So far I have ran into many issues. I have a bad Carpenter ant infestation. Part of my walls weren’t even painted right. The pavement on the driveway has things not right. The construction people made a lot of mistakes. I would not recommend KB Homes. The lenders were hard to get along with. Susan C. the sales associate has been great.

My new home is OK, nuff said.

Purchasing my KB home had highs and lows. The highs was my loan officer and sales person. I had a really good experience. The lows where the changing in superintendents and lack of response. Even now the warranty repairs are taking such a long time to address. It is really frustrating. Jeremy and Antone are pretty good but Jeremy came at the end. I appreciate his efforts. But my family was really hurt by the constant delaying of closing. At one point we had 3 days to close and then the close was pushed. That creates an homeless situation for my family and I.

The exterior of the house and the materials are good. The materials used inside the house are mediocre and the workmanship is mediocre

The KB team that helped us get into the home was great. The overall craftsmanship of the home is par. Nothing over the top just basic. The side yards just came with a heap of dirt no concrete no pavers. Just recently I had two issues. The microwave light popped and went out and when I replaced the light it doesn’t turn off and a door handle just fell off only one month in the home. For a new home there shouldn’t be any issues like these. I’m sure they will be taken care of. But the fact that it happened leaves me wondering. I do love the design of the home and the exterior design. Overall 8/10

Our experience from the beginning was great. The sales staff did a great job of communicating the status of everything. Initially we had great communication with the building manager, but all of that changed drastically in the last 2 months. Communications ceased to exist and our closing date changed 6 times. We closed with a list of items that needed to be fixed promised by the builders. Months later we are still dealing with several of these issues. The warranty offered by the builder has been laughable and frustrating to deal with. Be prepared to have to be very patient when dealing with them during and after. ... More

We're fine with the home, but long story short, we're finding issues with the house after about a month of being here. The sales team and building project manager are responsive, but things would have been better if the builders were not in a rush to finish the home. We've dealt with stuck doors, wet paint, a leaky sink, unsealed garage, a number of other issues that we were told would be fixed after inspection and closing. Some thing have been fixed while others are still outstanding- for example, a faulty oven that apparently, was a company-known issue being experienced by other home buyers. Moving forward, KB probably shouldn't buy wholesale appliances from Whirlpool. It does not seem like a good idea. We may need to call and email them to file for a warranty-replacement... again, after only about a month in living here. Beautiful community. Lacked communication. Couldn't get a clear date as to when we would close. After they found out we were upset they did go above and beyond to make us happy.

First time buying experience can never be smooth but i live my community and my home. The only thing i would say so is the quality of workmanship could be a little better especially for the price we paid for it.

We first signed a contract with KB Homes in June of 2022. Ingrid was great at walking us through the process when we signed and the project manager had promised a delivery before Thanksgiving. Ingrid was more conservative with an estimate of mid-December. We had the hurricane move through and expected delays. There was no significant impact in the development and work continued. Work fell behind and we only knew by tracking expected closing on the app. Ingrid was always good at trying to get information for us, but the project manager was not keeping any sort of schedule and not passing on information at all. They were six months past the closing date when we were finally ready for closing. The underwriters discovered a situation with the financing options two days before closing that had a significant impact on our financing options. They had the information for four months and only found it two days prior. There were a few problems with the final build, however the new project manager was very helpful in getting the build back on track in the last two months. He was very helpful during our walk through and even after we moved in. Ingrid and Tiffany were both great to work with and went above and beyond expectations during our last week getting things straight for closing. Overall, we are pleased with our home and would recommend the builder with more oversight and outside financing secured in advance. ... More

I would say our experience was up and down as first-time home buyers. I do think the process was interesting. You need a lot of patience as it took us almost a year to build. I do think that they would have clear contact information once you move and the communication could be a little better also who you need to contact for what since you have a warrant on the house?

The experience was good. The homes are very nice and neat. The employees/staff were all very friendly and professional. They made the home-buying experience much more enjoyable!

