KB home is terrible, I regret buying my first home with them, and everything in the house is broken and not properly put together. They’re management team sucks and all they do is bluff and talk and don’t get the work done when things need to get fixed. I am grateful to be a homeowner but I wish it wasn’t KB. I would rather go to dr Horton, yet they wanna complain their customers aren’t satisfied and get upset that we’re upset with them, I feel like I brought a 50 year old house because of they built everything in and out the house but complain when I say things are not done.

Please, save yourself the massive headache and avoid KB Home and KB Mortage at all costs. My first time buying a home and I regret it! From the start there has been nothing but problems, from lost earnest check to failed promises this entire experience was a joke. When dealing with anyone that is “ a supervisor” the buck gets passed off and you end up working with the same person you complained about and didn’t want to work with due to total incompetence (mortage side especially) On top of that the house has so many issues that it’s nearly laughable. First time opening my front door the trim fell off, which isn’t even one of the major issues. No one gets held accountable when nothing gets fixed or done either, so have fun spending a ton of your time and energy to get nowhere! If you get Lisa for your mortage, demand someone different as she can’t communicate for the life of her, even confusing my broker who’s done this for over 10 years. Due to her and her manager Erick’s lack of work ethic, integrity and honesty I had my close date moved back multiple times to the point I got my keys at 5pm on the last day of the month giving me 0 time to leave my rental property costing me hundreds of dollars ... They said was getting the model home only bigger. It was jot the model home it was very different no shutters, no railway, no rock outside the house. So felt very mislead. The dryer wiring was done incorrectly, the house was dirty upon move in, grout still not done in some rooms. Outlets not working. They literally put the cheapest materials possible toilets seats brand new were sliding all over the place had to replace screws. Paint wad only one thin coat you barely bump it or wash it comes off and leaves a bare spot in the wall. Cabinets were unfinished in bathroom and kitchen. They promise they will get to it in a timely manner but never show up. Or text a few minutes before coming with no wchedule and say we are coming. The house was poorly built snd through together as fast as possible with little quality and charged top dollar. Issues still not fixed. Has been beyond frustrating i cannot reccomend kn homes to anyone. ... More

Post closing don’t expect much, so make sure everything is checked twice and checked again. No matter how insignificant it may seem make sure it’s done. Addressing issues after close is done at KBs convenience. On 4 separate occasions I stayed how waiting as scheduled and agreed and no one showed up. They did show up at their convenience when I was either working or had something else scheduled, regardless if they are contractors or subs they are agents of KB and should be respectful of your time and privacy. Overall just a bad experience and regret purchasing home, which sucks.

Very poor quality home and facing lot of issues with new home

Loan process was easy until it came time to close all these excuses if what was needed or missing kept pushing closing back a week then back another week! Upgrades in home have poor craftsmanship dings scrapes & scratches on upgraded cabinets Tub insert not connected to wall attachment this creates repairmen to come make a mess to fix the issues that should have been completed correctly in the first place Holes in ceilings around fire sprinkler and around outlet covers Faulty plumbing causing flooding in the house first day we moved in

Closing was set for March 24th. I did everything on my end to make it happen. The house needed at least another month's worth of work to complete along with a water leak in a bathroom. It was ridiculous to see. No hole for a dryer vent, broken trim, concrete in the garage a total disaster with spills and chipped concrete along with noticeable cracks already. Finally closed on May 15th with issues still existing. As for the inside of the house, I told the Superintendent I would finish the inside of the house myself because it was obvious the subs don't care about quality and don't have pride in their work. Some of the subs were outstanding in their work as far as flooring, kitchen stove, AC, and sprinkler system. The painters and trim sub contractors are terrible. And to have a toilet paper holder over 4 feet from the toilet is so laughable and I shared it with the Superintendent. The cost of this house as to the quality is totally lacking and way over priced. The Superintendent is a good man, but he doesn't have the ability to get quality workers to finish homes correctly and I can tell it bothers him. If I would have known KB Home was this bad with the finished product and what they try to sell you, I would have never done this and I will not recommend KB to anyone I know or care about. I also doubt this review will ever be considered because I have seen how the subs are allowed to turn out a product that does not meet the standards of quality. The worst decision you can make is to buy a Kb home. From the service to the craftsmanship of the home, staying away is the best thing you can do for yourself and your family.

