There's very little I would recommend here. The experience was horrible. Still fixing issues with poor craftsmanship.

Wonderful experience from start to finish.

Overall quality of workmanship is poor. Especially the paint job. The floor is covered with paint drops. Nothing was fixed after 2 walk through. Get the run around and excuses. Windows are getting discolored. List is too long. The list was emailed to KB representatives.

I love my new home. However, it seems that in an effort to complete construction by deadlines (if there are any), corners were cut. There wasn't much attention to detail. Specifically, there were, and still are, MANY carpet staples/tacks sticking out resulting in numerous minor injuries. One light fixture was missing. A few spring door stops were also missing. There were small paint spots on the flooring. Irrigation in the front yard leaked. Most of these issues were remedied after notifying customer service. There may be other issues that are yet to be discovered (hopefully not). All in all, nice. I'm just worried about how the recent heat wave will affect the workers and in turn the quality of construction on current builds. ... More

My loan officer Vanessa Francis was beyond amazing. I loved working with her, she was the only reason I didn’t pull out of my deal. I’ll never purchase another KB home.

We love our new home and are very happy with it. There were some delays along the way that could have been handled much better or avoided all together. Considering the climate of the economy being upfront, honest, and fully transparent about the time it will take to complete the home is essential. 15-18 months is a realistic timeline and knowing this upfront would have saved us a lot of money and stress. For those buying once you are in your home it is all worth it, but prepare for it to take over a year to complete and you won’t be disappointed.

The administrative side of things (studio visit and sales agents) we're great. Couldn't ask for an easier experience! Sales agents and our loan officer were absolutely FANTASTIC. KB is a reputable company but I was disappointed in the quality of the home. The longer we're here, the more we see paint that doesn't match, drywall repairs that were never fully repaired, and walls or base that isn't/aren't straight. Paint isn't a huge issue...I have almost ten years of experience in the paint world that I can fix these issues myself, they're just cumbersome. The nails and trash in our backyard, I'll never understand. We had to pick them all up ourselves and luckily we didn't step on one. They were EVERYWHERE as if workers threw them carelessly. I will say, when our hood was collapsing over our stove, someone fixed it right away. The super and all those working for KB have been great. I can't stress that enough. I understand these homes are built fast and efficiently, but I guess we were just expecting better quality. The shower rod that was placed in the guest bath wasn't actually on properly and was missing hardware. We purchased a new one ourselves. Overall, we're happy to just own a home in California. For the size of this community, we wished there was more help after the sales. It’s hard for one person to manage the responsibilities and needs of so many new home buyers in a timely manner.

Vanessa and George have been/are great, very attentive and professional. We are very happy with the customer service they provide. This review is mostly for them. Aside from George and Vanessa, we have had to be very proactive throughout the process to ensure things are getting done, from loans to post closing.

As a first time home owner, the entire buying process was great! We get weekly updates from our Sales Representative which is awesome. And our project manager/Superintendent met up with us every now and then.

Our experience was great! Everyone was very helpful and professional.

Overall building experience was horrible the builder was rude and argumentative. Because of waiting on cabinets my house sat in worked on for months. We were given weekly progress report but everything we were told was done or getting done would not be completed. When we went to written contact since verbally we were not getting any results. We were told by George the builder we had no right to go to our home unless invited at that point all progress reports stopped. We had 3 closing dates none were met. Causing us to push the sale of our home back. When we came for our final review before closing we had broken window, the house was filthy, broken cabinet drawers, no final paint done, on missing shower heads, missing mirrors, missing door knobs, holes in living room ceiling a huge hole in the bathroom wall, no shelving in the linen closet, back porch ceiling damage, back porch floor damage. H16 screwdriver hole across kitchen ceiling. At this point we were told our ovens were no longer in stock and were replaced with different ovens that we did not even approve of, and the wrong dishwasher. All the electrical was not wired correctly. This was 2 days before closing! The day of closing we had another walk through nothing had be touch. We had our movers bringing our furniture in while painters and electricians were trying to fix what they could. We have been in our home now for a month now and still waiting on repairs to be completed. We were promised compensation for our experience that never came. ... More

