KB builder is worse than what I expected. The quality in every area is not good!! I’ve called for service to fix the paint after moving in and no one answers and no one calls back when I leave a voicemail. Getting things fixed is not their priority because they are still short handed. I’m still waiting for an appointment confirmation for another issue I saw outside. Did I mention the nails that were left on the floor in my garage, the driveway, and the street when I moved in? I’ll say it again, I will never buy another KB home nor will I recommend KB to anyone.

I waited on doing this review for things to get fixed but Im just constantly let down. Appointments missed, appointments where people come out with no materials, craftsmen coming and making more of a mess, I am just not happy at ALL.

I reported the sliding door is damaged and installed backwards, someone came to look at it and I never heard from anyone again. I had an access panel to space under the stairwell installed and found it was completely full of scrap sheet rock. That just screams we don’t car … why not properly discard scraps instead of leaving them hidden in my house, what else is hidden in my house? I dare not look in the attic. Overall the workmanship in my opinion lacks pride. My opinion has gone down since I moved in.

Still having major issues with the home. And small issues. Calls were never returned notes were never updated or taken a very confusing process poor customer service. They would say they were going to do something but then go back on their word multiple times.

This was not the experience I was expecting when purchasing a new home built from the ground up. Too many issues. Not enough communication. Too many issues after communication. No one seemed to be on the same page. Sales or construction supervisors. Had multiple supervisors the right hand never seem to know what the left was doing.

It was a terrible mistake to buy from KB home which could not deliver in a timely matter with below standard workman ship. Unlike what the company claims that they are number one, I learned the hard way about them with loss of over $20,000 during one year of waiting and responding to unrelated requests for loan documents which was ridiculous like writing essay for marketing properties. I am still waiting to hear from them about some outstanding issues.

the buying process was good minus issues related to the lender. After moving in, I have noticed a lot of poor building. Builders cut a lot of corners thus requiring things to be repaired after. The front door was not aligned properly thus the door will have to be reset, the shower drain in the master bathroom was installed improperly and thus the drain is off by about an inch. Inside the kitchen cabinets, their are screw protruding through about a quarter inch. The air conditioner had no freon possibly for reason that none was initially put in and thus the house was increasing in temperature every night into the mid to high 80s or their is a leak somewhere in the house. HVac worker who came to fix the issue checked for leaks however none were found at this time. If problem persists and the new freon added is quickly used then walls will need to be removed to locate the leak. From the very beginning I was discriminated against by Alex. Which also led to us not using the lender for fear that we would be again discriminated against.

Lack of presence of of the promised appliances on the day of walkthrough like No Stove range, no Microwave. Lot of small issues needed to be addressed and it took almost 45 days after forcing the buyer to close on the property. I had to make repeated requests to make repairs and customer service is NOT customer oriented team at all. KB homes threaten buyers to close on the property when it is NOT move in ready. Very disappointed that as big as KB Homes building umpteen number of homes in the area, conducting in this unprofessional manner taking the joy of owning a new from the buyers. I heard the same complaints from other home owners in the locality. Simply disappointing and frustrating and KB Homes won’t give a hoot and won’t budge in to compensate either. Will never buy another home from the builder I must mention that Scott the sales person and Construction supervisor Chris were professional and nice but my complaint is about the builder. ... More

We do not advise other home buyers to get the idea that you are buying a new home. Home was not and still is not after 2 months 100% completed. Quality of workmanship is lacking and not upheld by supervisors. People seem to have good intentions but actions are not reflecting this. Finance through the entire process was a nightmare, zero communication. I’m a first time buyer and they just uploaded more and more documents with ZERO explanation of what I was supposed to be signing. Finally after a very serious email threatening to back out of the entire thing someone reached out to me and basically told me they just need me to sign, It’s not really important stuff right now, when it is they’ll explain it. Keep in mind these are all financial documents. I put my earnest money down Jan 29th, on a “move in ready” home, my closing was listed as end of march. After pushing it out a week at a time with no updates I finally closed may 5th. Final items on construction list were done hastily and some had to be redone multiple times. Very little work done all of feb or march. Bulk done in April and with most getting finished the final 2 weeks. The entire process had me wanting to back out but I felt like there wasn’t really a better option financially. It was the best price for the size I needed including preowned homes. My lease was ending and I had put all my faith into this endeavor. They had to call in Mario, a different construction supervisor the last two weeks because of how unhappy I was, it is because of him that I went through with it. He communicated and actually explained the delays and seemed like he knew what he was talking about. I closed with only 4 days to move myself from my 2300 sq ft rental and have it inspection ready. Things still need to be fixed that weren’t caught during the final walk. There was a hold up with the electric company that prevented me from switching services for an entire month. I don’t believe the caulk that the painters used during touch up was the right kind or maybe because they painted over it immediately all the paint cracked and it does not look like the what I expected from a BRAND NEW 300k+ home. Most touch ups look like the landlord special. They told me they would do a courtesy paint touch up after everything was moved in. I basically declined it because I had to unpack after work every day and after a month I’m still not done, and after seeing how the last touch up went I’ll just take care of it myself. Flat paint was used throughout the entire house and I was told if you get something on the wall don’t try to wipe it off just paint over it or you’ll rub off the texture. All in all the quality is not even close to what I expected for the price but I just told myself that’s the best you’re going to get in this economy, and I can fix things myself and make them better. ... The entire experience is one of the worst I have ever had and this is the third home that I’ve built. The completion time was twice as long as I was promised, and the quality of the work is mediocre at best. It’s almost impossible to get things resolved off your punchlist. I have been in the house for two months and things that were supposed to be resolved after my 10 day walk-through are still not resolved. It’s only recently that I started dealing with Mike one of the people in charge of this development that I have been able to get things addressed, he is great but the entire experience has been horrific. ... We closed on the home April 20 and I let the builder know that they had 3 weeks to fix the already existing issues until my family moved in on May 12. When we showed up to the house 3 weeks later the house was unfinished. The same issues were still not completed. The house wasn't even cleaned and ready for us to live in it. There are items that we paid for that aren't installed on the house and vice a versa.

