Complete disregard and lack of expected quality craftsmanship for a $550K home. Lots of cutting corners to push towards a short-deadline closing. Lots of pressure put on building superintendents and managers to close the books on several homes at the same time. First night in the house the thermostat went bonkers and started the A/C when it was 19 degrees outside. Brand new whirlpool oven didn't work for nearly two weeks. 1st time best experience 2nd time was a disappointment

1st house was an amazing experience that when we moved we decided to go with KB again. Bigger and more expensive. I wished we looked somewhere else because theres cracks everywhere. Water comes thru our door. Paint still on our carpet and floor. It has been a bad experience since day 1. From loan process to moving into home.

My what should have been new home

Walls are not straight water got under my home my bathroom is jacked up cracks in my ceiling something about the drywall you can here people using the bathroom you just have no privacy in the home the room on north side is just nuts when someone uses the microwave or bathroom I have real questions with the quality of the material I can get a nail and push it into the drywall no hammer needed my windows have damage and nobody seems to give a

Quality is ok; Service is severely lacking

The value for the price we paid for our new home is okay, despite the continued issues before after move in. However, the communication and service from the construction team and lender were very disappointing. I would highly recommend that future homebuyers stay far far away from KB.

Asked to resubmit my first review bc “doesn’t meet website guidelines “ ... laughable smh... Here’s a summary: Nice staff/responsiveness... 4 stars Value for price .... 3 stars Trustworthiness... 1 star.. lost trust from the very beginning to the end. A pure nightmare Quality... 1 star .. never moved into a new home that was presented new ... (sloppy, debts, splatters, wires etc)

Contractors and studio workers were great but.

Here's my experience, I never had a issue with the contractors. They were probably the shinning star of this company. Everything we talked to them about was done promptly and handled accordingly. We had issues come up with framing and they were promptly handled with the proper care I would expect from a company bidding for my business. The design studio gets a A+ also. I forget the name of the woman who helped us, but she was also a rockstar. She helped us explaining the cost differences and what to expect down the road. Responsiveness of issues after moving in.

Before signing on the closing day there were several issues that were done at last minute like the grading on the left hand side in between houses. By now KB home had worked on this matter several times and stilll not resolve. Also, the were a crack on the ceiling by the dining room area that three different people have tried to fix. The biggest issue is the Grading in between the house. I keep being told that has to do with the city. I know it doesn’t has to do anything with the city. All talk and nothing done

We did our first walk through and we found some things ( scratch tub, wire sticking out of stucco, roof tile missing nails, dead plants and some texture and painting issues). Also the superintendent showed up 30 min late. He said that he would add trim in the garage for being late. A week later was our closing date and it rain 2 days during that week. We had another walk through and the only thin was fixed was the paint and texture issues. He said the they can fix the issues while we are living their. Everyone here is friendly and pleasant.. Terry has been responsive, and has tried to help. However some issues are still unresolved. Eric told me to wait 10 months and everything would get taken care of then. Joe came over and looked at te things that needed addressed and gave me an appointment over a month away.

Steve and Katrina were great. That’s did all the could to make things right. The builder are sloppy, missing paint, holes in door, A C went out 3 times. Door off hinges. I could go on and on. The sales team is awesome. Need hire better builder that cares.

Kb home works with many companies to build 1 home

I don't like that KB home works with so many companies to build 1 home. Quality is not good, Do to this theirs so many cracks and holes. When reporting issues to the superintendent all he does is send you to the customer service number?, which no one ever answers or returns phone calls.

Hit many bumps during the whole process

I wasn't impressed with my sales rep. Buying a new house is a lot of money and I expected top customer service quality (took several days to get a response, did not meet deadlines). Lot of the upgrades are overpriced to the point where it's still cheaper to rip out KB installed finishings and install new ones after closing. Lot of the base finishings is very low quality and that's how they keep prices competitive but get you to pay more to upgrade to something more reasonable. After closing, our After Sales Customer Service representative was also very hard to get in touch with and ignores ...

The initial process with KB Loan Officers and builder was unprofessional; consistently lacking in communication. Neither the loan officers or builder were on the same page on status or updates. The overall construction was okay but responsiveness needs improvement.

Great Sales/Finance Staff, Poor Quality Builder

Overall, very disappointed with our new home. Model homes look great, but the actual build on all the houses in our neighborhood are very poor quality. Cheap materials and even cheaper labor -- skill level of the contractors is abysmal. If you're looking for a quality home in the $325K+ range, look elsewhere.
