Materials used are cheap and coming apart. KB waits until day before 30 day inspection to try and fix things. They never came back to fix the rest of our issues

To begin with, the initial experience was all great where we could pick a lot, pick the floor plan, elevation and choose the structural changes and select the interiors of our liking. Good Things: 1. Since I have moved into my home (and even before closing for that matter) I have had a laundry list of things that were incomplete or not working. These issues range in size from small to large (broken cabinet all the way to leaky irrigation). The lack of communication between KB and their partner companies has been atrocious. Not only that, but the lack of communication to me has been horrible. The overall experience was a shade above terrible. As expected, the home took approximately 12 months from signing the contract to closing. For nearly 8-9 months we dealt with an unresponsive Construction Manager - named Scott and a similarly unresponsive Sales Rep named Bob (Ok. Bob was a tad-bit more responsive but very unreliable). I want to start off by saying Ryan has been trying his best during this time however I’m still extremely dissatisfied with the follow up with issues regarding the home itself. The house I purchased was not new but broken, ruined, damaged.... I overpaid for this home based on the quality and workmanship. I have been requesting repairs for months. These repairs should have been made prior to me purchasing this home. I will never buy a KB home again. I asked for you to take your home back but you refuse to do that. I do not want a KB Home. My opinion is just getting worse not better with each person or issue.

Beginning with getting pre-approval through KB Homes the rep failed to do diligent work and could not get me pre-qualified for VA loan. However, outside loan servicer was able to easily do a qualification for the loan then incentives through Kb Homes were promised and it took multiple levels of leadership to approve this. Closing was pushed twice because Supertindent made promises to complete all work identified in the final walkthrough prior to closing and that did not happen. Over all its just another track home with low quality material & poor workmanship. There are plenty of hairline cracks acros the drywall joints where the tape didn’t have enough mud behind it . The Construction Superintendent tryed to charge me cash for a stone design that was already included in the blue prints. Matt The warranty fellow is terrible at responding the phone, text & emails so far not a great experience. My experience was not great at all. Everything was rushed to close hearing from other workers around working on the home. I was told that KB rushes homes to get #’s skipping big quality checks. employees get treated like numbers no value to the home buyers just searching for good surveys to getting popularity numbers and land to keep building. I’ll be selling my home due to so many things to fix and chasing warranty and kb superiors to resolve once I finished my survey I was let go and no one reached out. Been in the house only a few months and we've already decided at the end of the year we're going to sell. Multiple issues including leaks, countertop issues, issues with appliances, paint issues , quality issues, customer service issues, landscaping issues, and more. Customer service has been extremely useless with the exception of one or two helpful incidents. I will never purchase another KB home in my life. What was supposed to be our forever home has now just turned into a short-term living situation.

This was extremely stressful - starting with the price I was quoted going up $3k bc my salesman went on a vacation. Ktichen Tile was wrong had to be pulled out, wrong sales sheets, had to fight for the deposit I gave to Design Center to show on sales closing sheet, lots of errors financially I had to keep on top of. Contractor refused to fix problems pointed out my home inspector. They insisted I fly in for closing on 11/30 and the home was NOT even CLOSE to being able to close. Don’t close until absolutely everything is fixed!!!

The build was late. 2 months after living in the house and we have NEVER had a working microwave. Issues have been outstanding since moving in, week after week we’re told ‘it will be done this week’ and nothing ever ends up happening. It makes it worse that these are minor issues that could all be done within an hour or 2. It’s annoying as it is a prime example that KB hire works with poor workmanship that obviously don’t take pride in their work, these items were obviously also overlooked by the management who should have picked it up.

While the home KB delivered is certainly a fine home, I'd wager there are ways to get a fine home with less headache. After being in the home a while, it's clear where some costs were cut. Certain things were unfinished or wrong: a chandelier with no lightbulbs, the door to the garage was installed backward, a nail sticking out of the stairs, a shrub promised in the front that has never been installed, several dozen large nails left on the deck/backyard.