Construction took nearly a year. After the move in, there were tons of issues- The builder did not install the correct window in our son’s room and they had to cut the window out and re-install a new one. They made a mess and it took a week for the project to be finished. The power went out for a 1/3 of our home and it wasn’t considered an “emergency”, therefore was not fixed immediately. The loan people at KB were also dishonest and did not act professionally. There were several other issues as well. Overall, KB does not seem to care about their customers. I am in love with the layout of home, however quality isn’t the greatest. I have advised the builder of ongoing issues within the home, I have yet to receive a permanent fix.

We have had MANY issues with the house and NONE have been resolved to date!

While at the end of the day we are happy with the home we purchased, the process to get here was a nightmare. The gross majority of the information received from the KB sales staff and superintendent was inaccurate. Everything from being able to upgrade to St. Augustine grass, to the size of our lot, to lying about when permits were submitted, to assuring us that we would have reclaimed water for irrigation, and the list goes on and on. The construction quality turned out OK, but only because I was at the home site almost every single day and pointed out the very obvious issues and code violations that were included in the initial construction. If I was not there everyday to identify these issues, they would not have been fixed. Anytime we brought up an issue the response from KB management was, "You're welcome to back out of your contract and then we'll resell the home for more than you paid." This is KB's attitude toward their customers. Our home was over 7 months behind schedule. We signed the contract in Dec 2021 and didn't close until April 2023. The delays were due to mismanagement, not supply issues. We found KB completing other homes in our neighborhood that were not under contract until MONTHS after ours. When we brought this up they stated that they mixed up the paperwork and our got pushed to the "bottom of the stack". In the last month of our build - KB brought in the superintendent's manager to take over the completion of our home and working directly with this manager resulted in us getting the home completed. ... Like most builders, they ran months late in delivering. The value for the price paid is low. Poor finishing of the house in the final laps. We had to go after them to get things addressed. It was stressful, time-consuming, and frustrating to deal with a builder that was not customer-centric.

We have been in the house for over 6 weeks and we are still waiting to get issues resolved. The fit and finish was really disappointing. The house was not cleaned when the movers showed up. All we got was empty promises.

Very regular in terms of maintaining the timeline for the house built up V as in customer have to keep an eye on any issues on in the stage you can figure out Lot of things were broken and you should have caught by the construction manager, but it is not done so be very careful dealing with this guys

KB subcontractors do not pay attention to details, appears they just want to finish the job. I found several problems for a new house, heater was not working, gutters were not sealed and leveled correctly when I talked to subcontractor to repair them was reluctant to do it. Roof was missing a tile and some other were not aligned properly and same situation subcontractor did not have disposition to fix the problem I had to insist the roof had problems. More over one window not finished outside is missing a piece, main door entrance not sealed properly, found problems under kitchen island, the list continues. Appears that the house did not have a good inspection by profesional inspectors during construction. Mike the Superintendent were so great in helping me with this house. He made sure things were done correctly and in order. If it wasn’t for him I probably will be talking to an attorney. So many things wasn’t done right and many of the employees that worked for the company seem not to care about how the structure of the house inside and out were being properly built. Mike made sure it was right, thank you Mike for being an outstanding employee.

Stressful, arduous experience building a new home with KB - sub par contractors - sub par Project Managers who didn’t know how to manage a job and the result is a sub par home which I will have to already update and renovate. What should have been an exciting time in my life turned out to be anything but with me having to micro-manage them and beg for the job to be done right - mistake after mistake cost valuable time - took 15 months to get into the house.

Ingrid was terrible, nothing she said or promised was correct. Communication between KB Homes upper management and the individuals listed CAN NOT be worse or those individuals are simply pacifiers to incompetence and cover-ups. Chris however appears to try but is always out of the loop. He should be up to speed on EVERYTHING!

Had worst experience with KB. The build quality is poor. The things they promised were not done before closing. Now we will have to follow up and wait on things. We felt like as if we are buying an old house. Lots of textures and paints were not properly done. Lots of damages to cabinets. If we asked them to fix before closing they were not ready to do it and we were forced to close and get them fixed after closing. Really not worth the price we paid for.
