When you have a customized track home built, it is expected that you will incur workmanship issues and areas of concern along the way and even after closing. How these issues of concern are handled is truly what makes or breaks the feeling you have for the builder/supervisor of the community. The home buying process in the beginning was straight forward. There were some delays during the build phase and communication could have been better. We have been in the house for 3 months and we’re finding signs of port craftsmanship. Trying to get things fixed can be frustrating.

KB Homes in Madera is a nice community but I have been in my home almost 2 months and i still have several issues with my home. Workmanship is not the greatest and communication is also lacking. KB is determined to correct all the issues however it is liking pulling teeth trying to get the repairs scheduled.

There were small details what needed to be improved, I’ve seen homes being built around my home and most seem to have the same issue, back yard it’s all uneven and hard to work on, quality in the materials could be improved too.

The builders and construction workers did a good job considering the Covid 19 delays. They were response to text messages regarding issues with the house, paint, electrical, and general house building issues. The home loan team lacked attention to detail and sent privacy sensitive information to the wrong email address multiple times and never sought to ensure it was the correct person. The overall process was not too great. The KB team was not always communicating with me about what the next steps were. Because of the back orders they were not able to tell me when I would be able to get my microwave vent.

In other non-pandemic times, I’m sure the home buying process with KB would have been more pleasant so it’s hard to give a review when most of the problems/ delays occurring were out of KB’s hands. I can say that we were always heard and reassured that everything would turn out great once we got past all the hurdles, and there were many. And yes, everything was great in the end.

Overall, we love the property. However, due to delayed timelines, it seems that construction process was rushed. The interior of the property did not go through a deep inspection before releasing it to us. We have several issues that should have been caught through internal inspection prior to releasing the home. The construction team particularly Danny has been extremely helpful. communication is a huge issue. There were several times when valuable information was not passed over to us as home buyers (like the closing date being moved). I understand delays due to shortages and labor but I expected to be told about them. Also, it seems that after you close you are on your own. We had an issue with water coming back into the house after the water softener drainage pipe had become backed up. The warranty rep told me to get some towels to clean up the dirty water that had saturated my carpet. I tried to reach his manager and got no response. Would not recommend KB.

The initial selection process with the design studio and everything was great. We are happy with the price of the house when we purchased. We had many issues with workmanship and with getting those issues addressed. We went through several construction managers throughout the process, but they kept quitting KB. Our 3rd one has been very helpful and attentive to our needs, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. We are now moved in and still working on fixing a lot of little things.
