I am on the field at the options and the basic price were quite high. Or Charithing but KB Home has been responsive when we have had warranty issues so far.

Nice location, but the home could have been better

I am happy with my purchase for the location I bought my home in. Only complain is about the finishing of my home. For the price I paid, I expected better value in things like thermostats, a very cheap COR thermostat is offered, and that cannot be changed if you don't want to void the warranty. Another thing I didn't like about KB is that, lack of hook ups for ceiling fans and in built speaker wiring system. This doesn't cost a lot, but we were not given any choice to upgrade too, as we bought the home little late in the process. I think such things should be included in a home which is ...

Not what I was expecting.

When they show you the model homes the are so perfect. I am not taking about the upgrades, but the finish of paint, cabinets, walls, garage door and landscaping. I have many issues minor and major ones. The staff are amazing and knowledgeable but they are small in number and can't keep up. I have to wait for repair a long time.

Some of the materials, like the tiles around the front of my house are already chipping/shattering. Seems like either a cheap product or default. Window and sliding glass door not installed properly.

The construction and buying process was fine. Mike and Janette were responsive and kept me updated regularly. When concerns or issues came up, both Mike and Janette were quick to resolve them, they are true professionals. The closing process was a joke. Amanda at the closing office made this part of the process more difficult than it needed to be. Lack of communication, unprofessional communication, lack of follow through and lack of partnering with the mortgage company were just a few of the issues. We are pleased to move in to our new home in Elderberry, Portola Springs Irvine. We thank KB Home customer service of their responsiveness to our request of any touch up works that are needed once we move in. AC designs have had to come out multiple times to repair AC unit. It's an inconvenience and still have to work with them. I wish the house was finished and tested everything before we moved in. We are still dealing with some issues with plumbing and missing fixtures.

Overall We Are Pleased With Our KB Home

We bought a spec home so we did not get to pick the upgrades. The upgrades chosen by the design studio were very good choices. We would have only made a few alterations. Some of the workmanship on the drywalling and texturing was below average. We have been in only 1 1/2 months so we haven't dealt with response to warranty issues, yet. I'm not sure I'd use KB Home Loans. The process was easy but the loan has been sold twice and there has been a change in the fee structures.
