This was the easiest home purchase decision I've gone through. From the contract with Drake to the construction process with Ian, everything was clearly communicated and done as promised. I only wish the price were lower, but that is the market. Given the quality of workmanship and the market we face today, I am very pleased at the price point. We are very happy in our new house.

6 pages of 30-day items because there was a water leak on DAY 1 that led to a continuous cycle of contractors damaging my property. I went through the list I sent to Chris (my superintendent) and checked on what was done today. Today was supposed to be the day they took care of most of the 30-day walk through items. You may be surprised that it’s 6 pages long. Frankly though, the majority of it is damage that has not been repaired after the water leak happened on my first day after closing. The contractors who came in to fix the water leak, repair tile, dry out the walls, and other stuff ended up making the problem bigger. Today after the 30-day walk through items were supposed to be addressed, I found a bunch of new issues that were not there before. * Under the mirror in downstairs bathroom is a chunk of putty on the wall. This wasn’t there before. Not sure why it was put there. * There is paint all over the garage door doorknob on the inside. * There are scratches in the garage that weren’t there before. * I came home to a sink full of what appears to be facial hair in the master bathroom sink. I’m hoping my shaver and razor that are sitting on the counter were not used by someone. * There is paint/putty dust on the kitchen countertops and master bathroom counter. * The master bathroom toilet seat is also damaged now. One of the cushions/legs on the seat is broken off. It was sitting in the water when I returned home. It also looks like some of the tiles in the master bathroom were scratched by something metal. Aside from all that wonderful stuff, it’s been almost 60 days since closing and my house is in a state that I would never had agreed to close on if I had seen it like this. In fact, for the first 2-3 weeks after closing, I couldn’t use the entire home due to the garage, second full bathroom, and second bedroom having fans running 24/7. I’d appreciate a speedy response as it’s frustrating to live in a home that is constantly under repair with each repairman causing more damage. Chris and Kelly have been unhelpful in a lot of cases and both ignored the problems I sent to them today. I will say that it is suspicious that they scheduled this on Friday. Both have ignored my calls and texts. Kelly sent a reply and told me to wait until Monday . This is frustrating considering the amount of new problems created today and that it was their choice to pick Friday. Overall, I thought I wouldn’t have a KB horror story, I was wrong. For the most part it was a pleasant experience. The days leading up to closing were incredibly stressful, though. It seemed as though there was no communicaiton between KB homes, KB home loans, the lawyer's office, and my realtor/myself. No one was on the same page, the loan office was unhelpful and condesending, my house wasn't completed/cleaned before closing. And it was just overall an incredibly stressful experience.

We purchased this KB home very recently and living in it for around two months now. Build quality looks good to us, outer wall including window panels are of solid quality. Great insulation ! Good quality flooring. Builder was also very responsive and took care of all the issues (mostly minor) that we faced once we moved in. Although we expected few things could be much better such as kitchen counter top which seems to be cheap builder grade quality. Also, kitchen appliances like dishwasher, oven (range) etc- they were very basic and builder grade quality. I think apart from these we liked everything in the house. ... More

Everything was very well done as of closing. KB then discovered that a leak had been created in a pipe when a subcontractor installed insulation in a wall. KB very quickly addressed the problem, dried the affected area, and replaced some molding, drywall and a bit of carpeting. After a through clean up, KB even compensated us for the time and bother by installing an additional option. I believe how a company and its staff respond to a problem is usually the most important measure of its quality and commitment to its customers.
