Closing date is critical problem. we didn't know until last minute. It is not easy for us to plan to move with mover. We wish had more time to plan.

Overall, the quality of the build is great. Because the house is so basic, you're inclined to upgrade a bit. Decided to upgrade light fixtures in bathrooms and dining room. Big mistake. The bathroom fixtures were not centered to the sink and are closer to the wall. So much for having a design element. In addition, We were stuck getting a Lot that we didn't want, but agreed to it because we were told we could build a certain design on that lot (Farmhouse), which is the design we wanted out of the four choices. Two days later, we were told that we could no longer have the Farmhouse and that we had to have a certain style (Italian) because supposedly the plans were already submitted to the City. I feel like the plans would have had to be submitted much earlier if that were the case and that the Sales Agent must have known it was an Italian lot before telling us we could get a Farmhouse. Unfortunately, not being able to choose the style of home really messed with our experience as it's an option that is used to entice buyers to purchase with KB. The home wasn't 100% ready when we moved in, but the Superintendents (I went through 3 in the span of the 6 month build/purchase process) did follow up to make sure our concerns/questions were answered after moving in. You guys can do better. KB is a big corporation. I was expecting great service and quality. I am disappointed with the whole experience. This is not my first new home I purchased.

While I am mostly satisfied with my home, KB was not at all responsive to my issues during the construction. It was delayed by nearly a year but they wouldn't actually tell me that. They gave me an initial date and, once that passed, they wouldn't give me a date again until construction was complete (not even an estimate). Everyone I worked with at the start was either laid off or quit at some point during the construction. Our service team was laid off as soon as we closed escrow so we now have no one to go to in response to issues. We are told someone is about to be assigned to us but we closed escrow a few months ago. Overall we mostly like the house, and the employees are nice, but the corporate standard for customer service is far below anything I've ever experienced before. ... More

Overall issues were with promises made that were not fulfilled

i think the communication was not great. i needed to be on top of the sales team and the lender to get answers

The kitchen cabinet (style and color) selection was not to our liking. There was very limited choice. In the end, we had to repaint the whole cabinetry. Also within month of moving-in, one of the cabinet drawers door fell down - poor quality and materials.

Very bad construction. Construction manager is very bad

my only advise would be prepare for the worst and be happy when its not so bad. i would consistently follow up with everything because there will be too many mistakes to count. the end product will not be that great and you will have to redo a lot of the work. DONT GET OPTIONS, get the bare bones basic because you will be disappointed, take that money you saved on options and have it done after the builders is finished

good sales group but build process was really a bad experience

Once you sign the purchase agreement get ready for delays, broken promises and costly mistakes that will most likely delay your closing. We have been in our home a month and a half, had to leave for 5 days for them to do the repair work to the house at the end of October and still have not received reimbursement as promised. Their vendors do NOT wear masks so beware of that if you are at high risk for COVID. Our solar is still not set up and the HOA rep does not respond for weeks at a time.

My experience with KB homes has not been the greatest or happiest one. I have been in the house for 6 weeks and living “garage living” due to the massive issues I am experiencing. I believe KB is dealing with quantity and not quality as they used, this is my 4th KB home and I am not satisfied nor happy with the quality of their product. From bow walls, due to framers did not repaired marked spots and rushing to cover with dry walls, delivering a house with a serial issues that are continue to be repaired and I continue to accommodate their 3rd party contractors, losing work and hurting financially cause they want to do repairs to their convenience. their super intendent did not took serious my comments, I feel the joy and excitement of getting a brand new home have been rob from me, A house that was promised to be almost perfect and deep clean, we’re promises not delivered, instead I received a house vacuumed and floor dusty, on which for the last 6 weeks I have been breathing plaster dust which is toxic. I experienced at the time of my second inspection the most humiliating and sickening experienced of founding feces in the second bathroom and the super intendent laughing cause somebody did a number 2. I never received an apology from the manager from this super intendent. My beautiful black hexagon tiles backsplash, which the grout has been damaged by the incompetency of the contractor working in the kitchen cabinets and countertops, now the grout is white, gray,reddish,black. My two tone of whites cabinets that at the studio and sales I was told they would be Maplewood, well not even close to!! And I can continue listing and awful long list of defective and poor workmanship!! I feel at times the house is a lemon, and since KB was super late they just rush to do such a poor job and nobody took pride. Today, the new super-intendent Collin and customer care Jayden are trying so hard to repair and move fast with all the issues I am still experiencing, they have been so apologetic, KB needs to hire more people like them!! I will continue to live with my house still packed in the garage and breathing the toxic plaster dust!! Not happy with this purchase and experience!! ... More
