I would not recommend to my friends to buy KB Home and totally frustrating with those false statements. they will not be considered once we have closed down homes.

There was a long list of issues that were documented prior to closing that I am still struggling to remediate. Some of the issues were dealt. However, big ticket items like kitchen cabinet is still pending with no visibility to resolution. The Sales staff, Construction Staff, and Customer Service staff are NOT the problem. The Staff are all super nice. But the process doesn't lead to resolutions. Had I known that the warranty claims process would be this time-consuming, I would have never closed on the house. Buying a KB home feels like I am dealing with an insurance firm, where getting claims dealt takes forever with zero visibility to issue resolution. ... More

KB had a lot of supply chain and labor problems as did all builders. So they rushed the inspection process to get to closing and get my money. After that it has been like pulling teeth to get them to finish the items that they PROMISED to take care of. Now that winter has set in I expect most items will not be addressed until spring. In retrospect, I would recommend have your own inspector submit a report before closing and to not close until the items are addressed. Don't count on KB to fix things after you close. And they continually harassed me top submit this review, so here it is.

Do not let them bully you into signing if you're not satisfied.

WoW, the home build quality is as low as it can get. Exemplifies that the company is having severe trouble engaging skilled workers compared to its competitors. Every. corner of the house displays extremely poor workmanship (walls, ceilings, paint, baseboards, doors etc.). I am hoping that the framing, electrical work, plumbing is ok). Will only find out after some time elapses. The biggest culprit though is poor responsiveness to get the issues addressed by the construction operations. They are busy building homes and then closing them as soon as possible to get money without any sincere intention to ensure homes are delivered with quality nor on providing good customer service. No wonder, survey conducted for home owners (who closed on their Gomes since 2021) shows that Kbhome is ranked at the rock bottom of the 20 builders based on the quality of its delivered home and customer satisfaction. The house was not ready at the time of delivery, it was even closed two months ago and the house still needs things to fix, the bathroom window, drywall, cabinets with damage, which are supposed to be new and they went and patched it up. I think that when you buy something new it is new and not patched up since I paid for a completely new house It's been two months since I moved and it hasn't been 100% complete I only had 1 walk and 1 day before closing I think it is disrespectful to the buyer that we pay for good quality and service which has not been provided to me.

My home took 14 months to "complete". I'm STILL missing a doorknob, but of the knobs I do have, 3 have randomly fallen off. The ENTIRE upstairs creaks incesantly. There is a crack in my ceiling, 2 doors don't close completely, water pools in the backyard, porch is missing bricks, roof has issues, siding, large space between the cabinet and wall, no caulking in areas, flooring is cut poorly (it doesn't even meet the wall in some areas). In the amount of time it took to complete this house, its shameful to have so many issues. But I digress... I'm actually really sad about thinking about it. The new Superintendent (I think that's his title), Duane is been made aware and is working to rectify issues... I hope he doesn't leave or get moved. He's been helpful. Honesty, integrity absent. Felt unrepresented, our fault should have not trusted our sales agent. Things discussed not honored due to not using KBs rude, incompetent Lender. Some $$ towards house taken away from us. Was told by sales “oh no, you can use your own lender and still get $2500 regardless, but not the $5000”. We understood, KB also took that $2500 away, feel a punishment for not using there lender. “ Oh it’s in contract you could lose it”! So was say will receive regardless of who we use? Took 14 months to build a small under 1900 sq ft. home. Felt like KB wanted us to back out. In turn our Interest rate hurt us. Did walk thru. Nothing we pointed out was done, now seems it will not. Cracked patio we paid for. Told by sales our appliance would be scratch resistant, had a mar in middle was told be taken care of at walk thru it wasn’t. It’s does not clean without horrid streaks and we had to pay extra to purchase. Will not do anything for us. Kitchen sink leaking upon move in, no one yet has came to fix. Have a towel and pot underneath. Ceiling seams visible, only to find ceiling was separating thru great area and hallway. Did someone to fix, then stopped him. He BTW was great. Had to extensively screw drywall to 2x4s as ceiling was sagging. Huge crack in our hallway he was suppose to finished it was stopped. We believe he was reprimanded for doing it right, hallway not finished, now no one sent to paint over seams, just a complete stop. Cracked tiles, one loose. Driveway and garage door never power-washed, as well driveway looks mismatched in color, dirt brown, and garage door filthy. Left hole in yard, did not fill in just put sod over it. Gravel, not dirt under areas of sod. Door seal, large gap front door 2. back door seals looks old and used, looks bad. Btw was told that would be taken care of it. Mismatched baseboards kitchen, living room, which we paid extra for. No foam insulation around stove vent or sink. In our minds criminal to pay so much for shoddy work, untruths, dishonesty in many areas. ... More