This had to be one of the most stressful purchase and move we had ever experienced. I’ll start at the beginning with the loan officer, our loan officer matt gave us some expectation he was not able to keep. He was very unreliable, he would say I’ll call you and he would never do. During the whole process we were left in the dark, he was more worried about his personal business he had on the side than his actual job. We had no idea where our loan was in the process and on top of that we stressed to him the importance of setting our closing date because we were moving from Delaware to Texas and we had to move our closing date two times because he dropped the ball on turning in our documentation into the processing department even though we kept calling him to see if our paperwork had already been sent to the processing department to get our loan in the process. We were told that to compensate for the loan officers negligence we would be getting a garage door opener and that has yet to be installed in our home. The fun does not end here, my family and I get to Texas and not only was our house not ready the quality of craftsmanship has left me dumbfounded. There are so many discrepancies in the home and even though I have reached out to the project manager at least once a week I feel like we are left on the back burner since already moved in, not to mention we have been living here for over a month and have yet to be able to set up trash service or water under my name because the certificate of occupancy has not been released. This experience has really taken me by surprise because my wife and I had a purchased KB home in the past and the quality of craftsmanship was high and the experience was smooth but now it feels like a lot of corners were cut. ... I’ve had a leaking roof in my starlight kb home in the Central Park area for 5 weeks!! KB has sent the same roofer out three times and they have still not fixed my roof. It actually seems to be getting worse. I’ve also had my dishwasher broken, my AC not working. I have a hole in my siding and holes in the flashing of my outside fireplace that let mice get into my walls, and they scratch behind my daughters headboard in her bedroom. Nobody’s come out to seal the hole or the flashing or make sure that the mice are out of my walls. I’ve had a pond in my front yard from the neighbors sump pump, constantly running and leaking into my yard. I’ve had a leak in my indoor plumbing that went into the basement and I had drywall damage. All of the weatherstripping and window seals on my windows are falling off. The refrigerator molding is torn, and I have no power in my office or guestroom and haven’t for over a month. so, I’m Not exactly satisfied. And these are just the big things. ... More

Stop and reconsider. The sales manager is the worst person and provides awful customer service. He want me to desist from buying the house, and he was glad that that was the outcome. I persisted because otherwise they would have kept my deposit. The lender that they offer is literally unresponsive. I closed with another lender and never received an answer from KB home lender… why? They offer 10k closing cost assistance, but is just a trick! They did not provide me anything or give me information on why. The sales team was NOT present when I closed on the home… they avoided me! I got the keys in a bag on the garage… the only person greeted us where contractors that were still painting the home and cleaning… obviously they had no clue who we were. The house was delivered dirty, a knife blade on the kitchen countertop, bottles with paint open on the floor, it’s was horrible. We had not heard anything from KB home customer service about this… even as I competed a survey already… so that proves that they really don’t care about you. They only want you to blindly fill these surveys to make them look good on social media, but in reality their customer service is bad. ... More

The finance team was great. Very responsive and never did they my address my questions or concerns. The builder, however, has not been trustworthy. The first superintendent behaved as if I was irrational in expecting him to properly fix issues. The second superintendent dropped the ball and is now attempting to schedule contractors to come out. All the while I have to request time off from work to address issues that were identified and assured would be fixed prior to closing. I am incredibly disappointed and appalled at some of the requests made. I held my end of the bargain. I hope that KB Homes will finally fix the problems and stop the process of inconveniencing me. The superintendent should have never accepted the crappy workmanship of the subcontracting companies. It is really a unpleasant for friends an family to see door that was never painted nor hung. Doors not closing as they should. Doors not fitting properly and a shower/tub tile work that is subpar. Not level in many places. There is more but I hope to catch corporate’s attention. If you use your own lender, and not KB's preferred lender, they will not negotiate price of the house nor will they pay any closing costs on behalf of the buyer. We're an active duty military family and it didn't matter because we wouldn't use their lender. Take note that this is how they treat military. So once we told KB Home we would not be using their preferred lender everything went downhill. We weren't treated like serious buyers even though our lender was waiting on KB to provide information to be able to give us the clear to close only one week after going into contract. Our lender had a hard time getting that information. It took them weeks of multiple emails and phone calls to finally get the requested information. And we were told as much that we were treated that way because we used our own lender. Again, buyers take note. Further, the communication between the sales rep, construction manager, and sales office is horrible at best. The project manager didn't even know we were in contract for the house until the week before closing. We were stonewalled at getting our inspector in on time for our projected close date at which KB told us if we waived the inspection they could close on our requested date. Shady but we insisted on our inspection and closing was delayed. Fortunately, we have an amazing lender that was able to extend our locked rate without us having to pay to extend. After closing, things got even worse and it has been a headache working with the construction crew to get blue tape items fixed. We're six weeks into our home and still have blue tape items not addressed along with the other items that the construction crew was supposed to fix but ended up making them worse. And I haven't even touched on the quality and craftsmanship of the house itself. There's so much more that I could write a dissertation on all of the issues, why we wouldn't buy another KB home, and would never recommend them to anyone. ... More

Suzanne, was so kind and helpful. This is why I made the decision to purchase this home. This was my fourth brand new home. The few people I met while building this house were also very helpful like Scott and Mike but anyone in higher offices were very rude and not helpful I would not recommend Kb Homes to anyone, very cheaply, built so disappointed.