For the most part it was an exciting, but scary mixed with the stress of the unknown. But I'm in my new home and I'm really loving it. Thanks KB Linda

Many cosmetic and quality control issues at walkthrough that have still yet to be addressed even after filing warranty claims

I used KBHS loan services and it is hard to reach out to them. Emails may take days to get a response. It is not easy to reach your loan agent by phone too. Design Studio was ok. Studio employees need more training. I was not able to get certaion answers for some questions I had. there is not enough information for employees to reference for each floor plan's design options changes. HomePro studio appointment was not good. Their consultants don't know what they are selling. They failed to provide some key points about the packages you are puchasing. Get ready for suprises. The built process was good at the beginning. It was fast, and their construction engineer was responsive most of the time. Things got slower at the end. We had to remind every issue multiple times, It was like 1 person responsible from the whole community. We closed a while ago and still trying to get some of the work done that we have spoken months and months ago. The paint job is not the best. Below 3 stars over 5. No attention to detail. Looks like rushed. The room doors are cheap quality. Same as kitchen cabinets. I feel like the standard cabinets in the design studio were different than the ones we have. Both Sales Agents were nice. But Ian gets an extra point for his kindness. This is a nice community but I wish there would be a pool. ... More

the worst experience of my life

Overall KB has a great process of getting you to commit to buying a home. The sales team in our case Lizette was wonderful to work with, she routinely provided meaningful updates and progress reports for the home. Most importantly, you could tell that she enjoyed being the point of contact for the project. Design Center - Jennifer did a great job of listening and providing solutions for what could be done given the timing of the project. Customer Service - Justin has provided a positive experience and is cleaning up a lot of unfinished matters that he did not create and are not typical warranty repairs issues. Financing - was straight forward. We used our own lender, but no major complaints with the finance team. Construction Services- I like to assume positive intent, however the team is not customer friendly and lack the ability to successfully finish a job. In my opinion closing on a home is not finishing the job if you have missing lights, the wrong light fixtures, have workers in your house every other day to resolve items that could have been addressed several months ago. We had a home inspection, provided the report to construction and we still have incomplete items on the list over a month later. Every week we have lived in the home, we have had workers here as well - paint issues, wood stain issues, cabinet issues, dishwasher issues, lighting, garage door opener, flooring issues, drywall issues, plumbing issues, stucco issues, kitchen hood vent issues, fireplace screen issues, and missing sprinkler covers, We had to inform construction they installed the wrong window per plan design. We had to inform construction that a bathroom door was installed behind a toilet and it couldn’t close. If I report an issue with a dishwasher and I’m told the issue is resolved, but yet the appliance is never plugged in, water safety valve removed, and actually tested - please don’t tell me it’s resolved. They have attempted to get better - John has stepped in, but if I worked at KB I’d come out to my job sites and check on my operations. Some construction employees should never interface with a customer ever again. How many homeowners are having the same experiences. How much rework is necessary? You need a team of professional (women and men) to inspect your homes prior to asking a customer to close. Every week, I find new issues that have to reported to customer service. This is simply not fair to me and my daily to make ourselves available several days a week to get issues resolved. We hope to get to a place where we enjoy our new home, it just hasn’t been smooth sailing thus far. ... More

Good company helpful good material

The staff at KB Homes (Kris, Jaime. Arnold and Trey)are very knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and listened and addresses my concerns, efficiently and effectively. Great Customer service. The Team always treat me with respect!

We received weekly updates as to the progress of our home which was very helpful. We have great communication with the Superintendent Steve and assistant Superintendent, Rob. Customer service, Rod and Robert, have been excellent, very responsive and efficient. The design center specialist, Jessica, was so knowledgeable and helpful. KB has made water efficiency a priority with rain sensors and a fully landscaped front yard and drip sprinkler system. This one story design is spacious and very desirable. We love the home!

I was very disappointed with the build quality and with Brian the superintendent who was unprofessional and intentionally delayed and messed up the build, I am very surprised that the Sales team (Tim) who knew of the price reduction forced me to sign the contract for the unfinished, very poor quality deliverable 2 days before the price reduction.
