We bought a new home with KB in April 2025. Our sales agents were helpful, we enjoyed the design process, and overall, the home has absolutely met our standards - we love living here, both in this community and this home. However - due to a truncated closing process and some misrepresentations during the process, we were not ultimately able to use our full incentive (despite this being a huge factor in deciding to purchase the home). While it is not singularly KB's fault, we did not feel they were responsive or fair in the handling of the issue (as the loan had already closed and the home was sold), and it resulted in us losing $800 (that ended up back with KB). This soured our experience, and is something I would have liked to hear about prior to our purchase. Other than not standing behind fixing defects, the homeowner has found one another license. Tradesman came in to perform upgrades to the home and found a defect. KB said the tradesman caused the problem. They never make mistakes

It has been over 12 weeks since we purchased the home with 6 solar panels. The sales lady told me she was going to follow up in setting up solar connection and I don’t need to do anything about it. Thus far there is no progress nor any updates despite my repeated asking. This is pretty disappointing and I find KB homes ranking worse than Beazer with regard to Solar operation.

Overall a very nice house, but some subcontractors need more oversight. For example, I have five rooms wired for ceiling fans and every room is wired differently, so have to remember what switch does what. Some windows don't close far enough for the window lock to fully engage. Windows are low-E but provide almost no sound insulation.

The overall experience purchasing the home was great. Anthony are super and Michelle are sales Rep were amazing. The problem I have is with the length of time it takes to have the warranty rep get our 10 day warranty. It has now been two months and all the problems have not been taken care of.

The ceiling it’s broken it’s no problem no good

Pretty mediocre build. Whoever you guys use for sub contractors need to be sat down and reviewed. Light switches, crooked. Toilet seats, over screwed to the point the rubber screw was stripped. Towel bars, drilled directly into the drywall. Speaker outlets on the ceiling, sprayed with wall texture. Double check areas that are low traffic to make sure it has a full coat of paint, and make sure they actually spray dry wall under places you wouldn’t think to look at first glance. Make sure your roof is sealed properly or you can get roof Rats in new developments pretty easy.

There is no clear demarcation between homes which will help to maintain. There were some extra materials in garage during home walk through but later it was taken away. I asked multiple times but no response.

They paint over the cracks on tub to cover up.

Overall, we had a good experience with KB Home. The issues we ran into were their attention to detail and execution of the final product. Many things were not followed up on, and left to be finished when we did our walk throughs. Kyle (construction) was the best one to work with, because he actually came back to address everything and is a nice person to work with. Emma in sales is tremendous and I would recommend working with her any time.

I was quite disappointed when I was told that I was not going to get any help from KB Homes with the possibility of having a rodent in an interior wall of my new home. Obviously the home was not properly sealed when being constructed to allow rodents to be able to get into the framing and drywall

There were a few bumps in the road getting our deal done, but it all worked out. I only have 2 real complaints about the build. #1, the price to add a cover over a mere 10x10 square and the price to extend the patio just 5ft is way too high. The patio cover was out of our price range, so we considered extending the patio another 5ft. But due to the building restrictions, we couldn't do that and would have to extend another 10x10, even though the price sheets gives you prices by the sqft as though you could just get a few feet added. Since we would have to get another 10x10, that priced us out of our budget. #2, the grass. Our home was built/completed in July/August, while Houston was going through a drought. As you can imagine almost ALL MY SOD WAS DOA. I was there the day it was laid, and most of the grass was already dead. Even after we moved in and I asked for replacement pieces, we were still in the drought and they just brought more half-dead sod. Since our grass isn't covered by the warranty, it would be nice to ensure everyone gets fresh/green sod. I'd rather move into a house with the yard not complete, than to move into a yard completed with dead grass. Advise to buyers, stay on top of the things that the warranty will take care of. Save your handler's number on your phone! Other than those 2 things the build process was fairly smooth..my building supervisor Michael was easily available, Darrell was also a great help at answering all my questions and easing my concerns. ... The home is great. we love it. It was a model home , We had to have a few things worked on for move in. This was handled very poorly, workman ship very poorly done. The worst thing we encountered was the workers building your new homes across the street have driven in my drive way with dump trucks, trash trucks , trucks loaded with bricks ..And then they have driven in my YARD , rutting my it , over my sprinklers , over 4 times with my pleading for this to stop. Have asked for help and now we are wanting my yard repaired and my drive replaced,, CAN you help. Sad part we love the area and Home .. Not your unconcern of my New home we love . ... More

The KB Home team is great, and they provide a lot more updates than I expected. However, the finish work on the construction was decent to good, but many things were missed that we had to bring up to avoid delays. The customization options are amazing, but I would like to see more sample photos of homes that picked many of the options to choose from as examples. They do not offer good photo examples currently. We had a bad experience with our mortgage originator, who provided conflicting information about closing costs which caused a one week delay during closing. The last thing I’ll say is that the backyards need to be smoothed out and actually checked for nails, screws and other supplies left behind by the construction crews because our backyard was LITTERED with this stuff, which could have injured one of our dogs during the first couple of weeks we were there. But, KB was very responsive when asked to fix these issues since they are still building homes in the area and they deserve come credit for that. ... More

Everything has been great so far however we’ve been promised a pool by Memorial Day which takes 8 months start to finish. Upon buying around July for closing in August they were suppose to be breaking ground. Nothing had been even remotely close to breaking ground and we’ve been provided no update in site or no transparency about it. The pool community was a huge drive for why we chose this development with three children.

Seamless transition from buyer to homeownership

Brielle assisted me in my home buying. She answered every questions, returned my calls. Jas facilitated my lending process to the closing.

Experience was pretty good. I think the builders can pay more attention to detail on items inside home (back splash, base boards, arches, tiling). All the items I mentioned were off and never corrected. Sod was laid over rocks, carpet has a rock or hard item underneath it in the bedroom. Once we moved in it was hard to get in contact with anyone about our issues. Some issues still haven’t been resolved.

Although the KB Home was what we had asked for, the house came with various repairs that were brought up prior to the house being placed in our hands. Issues were brought up and never repaired. A home inspector corroborated issues as necessary to fix. The issues are now a part of warranty which means moving and living around people in the house that was supposed to be ready to be a home. The buying and design process was great. The construction less so. That said, few major issues except for feeling ignored and marginalized concerns.

Nice looking neighborhood and the house appears beautiful, however, it is best, to not assume everything works properly, as fast as the entire process goes it is not possible to catch every mishaps. Very unfortunate that we feel like renters still trying to get something to work properly and only being here for almost 2 months.

Had an issue with the oven. After only a few uses, the starter switch broke. Didn’t have an oven for a week.The shower leaked onto the baseboard due to poor workmanship. The refrigerator was scratched and had to be replaced. Seems as if the trades people are lacking an attention to detail. Too many major or minor repairs. It’s frustrating.

The house is very nice. But the work done at the end is a little bad.

A lot of issues were overlooked due to lack of craftsmanship and quality of workers. Simple things that could have been adressed in the matter of a few moments left to be ignored.

Kb experience was good however their financing was not
