Quality of workmanship is not the greatest, we where expecting to buy a brand new house so that everything was perfect and new, which is far from what happen, we did a lot of upgrades and everything that was installed looks like it was installed by amateurs that didn’t really know what they where doing, also we recently installed a doggy door in the wall of our house and as we where cutting the stucco out it just crumbled into sand making the hole way bigger and more sloppy than it should have been not sure why the stucco just crumbled like sand we have cut multiple holes for doggy doors in other houses and have never had that outcome. ... Being an engineer who reviews plans every day, I can tell you that KB works with the best design professionals in the industry. Design documents for structural and AMEP systems were some of the best I've come across. Not only the design plans but the whole experience, starting from sales/marketing, loan processing through KB lending, construction of the home, the move-in, and consistent follow-up from the KB team has been truly amazing. Mark from sales, Jason from KB lending, Luis the superintendent on site have always been available and prompt to address every one of my questions and needs. The KB team helped our family in each and every step. All team members were friendly and they always paid attention to details. They reported weekly to us. So, we were able to see the progress closely. The customer service team was very responsive and helpful even after we moved into the new house.

KB financial services need improvements! They need to work on their communication with the customers! It should be a clear path how they work together.

Overall, the experience was subpar. Everything was going great in the process up until the point we signed our purchase agreement. After that, we went to studio and picked out all of our upgrades. Options were mispoken for, for ex: sprinkler system/gutters not included and were told they were. We upgraded to all gas appliances and upgraded appliance options and somehow they mistakenly did not include gas drop ins for our most important appliances such as the dryer and double connvection oven. We paid an additional $6700 for upgraded vinyl flooring that was terribly placed in some sections(you can feel the vinyl move.) we paid an additional $3400 for our countertops and they were misplaced and uneven with completely obvious and terrible placement seams. Our kitchen cabinetry was not flush with the wall and our cabinet sticks out from the too of the cabinet and retreats into the wall about half ways in. We have cracks in evidently every room downstairs as well as some upstairs cracks as well. Our upstairs tub was likely not plum becsuse it drains extremely slower than all of our other tubs. Our sod/plants were dead upon recieving our home and were told they'd be replaced as soon as we moved in, but a month later we were still waiting for them to get estimates to replace it and not guarenteed that they'd fix it after they told us they would. We ultimately decided to come out of pocket to replace the dead sod and install a sprinkler system. We've been told straight up that the new drywall contractors will not come fix the last drywall contractors mistakes and that they're too busy to fix our issues. We were told all settlement cracks however the size are always addressed at the 10 month mark and not immediately. The date we tried to move in we noticed our furnace was not turning on and had to wait FOUR days for the "emergency line" to dispatch out an HVAC company to repair the furnace. The issue was diagnosed as a miswired unit, so it was impossible for KB Home to ever inspect and evaluate if the unit was even working before we were given the home. The walk through was fairly rushed so we could close on the property and to be frank the walk through was more just a highlight of the basic features of the home. We got bounced back from person to person and superintendent to superintendent until someone finally took the phase and finished it. Even so, we had an 18 month build. We purchased at the end of April 2022 and Closed Mid- October 2022. We didnt recieve the guarenteed closing date until two weeks prior. Getting them to schedule people accordingly to come make repairs has been a struggle because they never show on dates we are told. There is an underwhelming determination to help us fix the issues and it's almost like we are bothering them to fix issues that should have never existed and then persisted. It has been extremely frustrating to be told there is no time to help us with all these issues because they are too busy with other jobs. Its been over a month and many issues are still unresolved. We like our house, but we are just extrememly dissatisfied and disappointed in the worksmanship. Everywhere we look, there is something wrong. I dont think any new home owner would appreciate that. KB Finance was okay. They were attentive and tried to help to the best of their abilities. ... More

This is our first home buying experience in USA. The team (Ken, Curtis ) were very responsive. Deadline were met. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.

Honesty, integrity absent. Felt unrepresented, our fault should have not trusted our sales agent. Things discussed not honored due to not using KBs rude, incompetent Lender. Some $$ towards house taken away from us. Was told by sales “oh no, you can use your own lender and still get $2500 regardless, but not the $5000”. We understood, KB also took that $2500 away, feel a punishment for not using there lender. “ Oh it’s in contract you could lose it”! So was say will receive regardless of who we use? Took 14 months to build a small under 1900 sq ft. home. Felt like KB wanted us to back out. In turn our Interest rate hurt us. Did walk thru. Nothing we pointed out was done, now seems it will not. Cracked patio we paid for. Told by sales our appliance would be scratch resistant, had a mar in middle was told be taken care of at walk thru it wasn’t. It’s does not clean without horrid streaks and we had to pay extra to purchase. Will not do anything for us. Kitchen sink leaking upon move in, no one yet has came to fix. Have a towel and pot underneath. Ceiling seams visible, only to find ceiling was separating thru great area and hallway. Did someone to fix, then stopped him. He BTW was great. Had to extensively screw drywall to 2x4s as ceiling was sagging. Huge crack in our hallway he was suppose to finished it was stopped. We believe he was reprimanded for doing it right, hallway not finished, now no one sent to paint over seams, just a complete stop. Cracked tiles, one loose. Driveway and garage door never power-washed, as well driveway looks mismatched in color, dirt brown, and garage door filthy. Left hole in yard, did not fill in just put sod over it. Gravel, not dirt under areas of sod. Door seal, large gap front door 2. back door seals looks old and used, looks bad. Btw was told that would be taken care of it. Mismatched baseboards kitchen, living room, which we paid extra for. No foam insulation around stove vent or sink. In our minds criminal to pay so much for shoddy work, untruths, dishonesty in many areas. ... More

