For the most part the homebuying process was easy and timely however there were supply shortages that we’re not the builders fault but there are still issues with things working in the home that I haven’t gotten fixed yet. mainly because I’m waiting for the contractor to replace a fan. The warranty team is very efficient and responsive it’s just getting the contractors to step it up.

I enjoyed my home buying experience. Our sales representative was very attentive. I have voiced that the workmanship needs to be better. A multiple cosmetic and other issues have surfaced after closing on home. I would recommend hiring an outside inspector. Also, if you don’t rate the construction team a 10/10 after the closing survey, they call you and belittle your survey response.

I initially enjoyed working with the KB people. What I want other homebuyers to know is almost all the basic things that should be included with the home is an upgrade (meaning more money)! Was told that I had an extra 28,000 for additional upgrades.I was mislead & couldn't get the patio that I really wanted so badly!

In general, the experience with you has been relatively regular. I think it could improve if you pay more attention to the reports that are made to the construction personnel, since they do not resolve the damage reported in a suitable time. The quality control of the people who make the house is bad since they have to do the same repair more than twice. There is no website where I can make my damage report and I only depend on the construction superintendent answering my call and scheduling my repair within two three weeks.

KB has affordable houses and they are all very updated with new technology. However, things in my home were rushed and not done correctly. From un level windows and light-switches (yes noticeably crooked) to a water main bursting in the first two weeks. I do give KB kudos for actively fixing all the issues but still the headache of contractors coming in to my new home to fix things during COVID has been annoying. Had to do 3 walk throughs. When something needed to be fixed, it created other new issues. The person doing the walk through tried to get me to just nod, say yes, and sign off on the house. He got very annoyed when I refused. When other issues arose I dealt with Mark. He was fantastic in getting my concerns taken care of in a timely manner.

The quality of work is unsatisfactory. I have to hire my own inspector to inspect the work that they do. JD - the superintendent does not return phone calls on time or does not attend to your needs or questions. He told me that he is to update me once a week but never did. Sometimes he doesn’t even call you back. I have to get the help from my realtor or KB home realtor to get my questions answered. The studio selection was all a money grab. I kept being told how I wasn't spending enough money, and I should spend more. We chose to add a gas line to our home. When we started looking at gas stoves for possible upgrades in studio, we were taken to the Lowes website. KB was trying to charge us roughly $200 more for the same stove that large hardware stores sale. Not only would I have to pay more than if I purchased directly from that store but KB would keep the electric stove that was built into the home price and not give me credits for it. Our sales person was not the greatest or most knowledgeable. We got many answers from them that were incorrect and ended up costing us in the end. Our construction manager was great but it seemed like the construction team cut corners and did not do everything correctly or to the best of their ability. We have some issues that still need to be fixed but we are having trouble getting them out to fix things. Overall, our experience was ok but would not build with them again.

The KB homes at Ventana on Lincoln CA, are nice. We where one of tge first families to move in, and everyone we've met have been nice. The office staff, and the kb homes construction supervisors have been great as well, even through this covid 19 challenged time. Now the excitement of taking possession of the home, and finalizing mounds of paper work, and contracts, time for the details.
