I had a terrible experience, my house was delivered missing things to do, on the day of my closing there was no CO. They still have a lot of things to finish in the house and after I gave the bad review after 30'days. Everyone disappeared. I don't recommend that you buy a house with KbHome. Not to mention that the Sales Vendor doesn't understand anything about the place because he was asked before if he was allowed to park the cars on the street, and he said no. But in fact there is nothing that prohibits, because the street here is controlled by the city!

When they deliver the property , process is unprofessional, didn’t like the way sales office did , I don’t even have my mailbox keys

Once I closed on the property and now moved on to working directly with the worker regarding warranties and all other matters- the entire experience became an absolute nightmare. I was mistreated because I scored the first part of my buying experience at 7 over 10- there’s an avid score system that KB send out to buyers after close of escrow. So from that point in order to get things done, including promises their employees made, I was required to first provide a score of 10 on their avid rating. I declined and expressed my concerns to upper management and was pretty curbed ever since. I sent out emails to their corporate office and that too made no difference at the time of this review. I even went as far to show text message communications between myself and their staff as factual evidence to support my claims - that’s too was swept under the rug. Currently, there 9 issue with my brand new home one of which is a huge concern for me- concrete with large pieces of metal pointing out that was hidden beneath bark by the builders. I have small children and fear possible lacerations to their foot areas if encountered. Currently waiting to see if the division president will follow through with having these issues fixed. ... Your company suck. Wouldn’t tell my worst enemy to buy from your company

Kbhomes dont care about clients issues or try to resolves them. All they want is to close the home.

All electricity and water have problems, insects throughout and outside. I tried to contact but they were too late to fix them

We were promised moon but then during closing things were still not done. Commitments were broken and no communication whatsoever

If faults are found with code violation and bad workmanship, they tend to brush it under the rug and state that 'THIS IS HOW WE BUILD KB HOMES!"

Appliances are not working. Build quality is really bad. Even after 2 months closing still lot of issues.

My experience with KB homes since closing on my home has been absolutely terrible. Can't get anything resolved. Workmanship is geeible as things are starting to fall apart 2 months later. I am extremely disappointed

I would never recommend KB to anyone not after the experience I’ve had if things would be done right the first time by KB home builders you wouldn’t have these issues you’re lying to your clients you’re lying to your buyers. You’re doing things that are not correct you’re cutting corners just to save money in the long run. It’s gonna end up costing you more. You are unfair and unethical. Shame on you.

Too many issues to list, workmanship is subpar, KB says they will send back contractors to make repairs and nothing gets followed up on. Disappointed, just bought the home and considering trying to sell it.

House was 3months late and was dirty didn't clean alot of issues with house paint broken window garage is a mess leaking breaker pooping just bad work all around I was promised to fix garage never fixed it saying they can't.....

Bought house based off model home, before home was even built. Closed on home, late by the way, only to find out I have a 4’ tall fence in back yard on one side. (HOA walkway side) so now I can not have a dog bc it will jump the fence. I have absolutely no privacy in back yard at all. It’s on a major walkway so everyone passing by can see into my yard unless they are under 4’ tall!!! The home quality is cheap. Similar to CBH Corey Barton homes is known for building homes with the cheapest materials. When I brought this up to the kb rep, he said they had to do this bc the city had a “clear view” fence requirement for some of the houses. So I walked next street over and found these fences in the same type of walkway area that satisfy the “clear view” requirement. It is a diff builder. Should have bought from them!! Unable to post a pic. But fence is basically 4’ tall and then the last two feet in height, are pickets with 4” spaces between them so you still can have a “clear view” fence per city requirement. I checked w Boise fencing and this is about $2-$3 a LF diff. Minus whatever bulk discount they get for doing 6k LF of fencing in the development. My house is about 60LF so that about $120-$180 total so I can have a dog in the home I bought. The drainage doesn’t get rid of water. I have standing water all over the back yard. It just shows that they hurried and built this with the least amount of care and as fast as they could. ... More

The doors are crack and they just trying covering and the floor has little dots of paint and the walls have touch ups as well and if it’s a brand new home everything has to be new no tounch ups