16 months to close. They tried to close earlier multiple times but work was not complete. When we finally closed there was still a list of things needing completion.

KB Homes may look nice from the exterior and the salesman may sing a beautiful tune, but this builder is one of the worst and takes every possible shortcut with no thought as to how it might affect the homebuyer. The salesmen work for KB Home and are willing to say anything to get you to sign that contract and put that sold sign in front of the house! We discovered many problems throughout the home including cracked foundation, "upgrades" installed incorrectly to where they don't function properly, light fixtures that do not work or are falling off the wall, among other features. Tile in the home is so uneven and chipped I cannot walk barefoot without physically cutting my feet. KB Home refuses to fix these issues. We were extremely pressured to "hurry up and close" and were promised warranty would take care of these issues after closing on the home; however, after closing on the home, warranty flat out refused to take care of these issues. I closed on my home with blue tape where painters and other contractors were supposed to come fix things. I was told to not worry about this, that again it would be taken care of after I signed closing documents. I signed closing documents, and suddenly both warranty and construction tell me it is not their problem anymore. They are deceptive in their business practices. I highly regret my purchase. ... More

Expect delays, no accountability, and no communication from KB Homes departments. Initially, everything was great, but as we got closer to the closing date that changed for the worst. First, they told us we did not need flood insurance causing additional expenses to us the consumer. One week before the closing date all KB agents helping us went radio silent.The closing date came and we did not get notified in any way that it had been move due to the builder not having our home complete, it was until next week after the original closing date that we received word that it will take two more months to finish. Now it has been close to three months in the home and the warranty department will not respond to any of the emails I have sent them even after receiving a confirmation email from the stating that one of their representatives will contact me in 48 hours. It has been a whole month and no response to my emails. I will never buy again from KB Homes or recommend them to no one ... More

