Their painters all need to go. None of them apparently will use painter's tape, and no straight lines are painted. Horrible paint job that we have to settle for. We have lived in the house close to 2 months. Now they say there needs to be an appraisal where they come in a take pictures of the inside of my home. I am completely uncomfortable with this.

I would pick another builder if I had to redo the process.

We have had issues with flooring, a crack in the ceiling in the master bedroom, and the exterior paint. These concerns were addressed promptly but after a month repairs have not been made.

Supervisions on jobs and better workmanship,

This was my first home building and buying experience and I am slightly disappointed. I chose to go with KB home because they promised and strive for "great customer satisfaction" and portrayed their company as being highly attentive to their home owners. We love our home but there are many flaws. I would describe our home as "messy." When doing our walk throughs with the construction manager we pointed out specific things that were not right or that needed to be corrected and we were promised everything would be fixed and perfect before we moved in. Well that was not the case because there is a multitude of areas in our home that need to be fixed. Secondly, we were promised a 10 day follow up after move in and we did not receive any acknowledgement or "check in" until a month and a half after moving in. I have been living here for 2 months now and still have not had any of the problems in my home fixed or had any further follow up. The only good experience we had was in the studio. We had a great representative that walked us through each and every aspect. It is a very over whelming experience and she made it very easy. The only misleading part is picking out the exterior colors of the house. They give you a sheet with a few different swatches laid out and expect you to pick your house color from that. I would recommend having a physical picture of the house painted in each color scheme to help the buyer have a better idea of what their house will look like. I have been in my home 3 months and still waiting on things to be fixed. For a how That will cost me half a million dollars once paid not worth it.

I would not recommend KB Homes to anyone. Unless they really wanted to be in the community that KB is developing. Build quality, craftsmanship and finish and attention to details is inferior to many other builders Like Terry Homes

The ability to get the site approved, financing approved, selection of floor plans, etc. was excellent. The home, however, was rushed and the finish work is terrible. Damaged door, drywall tape visible all over the place, caulk lines look like they were done by a drunk, silicon cracking around sinks within a month. Responses to repairs are excruciatingly slow. 2 months to get a medicine cabinet installed that should've been there prior to closing. Worker sent for drywall repair made a mess and the repairs were horrible. Next guy did well to fix his predecessors work but then used the wrong paint. 3 weeks later and still not fixed. Construction crews from kb working on other houses have driven forklifts through our lawn enough that large sections of sod need to be replaced. Trash from other sites in our yard every day. We are very disappointed with our house we are still having people fixing discrepancies that should have been done before moving in. I am starting to see that my KB home was done very poorly and it is frustrating having to pay this much money and not have this house done correctly. I feel like

KB homes is affordable for most families. Our best experience was with the real estate agent assigned to the new homesite. They definitely need to improve with the quality of workmanship that goes into the home.

The mortgage piece was terrible. After move in , had several repairs, takes a lot of my work time. Used my electricity to build the neighbors house. The stucco walls are not flat.

no follow through, appointments missed

From the sticker in our attic window, our warped stairs, cracked cabinets and leaking backdoor. We feel overwhelmed with the large and small issues. I'm disappointed with the quality in the carpet and bath/shower combo. Our grass in the back yard is muddy an uneven. The quality of our home did not meet the value of what I paid for the home. Carpet with no padding is coming up on the stairs, our cabinets still have a spit, what we were showed in demo to our $3000+ tub shower combo was extremely misrepresented. The communication between our builder to us and the rest of Kb was terrible. Deb was amazing giving us the start of our home, however the design studio and what the builders presented was night and day. ... More

Make sure Everything is fixed before signing your contract otherwise. They don’t care anymore. They are rude and not listening if you have a problem.

I asked multitude of times throught the building process for a few key items to be fixed and promissed repeatedly that things would eventually be taken care of. NOTHING was corrected even after close.

KBHome will build you a decent home quickly. Everything was completed to plan and order, albeit with slightly unacceptable workmanship and small issues. They are extremely slow to resolve issues after closing (if they resolve them at all) so I do recommend you set yourself up for success by not closing until all major things are fixed. I say major things because there will always be small issues with any home builder and thats acceptable. Price is expensive but they give you a lot of options. For the price, however, I would've expected at least a minimum amount of attention to detail. Sales staff is nice but won't communicate quickly and aren't the most knowledgable. I can recommend KBHomes but I must insist you at least get a quote from another lender and you higher an outside home inspector. KBHome likes to offer a lot of money off if you close through their lender (for me they offered $5000 off at closing) but as soon as I went to another lender I realized it wasn't any cheaper because they charged me almost $5000 more in other areas such as "paperwork processing" to make up for the discount. Choose your upgrades carefully, they can really raise the price of your new home! Make sure to get the wiring for fans, better value at the time of building than later! The granite in the kitchen is of a lower grade, and stains very easily, also was not sealed at the time of move in! Still stains even after being sealed! This might be a good upgrade at the time of purchase! Faucets in kitchen and bathrooms are lower grade, but those can be upgraded at a later date!

