Home is beautiful, however, there were a lot of little details that did not meet my expectations for the price paid. Cabinets had issues, crown molding had issues, flooring seems uneven in some areas.

KB was real quick to try to get the homes done that they hired the fastest yet obviously cheapest contractors and tried to get it done in sloppy record speed.. Overall, it's liveable and I AM ultimately happy with my home although it's been nearly two months since closing and still waiting on all (somewhat minor) repairs to be fixed. I'm having to take off half a days work (which will likely turn into two half days if I suspect we're working with the same contractors) to deal with what should have been addressed with the contractors themselves prior to move in, but I digress.. Overall, the experience was subpar. Everything was going great in the process up until the point we signed our purchase agreement. After that, we went to studio and picked out all of our upgrades. Options were mispoken for, for ex: sprinkler system/gutters not included and were told they were. We upgraded to all gas appliances and upgraded appliance options and somehow they mistakenly did not include gas drop ins for our most important appliances such as the dryer and double connvection oven. So many things wrong with the house. Sloppy workmanship on cabinets, baseboard, patio door and carpet. Getting so many appointments scheduled to fix things that should have been done right the first time is cutting into my work schedule and making it hard to get to doctors appointments. So I’m just done. I’m so tired of trying to schedule and reschedule these appointments and have people interfere with my workday that I will likely just leave many items as they are instead of having them fixed.

Mr. Chavez is phenomenal and once he temporarily took over the Harbor Dunes community, everything started to positively progress in the right direction. However, I’m still missing a bunch of items and no details on when those items will come in other than it’s on back order. Still waiting on several items to be fixed as well. Lastly, the subcontractors that KB Home hired to build, install, paint, etc… were very sub-par. While we are overall happy with our home we are tired of hearing ‘that’s an issue with trades’, sorry the manufacturer is not helping you with that. 3 months into our home and the wrong size blinds, the broken cabinet and the dishwasher that will not dry remain a problem that the builder can’t/won’t fix. The builder hired the blinds company, the cabinet company and selected the manufacture of the dishwasher. Time for the builder to take responsibility for getting things fixed.

Take your time to check everything carefully before signing off. My brand new stainless steel sink has been scratch, also my counter top. The paint on my garage still showing streaks of white paint, My front doorknob has a different color paint than my stain door. At the bottom of my front door I can see daylight . 1. Well over-priced. KBhome took advantage of hot real-estate market. Unreasonable lot premium. 2. Well over-priced optional items such as flooring. Not much choices such as window treatment or ceiling fans. 2. I still have 3 small issues and 1 major issue (replacing the scratched kitchen cabinet door). Customer Service associate is not responding to my text, emails, and phone calls for the simple status update. No communication what so ever after an initial text communication. It has been 2 months.

I work in construction and my jobs are never as messy as the job site was at my new house. Food spilled on the subfloor trash everywhere. I still find trash in my yard from the construction process. Sump pump was in the wrong location, electrical was not correct run, miss matched paint on closet doors, lots of drywall issues, tiles chipped and not grouted, door trim impropriety installed, broken appliances and the house was never properly cleaned before they turned it over.
