We managed to buy a new home. Overall, the construction quality seems fine, and the construction superintendent was good at getting contractors to fix a handful of little things. The company was not impressive, though. The floor plan has quite a bit of wasted space, particularly in bathrooms. There is no gas service or phone-company service (CenturyLink) in the neighborhood. That means no gas appliances and no competition for internet service. Despite the company's claims of energy efficiency, the water heater is off the high end of the government scale for cost of operation. The sales person and others in the company were sometimes hard to reach. Avoid using the company's preferred title company, which seems to defer to the builder on everything. We love being a brand new home and neighborhood. For the most part, the entire process was very smooth and easy. We were very pleased with the purchasing, designing and paperwork side of the process. The structure and materials of the home are great but we are disappointed with the level of detail on the workmanship. It is clear that the houses are being cranked out and there is no standard set for a clean/neat job or for the workers to pay attention to detail. would not recommend upgrading your title. KB tile contractors have sloppy work floor is uneven and the grout is three different colors in our new home. Tile company did not even have a wet saw. My son is 18 months old and will stumble when walking to the house on uneven tiles. The other trades seem to do a little bit better for KB. My recommendation would be save your money. I moved in to a new town home at Metro II @ Comm Hill. The location of the community and floor plan is really unique. These factors led me to make the purchase. Overall I think it was a good decision. I was surprised however by the sub-par quality of workmanship all throughout the house. Some of the materials, like the tiles around the front of my house are already chipping/shattering. Seems like either a cheap product or default. Window and sliding glass door not installed properly.

The construction and buying process was fine. Mike and Janette were responsive and kept me updated regularly. When concerns or issues came up, both Mike and Janette were quick to resolve them, they are true professionals. The closing process was a joke. Amanda at the closing office made this part of the process more difficult than it needed to be. Lack of communication, unprofessional communication, lack of follow through and lack of partnering with the mortgage company were just a few of the issues. I got to say the quality of the materials are very good a solid foundation. The value for the home I think I paid a little to much it was a new plan and the layout didn't have that open layout I was looking for. I order a cabinet two months before closing and still haven't come in from the manufacture. We closed a six weeks ago and still have not received my kitchen cabinet and now seems to know when are if it's been order. I call the builder and the company it takes days are weeks for someone to respond back. end of the day, the house is 5 star quality build and I believe it will stand the test of time. ... More

The major parts of the home were built well. However, we have had so many electrical issues and issues with the paint. The responsiveness to get things fixed has been good, but only after I got the regional manager Ed involved. KB home needs to do a better job at doing things right the first time instead of doing things again. The roof has already had a leak due to the laziness of the roofing crew not putting on one of the vents which caused the lights in the master bedroom to short out. The paint job in some areas was mediocre at best. Also, the house was dirty once we moved in.