House is nice and construction seems good in general, but 1 month after I purchased it, the Zillow estimate for my home dropped over 10% !!! The estimate first agreed with the purchase price and the appraisal also agreed. How could it devalue 10% in 1 month unless it wasn't worth the purchase price to start with. Buyers Beware of the valuation at the start or you will feel scammed too, like I do. KB Homes installs vents for circulation from each bedroom to a adjacent common area in the house. These vents in each of 3 bedrooms are directly opposite each other, creating an open window effect. I inquired with the construction supervisor and informed him that I did not want a window that you could look through (and even see my bed in the master bedroom from the living room!!!) He had the audacity to argue that "that's how KB does it in all their homes now for ventilation." We went back and forth with the argument as I explained that you can hear through the vent and SEE DIRECTLY THRU IT. I finally asked him if he would find that acceptable in His Home? He said he didn't like it either, but that's the way they do it, I then proceeded to request that these vents be relocated to more sensible locations to remove the "windows" and restore privacy to the bedrooms. Lo and behold he sent a sub-contractor over to relocate the master bedroom/living room vents to the ceiling and patched up 5 of of the vents. When the apparently NEW worker for the AC company came to do the job, unsupervised in any way, as usual by KB people, he went up in the attic and cut a hole in the ceiling from above (NO TARP OR ANYTHING ELSE) and dropped a lot of debris right onto the brand new flooring in the foyer, and nowhere near the master bedroom. I hollered from below and asked him if he needed a drop cloth or something, and I suggested he use my tarp. Not sure why I even attempted to help him at this point, but he said yes, I grabbed a tarp and asked where he wanted it. He said to put in the Master BR, and I did so. Then he proceeded to cut a hole in the front room (not the master) and drop a lot of debris into the room below and all over the carpet! When I asked why he just did that, he yelled , " I told you to put the tarp in the master BR!" I yelled back , the tarp IS IN THE MASTER BEDROOM!" He then argued, still yelling at me from the attic that he DID just cut a hole in the master BR! Since he did not even know where the master bedroom was, I told him just STOP working immediately and allow me to call the building supervisor. The supervisor called the AC guy's boss and he eventually came over to finish the vents 2 hours later, and explained it was a new worker, etc. This was only 1 problem I had and continue to have with the follow up. I look forward to adding more details to this review when given another opportunity. KB has wasted so much of my time already, I really just need a break. They set 4 hour windows for us to wait for these repairs, and often miss the time and call to extend the wait. The truly act as though we have all the time in the world to waste and repeat this with each sub-contractor that they send over, most every one of which has acted unprofessional in one way or another. When I have complained to the building SV, he has repeatedly throw the vendor under the bus, stating that he is "about to fire that vendor anyway". I finally am left with the understanding that KB is working with cheap, and inadequately skilled laborers. KB presented themselves as a full-service company but simply pass the buck and blame their vendors for everything that is going wrong. There are a lot of companies currently building in this area... The have been several issues with the home that needed to be addressed. After multiple phone calls and an appointed date to get issues resolved, the are still repairs that need to be made and not looked into. We were assured all of our concerns would be addressed and corrected in one visit. That was not truthful.

Daniel came over a couple weeks ago and we scheduled a time to have some repair work done. I took off work for the appointment which was 1 week later and no one showed or bothered to call me.

We have been in our home almost 2 months and talked to the warranty twice and have emailed them and no one seems to care. I am very disappointed.

Still waiting for 10 day issues and thirty day issues to be taken care of

We continue to have electrical issues after the electrician came out and there has been no responses to emails to customer service.

Overall buying a KB Home house has been good, selecting the plot and model was easy. Then came the selections at the home studio, it was ok, there were some selections that they offered and some they did not offer but then when the building process began those items that were offered were taken away with the explanation of "Oh we don't offer that at that location/anymore ect." The items that the home studio said were not available I have seen on several of the other homes, it seems like no one know what was supposed to be offered. Then there were changes made some were beneficial others annoying. The build, you can tell that the builder(s) and contractors rushed through some areas more than others the quality shows and its little simple things. On a daily basis we continue to find things that were not finished or rigged to look finished. Some warranty things have been taken care of however the contractors show up do have the work leave then come out another day do a little work here and there, so you have to take time off work and rearrange your schedule for things that should have been taken care of from the start.
