Initially customer service is very responsive, but about a month out I am still waiting for a hole in the driveway to be fixed and for my towel racks in my bathrooms to be fixed so that they don’t keep falling off. Also I’ve noticed that after a heavy rain the backyard floods and the drainage is slow, so I’ve been waiting for someone to respond concerning that issue.

After looking at existing and new construction homes in the Lakeland area, we came to the decision to buy a home in Hickory Ranch because of the quality of the homes, no CDD's, the smaller size of the community. So far we are overall satisfied with our decision, enjoying our new home and neighbors. We are still waiting on a few post-construction issues to be resolved with moving of sprinkler heads, resolving yard drainage issues and a few minor things, but all other issues have been resolved in a timely fashion. The construction supervisor got transferred and the construction issues are not addressed, there is no point of contact now.

Pleased with my experience with KB homes

Overall a good experience with KB!

Good buying experience with sales and escrow.

There were a few minor things which weee identified when I did the final walk through which needed attention. I was promised that everything would be made right. I can see now that promise was only good until I completed the homeboy survey sent out. Tony had made sure get a few things fixed before the survey got to me. However, since the survey was submitted, all other things on the list have been quickly forgotten about. As a result, my front door leaked water during a recent heavy storm because the weather stripping was not correctly installed on the front or back doors. Had I not been home at the time of the storm, my entire living room would have been flooded. Please note, part of the carpet did in fact get soaked and I had a huge amount of water to mop up at the entry. I notified Tony about this and he stated that the previous installed of the weather stripping was no longer being used by KB, but he has yet to send anyone to correct this problem. I was also promised a set of blinds for the master bathtub window. The company who was supposed to install them has not delivered yet. There was paint drops on the kitchen cabinets and no one has come to clean them or the sticky glue on the vinyl flooring. I see now that my mistake was in completing the big survey they hounded me about shortly after I closed. If that was all it took for my home’s problems to be ignored so quickly it makes me wonder what will happen if I ever need to file a warrant claim. I don’t like to be constantly calling to make complaints and it should not require such rude behavior to get things made right. It’s don’t know it Tony will even see this review, but this is my last chance to voice my concerns and at least get a message out to other buyers do not be quick to submit your home buyer survey if you have anything thing which was not completed or don’t incorrectly during the construction of your home. Home buying experience was smooth some issues. I have expressed in other surveys that I took for KB homes. As far as the build once completed there was still some cosmetic issues that were not fixed and some workmanship issues with dry walls and electrical. Had our up’s and down’s with closing date that kept changing month to month.

After seeing so many builders and finally finding KB, I absolutely loved the home from the outside to the inside. My family and I felt at home right away. Few issues we found after moving in but the warranty dept was so quick and friendly to respond. Love love my KB Home!

The builders need to pay more attentions to the fine details. The use of some known brands seems attractive but not practical. double handle instead of single handle on faucets. Drain handle hide behind and set way too low for good looking but you need long and slender fingers to pull it up. missing screws etc. defects on the quartz counter top, punch thru brat nail tips at the base board almost cut my finger, toilet seat fastener cover automatic pop open due to engineering defects, hot and cold water outlet from wall to the pedestal can be seen while sitting at your toilet. we do not expect every single cement block be perfect but paying half a million dollar home, a few corner chipped cement block is not that expensive to pick a good looking one and safe the defective one for your home art works. front walkway bricks came off as you walk and step on it, near falling disaster on my mover. over all, KB has done an excellent job. Overall is good. very smooth. Found some tiny defects, and repaired very quick after reach out warranty. just need pay attention that some SPEC home is 8ft but not 9 ft.

Leslie was very professional and communicated well with me. Christian and Marley also were helpful during my way through. Again…I was living in AZ during my build. I am currently still living in AZ, so I cannot comment on anything in the house at this time. One issue I was disappointed in was a day or two after I closed on my house I noticed an ant problem in my garage. I contacted KB, but no one would respond to my issue, except to tell me to spray for them.

Josh made the loan side of buying a house a breeze! He checked in on us weekly and was always ensuring all of our questions were answered. He even continued to check in on us well after moving in. We have been waiting on a few final touch ups for the house and Josh even reached out recently and offered to help see to those getting done.

Overall experience is good. Definitely will be buying again.

Good customer service and professional

The entire buying process was good. For the amount and quality of the home was fair. Response to any questions was added immediately.

The beginning stages of the process were fine. The building process was a nightmare due mainly to well issues. We love our home though!

This was my first time buying a house and there were great moments and not so great moments. Adrian, the construction manager was AWESOME and Exceptionally thorough!! His work ethic is top tier! Overall, communication and clarity about what to expect and the process, specifically the closing process, could improve.

The overall buying experience was good, sales, loan agents are amazing but the customer service doesn'y respond well amd at times are agressive when can't find their own community in their list to initiate a service request. Quote unquote by service guys 'Know your community name first and then call for service request' I am very well aware of my communuty name I am a new home owner. They cant find their own builder's community and be very rude.

Overall, we had a decent experience. My husband is a contractor and can confirm the majority of the workmanship and materials is excellent. We did experience issues with shortcuts being taken on finish work and it is my advice to be VERY involved, take LOTS of pictures and communicate concerns in writing the minute they occur. I do wish we had insisted on power to the home for the final walk through - we could have avoided things like appliances not working correctly and outlets that were not connected. The design studio is fabulous! BUT - know your prices - there are things they offer (e.g. front door lock upgrades) that are inflated 300% - those things you can save $ and do yourself. Also - read everything - and I mean everything very carefully - we had to send back our design plan 4 times for corrections. The communication of the entire team - ALL people we interacted with throughout the buuying process was stellar! The sales team, job supt., finance dept, etc. all made sure we knew what to do. The fact is - with a new build there WILL be issues - count on it and know this. The key is to stay on top of post closing communication. I have learned that clear, kind and consistent communication and accountability helps get issues resolved. I do wish they were available for warranty work on weekends - we have had to miss a ton of work to deal with post closing issues. Plan accordingly. Overall - we would definitely work with KB homes again - I have family and friends who also had very good situations and experiences. The entire process was seamless. All parties involved made themselves easily accessible and answered all questions. The home was the perfect fit for our family. We lucked up with a property with lots of upgrades and comparing to base model, definitely spend the extra money on them.

These individuals were very informative, helpful and kind. They were all extremely knowledgeable and efficient at their jobs and were able to troubleshoot any and all challenges that arose. I am more than appreciative for each of them. KB Homes is certainly fortunate to have them.