This process of building with KB was a bit of a cluster… there seemed to be lack of communication between Sales, Design and Construction throughout the entire process. I signed my contract in March 2022, and the build didn’t start until July. Michelle M. was my sales counselor, and she was great.. and did her best to keep things moving forward…. The first problems started with the design studio… Lydia was my design consultant, and there seemed to have been a disconnect with what was a design item versus a structural item … She really didn’t have any idea what was going on.. no to mention when you went to the design studio there was many things on the walls for options, but nothing was available making the process very frustrating. I was told I wasn’t able to get a drawer bank in the guest bath.. (but come to find out later I was able to .. and of course there was a charge.) Throughout the build process I found many issues that I brought to Grant M.’s attention and for the most part it was addressed. Grant M. seemed to have been overloaded with the number of houses he was overseeing, and it showed. There was no consistency within the same model houses across multiple builds, and the order of operations seemed to be off. Justin H one of the project managers came in to help with my project, and he is a bit useless.. and pushes back on everything I bring up… and his response is “We are a production Builder and Nothing is Perfect” .. While I agree with that to an extent… if I am paying for upgrades in the house I expect them to be in good condition . I was promised to close on a specific date, and wasn’t even contacted letting me know we were not going to meet that date of March 10, 2023. Then I was promised we would close on March 17, 2023 and that didn’t happen. I finally closed on 3/31/23. There are many outstanding issues… which either KB Home is ignoring or dragging their feet on… my outstanding items include: * Dented roof vent (This was pointed out prior to being installed, but it was still installed. As of right now this still has not been fixed. Justin H tries to change the subject when bringing this up. * Cement pad for AC Condenser was poured and placed in the wrong location… Grant M told me this would be fixed, but it was not, and now I am still waiting for it to be fixed after Justin H said a new pad would be ordered. * The tile in my mater bathroom was crooked, and I was told that it was within tolerance … REALLY?? I got a credit back for the tile, and had to hire someone to re-tile the shower the week after I moved in. * Scratches on my LVP floor.. throughout the house. Justin H will come in the house rub his finger on the scratched area and say “See they went away” but then the scratches come back. This was a $12K upgrade and I shouldn’t have scratches on my floor. * The door on the linen closet in the guest bath doesn’t open all the way and hits the toilet. This still hasn’t been fixed. Justin H needs to coordinate with the plumber and flooring company to get this fixed and he has not.. * Dented window on the front of the house … * Gouges in the trim work throughout the house.. Justin H said this is normal … THIS IS NOT NORMAL….. * Weather stripping missing on my sliding glass door… Bugs are getting in through the crack int he window and I am still waiting for this to be fixed. * Also the trim along their floor of the door is scratched and dinged from when they were grinding the floors how to level them out.. * My shutters on the front window my house were dented… they have been replaced, but still haven’t been painted. * I was promised full home gutters and a fence …. the gutters have finally been installed, but still waiting on the fence and we are 60 days past closing. * Staining on front door… * The grading of the property is also off… the sides of the yard are not draining properly and it is basically a swamp. * The outside of the house is till dirty.. masking tape from paints and handwritten notes are on the windows still.. It is very evident that KB Home hires subcontractors that give the lowest bid. The trades do not seem to take pride in their work, and it shows with the lack of quality. Major problems throughout the house … and still no support after I closed on my home. KB Home says they are built on relationships, but once you sign on the dotted line everyone disappears. Jim M who is the EVP of the region even came out to the house prior to closing and spoke with me.. it seems like he was telling me what I wanted to hear… and told me to reach out to him if I had any problems… I have reached out, and have received no response back. Throughout the process he never addressed my concerns . Always said yes that will be fixed and never followed through. After I closed I came to my home with NO A/C AND THERMOSTAT! . He disappeared and I had no key to my home , there were no knobs on all the doors and he glued a damaged door on my kitchen island and damaged the island!, no weather stripping in the entrance door, SMOKE ALARM WAS TURNED OFF AT THE BREAKER BOX TO PREVENT THE CHERPING IN THE FOYER, missing doors in room # 1 & 2 , No dry wall on the vent box and the vent not working properly, no coach lights, Garage door malfunctioning, Air vent on ceiling not installed properly in bedroom # 2 and switch not working properly, walkway not pressure washed. The mulch in front of house left with construction debris, doorbell not screwed on properly, No garage light on motor , incorrect exterior door style for garage door entry to laundry room, No shutters on front window, Pantry door damaged, crack on frame above fridge cabinet, and drywall repairs throughout the house. KB Homes are a nightmare!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with a homebuilder that I would not recommend. The customer service was appalling, their craftsmanship was subpar, and their overall trustworthiness was severely lacking. To say that the customer service was poor would be an understatement. The communication was abysmal and a complete lack of transparency. I was left frustrated and wondering if my concerns even mattered to them. This level of disregard for their customers is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, the quality and craftsmanship of the house they built were equally disappointing. The attention to detail was non-existent, and it was evident that corners were cut at every possible turn. The finishing work was sloppy, with visible cracks in the drywall, uneven flooring, and poorly installed fixtures. The materials used were of inferior quality. Furthermore, the lack of trustworthiness exhibited by this homebuilder was deeply concerning. At homeowners walk through, the home was not ready and without any valid explanations, leaving me questioning their integrity. Moreover, request for low cost for minor repairs were responded with a rejection based on personal financial ability to self purchase, causing significant financial strain and a breach of trust. It became clear that this company was more interested in maximizing their profits at the expense of their customers' satisfaction and peace of mind. Overall, my experience with this homebuilder was nothing short of a disaster. The poor customer service, coupled with the substandard quality and craftsmanship, made for an incredibly frustrating and disheartening journey. The only positive in this experience was being able to close at a good price relative to the area, but that credit goes to me and my agent. Please don't get fooled by any of these people that work for KB Homes on promises that they don't deliver. Don't sign anything until you make sure it's done because these people only want what is coming to them and that is a bonus check on a great review that we give to them. These people put up a front of being good to you when in reality they are horrible very sad that KB Homes hires unprofessional staff to do such a sloppy job. Everything is an excuse to what they and their contractors do wrong so they don't take responsibility. Lose siding, damage cabinet doors, water coming in from rear door, flood damage from lose pipe, paint smudges everywhere, filthy house interior and exterior, sloppy tile work on flooring patch up on vinyl flooring horrible, terrible patch up and touch up on walls, back porch in terrible condition and the nasty paint job. Overall the one star rating should be ZERO that's how horrible the home and the KB home staff. ... More

The house was delivered to us with many details, broken walls, glass with details in doors and windows, they did not clean the house, it was delivered dirty and with paint on the carpets, the gate was hit and they still did not replace the panel. The peivers were not cured, painting details inside the house still not done. The master closet done very badly. The truth is that we are not happy with the house because it was delivered to us with many things to do and it was delivered out of time. We are not happy.

The quality of workmanship is horrible on these new homes. So many issues with the house. So very disappointed on the buy.