Home buying experience with KB was overall good. Sales person, was awesome and cared to help. Loan team and customer experience didn’t show that they care, in fact it felt the opposite. Customer care team especially was trying come up with unrelated reason why a defected area was normal and it didn’t need fixing. This is big investment and that team needs to work with the customer to ensure everything is to their satisfaction. Attention to detail is very important but unfortunately I didn’t see that in my house

Not only did it take o year to build my home, the closing date moved twice. There have been numerous issues (they’ve been fixed) that were annoying. Ie: leak under driveway, gas line not hooked up to furnace, carbon monoxide leak due to hvac not being hooked up properly,…I could go on. Definitely wasn’t expecting these issues when spending over 400k.

Saul is an outstanding salesperson. Noland was responsive to my concerns. Sean was excellent with my laon. I was not able to make one of my most important structural options changes due to timing, but some design center changes were facilitated. Home was not finished when my walkthrough was scheduled, so I could not do final inspection personally. Overall, staff made the experience easy for me.

Great communication during building process. So far communication continues with any concerns

Problems with Purchasing Dept specifications and subs completing work.

This is our 2nd KB home. We love it. One thing we really appreciated was how much we could customize the home to suit our needs. KB does a great job with this. Shoreline Park is going to be an awesome community once it is all built out. We love it here!

My Project Manager Adrian has been great to work with in which he kept up with the dates on when the house was finished and my Sales Rep Robert provided excellent customer services as well.

Happy with the KB Home. Many unfinished issues that are taking a long time to get done. KB selling rep. was great. The house is very comfortable, the layout is very functional. The neighborhood is very good.

Ensure all corrections are done prior to closing.

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience turned out to be far from it. Due to a changing home sales market in June/July we struggled to get our (previous) home under contract. KB didn't care. Not only did they not want to work with us to still close on our new home, they literally gave us an ultimatum. On July 19th, we received an email which read; "Get your home under contract by Saturday, July 23 or we will consider you in breach of contract and sell them home to another buyer. If we are able to sell the home before August 30, we will return your earnest money. If not, you will forfeit the money." It's important to note that our close date wasn't until August 10. After doing some research we learned that this happened because they wanted to get the home off their books prior to their next quarterly earnings report which was, by no coincidence, one day after their ultimatum deadline. Obviously, this is not what a customer wants to be told, and things got worse before they got better. As for the quality of workmanship, we've had 3 separate leaks in our furnace system over the last 2 months. Each time we had water puddled on the basement floor. We've been told that the leaks are fixed and "shouldn't have any more." We've been here 3 months and our "30-day punch list" has about half the things done. We were told that some won't be done until the 10-month punch list. While not all of these problems are directly KB's fault, it's the fault of their subcontracted trades workers. We've seen with our own eyes that some of them do not care about the end product. They just want to get the job "done" and get paid. In fairness, I will again say that some of these problems are not directly caused by KB. However, they've been in business long enough to know that you get out what you put in. Since they continue to hire people with poor to no work ethic, in the end, it is in fact their fault. ... More

So we bought a house 7 Oct. we did not like the experience with KB. When they offered a high APR & wanted us to buy down the rate. We went to our lender that offered way lower APR but then KB wanted to match it but wanted my lender to do a promise letter. Neither lenders wanted to do this so this took up time. We had refused to go with KB if they were going to match it because of they could match it now then they could have matched it in the beginning. Unfortunately we had to go with KB because they refused to give us the $4000 rebate and closing cost. Then it was a rush to do the walk through of the house. We closed on 7 Oct. walk through was 4 Oct. 2nd walk through was 6 Oct & did this not give them enough time to fix thing we found or that the inspector found. We got, “yes, that got fixed” when it didn’t. The AC gate was bent and that didn’t get replaced during the initial, 2nd walk through or the 30 day walk through. So this makes me doubt that they got any of the other things fixed. We are still waiting for things to be fixed and we are two months into living in this house. ... More

We are very happy the experience buying KBH was awesome

After admiring KB Homes for years, wishing to afford one of their beautiful models, we finally were able to buy one for our family! Much to our surprise, we learned how proudly they stand by their workmanship. The follow-up care is unmatched!

I am a second time KB homeowner. This experience has been HORRIBLE. I have encountered multiple issues that were pointed out several weeks prior to closing. The issues pointed out, poor craftsmanship, wrong appliances installed, defective carpet installation, wrong size vanity for second bathroom, drywall application and upgraded painting application were all horrendous. I purchased a new home that should have the upgrades and appropriate workmanship I paid for. This is the biggest purchase I have ever made and has resulted in the biggest disappointment.
