We closed before the certificate of occupation was issued and could not move in until a day after signing. The house has many issues from poor construction to a yard that floods. The poor construction was identified and we were told that it would be fixed. We are now over a month into this process and very little has been fixed and nothing major.

There are so many things that were overlooked, I wish that I’d had done better research into all the complaints with kB home before.

Sales staff (Theresa), GC (Glendon, Oz), warranty (Jaime)and design center (Jenna) personnel were great, responsive and awesome to work with so our scores don’t reflect on them in anyway. Current issues or qestions are dealt with quickly. Issues brought up to higher personnel during build were never corrected or solutions were never offer so we were stuck what we got. The renderings did not match our final product because that’s all we could go off of. The materials (stone, paint and elevation)were altered and not addressed with us on how it would “really” look. VP didn’t want to correct an exterior we didn’t like or select, or even offer another solution to any of our concerns or discrepancies, “sucks to be you” outcome. House wasn’t even completed on closing day and kb homes didn’t even have paperwork ready to close when they picked the date to close. Craftsman ship is disappointing. Got my microwave stolen while in building phase. Landscaping is dying and uneven and mostly dirt and grass. Sodding isn’t even up to code. Cracks In driveways and inside garage and only lived in for 2 months. They said the settling is “normal” but the cracks will only get worse down the road.

Too bad for warranty,I have problems on countertop and then I wait long time ,nobody help

Over all its just another track home with low quality material & poor workmanship. There are plenty of hairline cracks acros the drywall joints where the tape didn’t have enough mud behind it . The Construction Superintendent tryed to charge me cash for a stone design that was already included in the blue prints. Matt The warranty fellow is terrible at responding the phone, text & emails so far not a great experience. A few things need to be repaired such as my front door being unsquared, my dryer braker is completely out , and also the GFCI outside patio outlet trips every time i plug something in . My experience was not great at all. Everything was rushed to close hearing from other workers around working on the home. I was told that KB rushes homes to get #’s skipping big quality checks. employees get treated like numbers no value to the home buyers just searching for good surveys to getting popularity numbers and land to keep building. I’ll be selling my home due to so many things to fix and chasing warranty and kb superiors to resolve once I finished my survey I was let go and no one reached out. I would not recommend to my friends to buy KB Home and totally frustrating with those false statements. they will not be considered once we have closed down homes.

My home took 14 months to "complete". I'm STILL missing a doorknob, but of the knobs I do have, 3 have randomly fallen off. The ENTIRE upstairs creaks incesantly. There is a crack in my ceiling, 2 doors don't close completely, water pools in the backyard, porch is missing bricks, roof has issues, siding, large space between the cabinet and wall, no caulking in areas, flooring is cut poorly (it doesn't even meet the wall in some areas). In the amount of time it took to complete this house, its shameful to have so many issues. But I digress... I'm actually really sad about thinking about it. The new Superintendent (I think that's his title), Duane is been made aware and is working to rectify issues... I hope he doesn't leave or get moved. He's been helpful. So we bought a house 7 Oct. we did not like the experience with KB. When they offered a high APR & wanted us to buy down the rate. We went to our lender that offered way lower APR but then KB wanted to match it but wanted my lender to do a promise letter. Neither lenders wanted to do this so this took up time. We had refused to go with KB if they were going to match it because of they could match it now then they could have matched it in the beginning. Unfortunately we had to go with KB because they refused to give us the $4000 rebate and closing cost. Then it was a rush to do the walk through of the house. We closed on 7 Oct. walk through was 4 Oct. 2nd walk through was 6 Oct & did this not give them enough time to fix thing we found or that the inspector found. We got, “yes, that got fixed” when it didn’t. The AC gate was bent and that didn’t get replaced during the initial, 2nd walk through or the 30 day walk through. So this makes me doubt that they got any of the other things fixed. We are still waiting for things to be fixed and we are two months into living in this house. ... More

Quality of material is so bad. Design is unreasonable. Overpriced

I would not buy a KB home again.

As the home was being built there was no electricity to the home. All the workers were working during the winter months in the dark! I visited property all the time. Couldn't see any details. Like grayish toilets, crooked layout of flooring. So many cabinet issues. Paint is completely washing off the walls. It is the lowest quality. Porcelain sinks are also that recycled off color of gray! Cheapest possible starting point. Fiberglass showers and tubs. No windows in garage door. Zig zag saw cuts under the sinks. 2 cent medicine cabinets. Drywalled over a canned light. Crooked facia, bowing fence. On & on. I'm use to new homes and the issues, but this is my 4th new home and I am shocked. ... More