Worst experience ever don't buy a home from kb

Horrible sales experience with Kelly. Constant miscommunication with superintendent Daniel. Major issues with home finish interior & exterior. Sewer backup with 2 weeks of move in 3 calls to customer service and had to call our own plumber. Island counter top broken at install, major drywall issues, garbage disposal outlet not hooked up, dryer outlet not working, block wall damage. Tub & shower damage. Stucco damage. Sewer clean out in garage above grade and trip hazard. Customer service reps entering backyard without permission or consent with dog on premises. KB customer service rep has been at home every week since we moved in 1 1/2 months ago for repairs, with still ongoing issues not resolved. Have to move out of home for 5 days for repairs on ceiling drywall that delayed us getting our keys 5 days after close of escrow, but was not completed as superintendent stated it would be. I did not have a good 9 months experience with the house. A lot of delays, people not keeping their word and worst off I couldn’t live in my house due to plumbing issue. No one addresses my concern until 3 days after we called the emergency service line 5 times and worse part kb told me they would do my backyard landscape to make up the damages. Also kb does not take ownership of their mistakes and brush it off like they don’t care about the home buyer

Our experience has been a nightmare. There is not enough room in this space to properly explain all of the problems we've incurred. Pushing sales people, uncooperative staff, mismanaged build, delays, delays, delays, inspections not passed, poor trades work, very poor and upon moving in after two months work still needs to be completed. Newest development is finding possible mold in our attic and having to WAIT for the warranty department to get back with us. In the meantime, we are living in a house that may or may not be safe to live in. I will guarantee you that no one at KB Homes lives in one of the houses they've built because they make enough money to buy something with quality and good workmanship. KB Homes has sent me 10 emails asking me to complete this survey and also numerous texts asking the same. Feels a bit like harassment. KB Homes wants us to have patience and understanding while we wait for their warranty department to get back with us. That is long gone now. Multiple issues with the KB house after we moved in. You have to file claims to fix these issues and it takes long time for the construction problems to be fixed. All appointments are scheduled during my work hours. Do I need to quit my job or hire a house sitter to be at home for all these after purchase repairs? It was the worst decision of my life to buy a new construction/KB home

KB never sent us our AC warranty. When we called to address the issue they just said it had expired even tho it was their fault for not sending it. Now we have no AC warranty. The tree in the front was dead before moving in and never replaced it. When I called they just said they cant do it. Our garage door has been defective for 3 months. Three mechanics have come and still haven’t fixed the door. The quality of the work is horrible and cheap. Pipes are made of plastic and not copper which means they won’t last long before they break or leak. The exterior stucco is already falling off and the exterior paint is already patchy. Baseboards and door frames are cheap, out of angle, and chipped. They claim the interior paint is flat alabaster but it feels like cheap primer and gets dirty by just looking at it. Smoke alarms go off for no reason sometimes even with brand new batteries. Not a single window is leveled and the have mud bumps which causes gaps thru my blinds allowing light to get thru. Stairs handrail is not the color I paid for and superintendent said it was even tho I showed him a picture of what I ordered they push you to believe that you’re wrong so you keep the product. There were defectively stained cabinets which I paid extra for, but the superintendent said he could not replace them and we had to keep them. I’m never buying from KB again and can’t wait to sell this cheap house. I feel like I’ve been robbed/scammed. Customer service is horrible and nobody has answers. I can’t remember how many times they said “I don’t know”. I need to get out of this house ASAP. The buying process was easy, as expected since they just wanna get paid. Delayed closing date, so I had to close it quickly without inspecting a house thoroughly. There were a lot of flaws that a 3rd party inspector couldn’t see. Moreover, No follow-up care after closing.

My experience with KBHomes turned horrific right after giving my deposit. Our home was to be ready in about 8 months but 2 weeks after my deposit we only had 2 weeks to make decisions on upgrades which in my case turned out to be $45k which i also had to make another deposit on top of the earnest money. which turned out to be over $53k from there it became a nightmare i was at their mercy i could not cancel they had me . They don’t care about the quality of their work , they rush and it’s all about the mighty dollar. Their designs sucks my bathroom door on the first floor hits the toilet seat incredibly you would think this guys would avoid that but they just don’t give a crap. Their stupid studio they call does not have what they display we had to choose a different tile color and size, i had no choice i didn’t want a sink with cabinet on first bathroom i wanted a pedestal like i have at my home and these idiots force me to get it which cost me more money. walk thru we had to do 3 so they can get it right paint all over my tile, scuffed marks on the walls i finish with this . STAY AWAY from this guys they will take your money they are Thieves in Wolves clothing , they suck i am so MAD at these jerks I want to get rid of the house so bad . Sincerely Hector F ... More
