First time home buyer here and we were duped. Had multiple construction issues (wrong windows, plumbing issues, foundation not level, flooring issues, doorknobs falling off, cracked windows, windows off track) all in the first week of moving in. Customer service rep told us we were being unreasonable and then superintendent took over customer service and supervising construction. Horrible idea. You have to email and call and chase to get anyone to acknowledge your issues. Then you have to allow the same people who messed it up the first time to come back and mess it up again. This has been the worst experience! As a first time home buyer, I would have never expected to have gone through such poor construction and customer service as I’ve experienced. I definitely don’t feel I’ve received the value of a $300,000 home. We’ve had nothing but one complication after another and it all started within the first 24 hours of moving in when we had a small flood in our laundry room because a pipe was disconnected. We had high hopes in the very beginning, but after KB got our non refundable $5000 things changed. We were treated rudely and couldn’t get straight answers for anything. After moving in we’ve had one problem after another. It doesn’t seem like anything can go smoothly. We’ve had someone out about our flooring 4 times and are still having major issues. KB told us in the buying process that they stand behind their build and products, but we’re feeling very letdown. We’ve had many issues with many !! Things some have been resolved and some haven’t.

Bad workmanship and a lot of missing and damaged selected appraised items

I would stay clear from KB Home in Madera County CA because it doesn’t make sense to buy a new home that have so many damaged and missing items. I bought the top model and paid a lot for a lot of upgrades items, but a lot of it are damaged and are still missing. It’s a very aggravating new home buying experience. In light of this, maybe KB Home is different in different counties/states, but it’s very bad in Madera County CA thats for sure.

Poor workmanship noticed throughout the home areas, Lack of reponse from KB Home Builder's staff.

Very poor workmanship noticed across different areas of home. Home looks new, but feeling is old becuase of numerous issued noticed after we moved in. It has been over 2 months since we closed Escrow, but warrany folks have been unable to resolve all issues. Issues that have been resolved were not done on a timely manner either. I truely feel that there was a lack of supervising from KB Home during the time home was buiilt resulted, due to which all the messy situations wr are going through now.

Delays, Poor Workmanship, and Horrible Communication

We have had a horrible experience and would not recommend using KB. Even after moving in, we still have so many issues that are taking forever to be addressed. We were told that any defects would be fixed within three days of our New Home Orientation, but here we sit about two months later and are still waiting for so many issues to still be fixed. Most of the issues are around sloppy work and cutting corners. The House from Hell

They weren't worth a crap. This is my opinion which I am entitiled to. Poor construction. Poor quality of work and resolving problems. Slow in making repairs. They didn't show us how to operate water, air conditioning systems (poor orientation). Failed to mention we were close to a chicken farm, which stinks at times. This only positive thing is they do communicate good with us. But actions spreak louder than words. We would never recomend KB Home to our worst enemy. The HOA is a nightmare to deal with. We will be selling ASAP.

Excited to buy a new home again with KB since first experience was unforgettable however it was the worse experience ever. Beginning was all good and sweet but the ending was a nightmare. From Walk through to after service was unprofessional and unacceptable.

Really Had a bad experience with the KB home builder. There was an issue in my AC unit and drywall cracked in the living area. While on final day closing we collected keys directly from Austin Tile and we didn’t set the temperature to 69 inside the house. In return the builder is blaming us you are responsible to your house. After closing I never been at the house, then how can I responsible. It’s their responsibility to set every thing properly and currently when submitting keys to Owner. KB Home provided the worst home buying experience a builder could give. The workmanship is horrible (still having the house fix after 2 months of being closed) and even the pending items list at closing is still pending. I was given the wrong cooktop twice and I am still waiting on my new one. The sales department pressured the construction team to meet an end of quarter deadline to boost their sales for the quarter. We closed on 8/31/21. THE HOUSE WAS NOT COMPLETED!!! There were major punch items like large holes (12'x9") cut into the wall to access the HVAC unit that was not repaired, cabinets were still being completed while we were waiting for utility companies days after closing.