So we bought a house 7 Oct. we did not like the experience with KB. When they offered a high APR & wanted us to buy down the rate. We went to our lender that offered way lower APR but then KB wanted to match it but wanted my lender to do a promise letter. Neither lenders wanted to do this so this took up time. We had refused to go with KB if they were going to match it because of they could match it now then they could have matched it in the beginning. Unfortunately we had to go with KB because they refused to give us the $4000 rebate and closing cost. Then it was a rush to do the walk through of the house. We closed on 7 Oct. walk through was 4 Oct. 2nd walk through was 6 Oct & did this not give them enough time to fix thing we found or that the inspector found. We got, “yes, that got fixed” when it didn’t. The AC gate was bent and that didn’t get replaced during the initial, 2nd walk through or the 30 day walk through. So this makes me doubt that they got any of the other things fixed. We are still waiting for things to be fixed and we are two months into living in this house. ... More

I am sure every builder has issues but working with KB was not something I would do ever again. The issues never stopped and they don’t truly care about your experience. You are just another sale.

We sign the contract September after 1 year almost ready to be closed, we was ask to closed even though we know the house is not complete because the sale person and construction was very nice to us and they need to submit the quota to corporateans also promise to finish the house in 30 day so we did a Favor by trusting but boy we are so wrong I moving in 2 month my house still not complete yet we have submit multiple warranty and have a construction supervisor know they alway come up with excuses and promise but never do anything. So disapointed and upset at the same time.

Not so great experience. Not honored the words spoken.

This is me and my wife first home.The experience wasn't pleasant at all. We understood the pandemic situation and also we understood there may be hiccups the things we couldn't understand how we came into a walk thru that was full of trash our home was not completed when I mean complete is a lot of things that was just throwed together and then communication wasn't that pleasant at first but it seems if you give a bad review or they want you to do a survey they call you more consistently. Our KB home experience was terrible. From the sales team, to the finishing touches on our new home, our overall experience was one of the worst. Our sales rep showed little to no support or effort during our building process. Her knowledge of timelines and the overall process was lacking. Our Head contractor and Lender were awesome. However, since we have moved in, the individual in charge of repairs has done little to nothing, and we have had to hound him just to get fixes completed. (To little prevail) We have sent in many requests to have our complaints addressed, but KB home has not rendered any solution. We absolutely do not recommend buying from KB home. ... More

It has been almost 2 months since we moved in and our cabinets and drawers are still missing.

Overall quality of workmanship is poor. Especially the paint job. The floor is covered with paint drops. Nothing was fixed after 2 walk through. Get the run around and excuses. Windows are getting discolored. List is too long. The list was emailed to KB representatives.

Bad!! Cheap materials; broken promises. Flooded the building—both upstairs and downstairs. Electrical appliances/fixtures all messed up My water heater stopped working. Bad!!! I’ll be building another in 2 yrs hopefully, but never KBHOMES.

Quality of material is so bad. Design is unreasonable. Overpriced

Steve and Jeff tried their best, but KB does not care about quality, just pumping out houses for profit!

Sale rep and construction not on the same page, various items not completed prior to final walk through. Slow to f/u with ticket claims with home warranty service advisor for community. Overall not a great experience.

Great floor plans...that's the only positive thing I can say. It took over a year from down payment to close for a 1647 sq ft single story house...which wasn't even totally complete when we moved in. This was my 4th new build and even the house built by a high school construction class was far superior in both materials and workmanship. Definitely would NOT recommend a KB home.

Paint workmanship inside of the home is 2 out of 5 ratings. We've repainted many walls ourselves already. A few repair requests made in mid-May 2022 are still pending as of June 28, 2022. Responsiveness to issues is horrible.

Worst home buying experience ever. We will never buy a KB home again.

I hoped that for the price we paid for our home that we would be treated like valued customers, unfortunately, that has not been the experience at any point during the sale, build, or post-build process. We have been on our own, have received very little communication and our issues have been passed off from one person to another. Very disappointed in KB Homes. Our pre-close walk-through was a joke and we were told everything would be taken care of through warranty. Post-close we failed to receive our 10-day inspection, finally received a call for our 30 day inspection and it took over a month to get crews in for touch-ups and corrections, still not fixed. Cheap products used, No communication. No support through post-move in work. No one to call and no one seems to care. ... More