So if you're a 1st time homebuyer with no options, then this may be the right builder for you. Here's my process from beginning to end. Go into the sales office and take a look at the houses and decide if you want to buy or not. After that you get put on a waiting list where their mortgage officer takes at least a whole month to reach out to you after being told week after week from your sales rep that someone should be reaching out to you. Finally, the mortgage officer sees if you're qualified by giving you a ridiculous loan that sticks with you till closing day (so go with another lender). Then months go by before your sales rep finally reaches out to you to setup design studio appointments. The first appointment is virtual, so you'll have to go off your best guess if you want something or not based on pictures. Then second appointment is where you can see the material in your house in person; once all your choices, and you've paid up; you can't change anything. Even if they haven't started construction. Now the best part is the construction where you're excited to see how your house will turn out. You'll have to watch them build because they'll forget the things you've picked, so it's very important that you watch them closely. You get 2 reviews to see how far the house has come, and make suggestions/improvements. Now here comes to the closing process. Once you've signed off on your incomplete house (that they promise to fix); you get to close on it. After living in the house for 2 months you've come to find out that they won't fix the things they've promised to fix. For example, I've been out of a microwave for 2 months. There's some minor details I wish that were taken care of, but hey it was my mistake for trusting them. The house is nice, so that's why there's 2 stars instead of 1. ... More

Lack of attention to detail in workmanship. The poles and shelving I paid extra for is now collapsing in one room. The paint job is horrible!

This was my first experience buying a home and it was ruined. I never got the wow excitement experience because everywhere I looked there was something wrong. Careless things like holes in brand new wall and paint on things that should not have paint on them. The worse issue of all was the worker ate in the unfinished home and left behind a mess a 1 year old child would leave. Additionally, they tried to force me to close on an unfinished home. Twice I went to closing and the bright orange stain from food was still there. In my opinion they stall and take to long fixing things from careless mistakes. I have a hole in one of my bedrooms from a careless plumbing incident. It’s been two weeks and they still haven’t completed the job. When people buy a brand new home they want to move in and relax without interruption. At this point it feels like they or still fixing structural issue that should be addressed during the building period. I would never build another home with KB. ... More

Do not buy a home or enter an agreement to buy a HB HOME! Would NOT RECOMMEND, EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY if I had one.

We closed in late September. That same weekend our entire kitchen and most of our LVP had to be ripped out because of water damage caused by a faulty dishwasher setup. We were in the house for nearly a month, then found out we had mold. We have since been removed from the home awaiting remediation. This has been an absolute nightmare, but we are working through the remaining issues. Additionally, the overall build quality was average at best with some areas still needing repairs or rework. All of this after almost two months after closing. I wouldn't do it again.

To slow building houses, that’s why people turn around and change their mind to buy a property. The finish touch of the properties are not professionally, such as back slight door not safe and get misplace every time is opening, worst outside water plumbing connection to the house, faucets, no compact flat terrain with the grass, ship materials to build up a house. Etc.

We have had 21 warranty issues from structural to Flooding, to stress fractures in drywall, too many to list. The list has been submitted many times and only 7 items have been completed. Can't get any service from Whirlpool for the dishwasher and its still sitting on our carpet and floor haven't been installed. We are very disappointed in the Customer Service area of KB.

Date given for closing -house wasn’t ready. Once closing was done a multitude of inappropriate installments were noted.. For example: shower pan was installed it had a crack and empty spaces underfoot. Requested a new one and the gentleman stated it was malfunction from the manufacturer and they didn’t understand why it was installed. The shower door leaked due to little to no silicone per gentleman removing it. After replacing shower pan plastic cover not removed because it was no one’s job. So we removed it and caulking around tile and pan has yet to be redone 3 weeks later. The grout between pan and tile floor also has not been done. The walls had broken Sheetrock installed bulging the walls. Still waiting for that repair. The grounds was never leveled and lowest grade of grass applied so the landscape is uneven and a hazard. They totally made a mess of the garage floor and took it upon themselves to epoxy it to cover the screw up without consulting the buyer. The door frames appear to be the rejects so are the cheapest you can buy as you see the dents at different parts of the wood. Paint is watered down so if you pass a rag you see the sheetrock The cabinets ill painted and toe kicks 1” short throughout the house. Kyle- superintendent Chris warranty manager Johnny brought in to take over for Kyle all talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. All they are concerned with is how I was going to relate them. Looking for a ten I gave them an opportunity to make the corrections. They would call one company at a time and then book 2-3 weeks out. When asked for phone numbers for warranty department it has never been provided. Requested all companies be called simultaneously since they didn’t interfere with one another. That never happened it wasn’t even acknowledged. These were my major concerns. Advice to future KB HOME buyers- Don’t buy from KB Avoid the stress, headache and waste of time for services needed to be completed. I was told KB ‘s tactics is to waste time until your warranty is over. I believe in seeing the good in people but I guess I should have listened to the ones I trusted. Lesson learned. ... More

I haven’t been in my house for two months and things are falling apart. Very cheap materials and poor construction. Very unimpressive.

I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND KB HOMES TO ANYONE, IT'S THE WORST BUILDERS, VERY CHEAP AND POOR QUALITY!!! IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MY HOME, WISH I WOULD HAVE WENT WITH ANOTHER BUILDER!!!