Be ready ,be patient and flexible

Sheri was so helpful and informative during the initial home buying experience when I went under contract. She kept me and my realtor up to date on the build throughout the process. Jim has been so attentive in taking care of structural and operational tasks that needed revision, such as replacing my master bathroom cabinetry, lawn care for the first few weeks after closing, reviewing with me the sprinkler system, etc. Kerlyn was a pleasure to speak to on the phone and he has been effective in setting up work orders to address the issue with the damaged drywall in the laundry room and touching up the paint on my front door. The criticisms I have for the workmanship is that the contractors building the home need a little more attention to detail. I can visually notice several areas inside the house where the base boards are not straight or at 90 degrees relative to the adjoining walls. Also, the windows don't measure the same width when measured at the top compared to the width at the bottom. Lastly, I was told at the initial home orientation that the builder would place an epoxy coating on my garage floor. It looks like what was done was a coating of gray paint and some scattered flakes which tend to, over time, get tracked from the garage and into the house on my shoes. I had a garage flooring professional look at the floor and he quickly assessed that what was done to the garage floor was not an epoxy coating. Cindy my selling agent was great. I do not like the fact that certain things were left unfinished and sloppy, granted they have been fixed, but I guess things were being rushed to meet a deadline.

Lack of attention to detail, so many irregularities one spots only after the fact I guess the excitement of getting a new house vails the blemishes initially truly disappointed with that fact.

Was done sooner than we expected

Ingrid is a amazing sakes consultant. She explained everything very well. Was there to answer my questions responds immediately. A real asset to your team!

The house seems to be well built, layout is well thought out, houses are very attractive, internal touches are nice Salespeople’s and builder were fantastic when purchasing but once you sign for the house they drop off the face of the world(probably how it is supposed to work), but the warranty person doesn’t pick up the slack. Takes multiple emails to get any response and then weeks to schedule workers to come out. The warranty workers only show up half the time which starts the cycle of trying to get a response from kb warranty all over again. Neighborhood landscaping is going in now and they just planted 4 northern red oaks on the side of my house in a line with 5ft spacing in between. Is this a joke? These trees grow to 40-60ft tall and have 25-40ft wide canopies when mature. Seems poorly thought out. ... More

They are taking a lot of time in taking care of my warranty issues.

I bought a ready to move in house. There are many small things needed to be completed before. However, after closing i found it very difficult to get those things done. Such i had to call thousands of times just to get installed sud, and other stuffs like crack, missing paints, AC check for temp differential are still not done. Customer care is another worst part. I called them a month ago which they never did follow up.

We closed on our new home with multiple punch list items needing to be addressed. The project manager(s) seem to be doing their best to get all the subcontractors back to the house to complete all items to our expectation. I can understand how hard it is to get subcontractors back once the closing occurred, but I wish more could be done. We closed over 60 days ago.

Just know what materials are being used in kitchen, cabinets, roofing underlayment. They are builders and may have a great home, or just an average home. It depends on what was picked for the build.

Overall, the buying experience was pretty good. The salesperson was great and we got lucky with a good (but busy) construction manager. Timeliness to fix issues is decent for the most part (except the big projects and contracted companies like windows/cabinets). Still waiting on a lot to get finished and do feel like nothing from the New Home Orientation Walkthrough was actually addressed for the final walkthrough (just couldn't delay closing so needed to accept it as is-terrible position to put people in). Still unhappy about my driveway which had large cracks on every pad except the one they had already replaced and doesn't match - my driveway within the first month on my new build $400k home looks like Frankenstein and is such a huge eyesore, only thing I absolutely HATE about this house. The walls are THIN, like drywall anchors just go straight through so good luck hanging anything unless you're lucky enough to find a stud. I was told they're 16", but have found most are 24"-28" unless it's an exterior wall & definitely not thrilled about that. The rounded corners buckle as soon as they're barely hit, so be VERY careful even touching them. They are an extremely thin material. Corners get hit the most so for these to be so flimsy is kind of crazy, and I can't believe what they use is even acceptable on a build. On the good side, we looked at a LOT of homes, both new and previously owned, and KB Home hands down has the best floorplans. Like there's no comparison. All the new build homes are too close together so can't judge them on that, but also they're SUPER close together. The build itself needs work, and better quality materials. All the new home spec-type builders build this way and it's unfortunate that they're allowed to use such cheap materials and still charge an arm & a leg for a home. Sales team and finance department were great, buying process itself was great, construction manager has been great (definitely a huge plus to have one that actually seems to care to very, very thankful for that). Submitting an offer to this house and sale person's responses were very prompt and smooth. The house is blocking lots of noise from outside. The looks from the outside is very stylish. But there are things I hope I didn't see after moving in are following. #1. Lots of construction leftovers are buried under my lawn. I had to dig out trashes, various sizes of cement blocks, plastic vinyl, etc. I expect more in different sections. #2. There are holes in the garage wall. #3. Nails are visible in the one of bathrooms. #4. Windows sizes are not consistent. Bottoms and top widths are different here and there. #5. I hear quite squeaking noises on the 2nd floor and stairs while walking around. I hear this kind of noise from my mother-in-law's house which is more than 30 years old. ... More
