Overall not so good experience buying home at KB.

Great home but the experience was a nightmare.

Easy to work with and very fast processing for loans

Overall we are happy with our home. Specifically we had a great experience with our sales person James who continues to go above and beyond with communication and service. Our first studio visit was rough. We found out on our second studio visit that the studio rep from the first visit had added extra features we didn’t ask for. Thankfully we caught it before everything progressed to construction. Construction has a few problems. They resolved most of them but a few problems remain. The first problem was they confused the flooring in two of the rooms. Thankfully they fixed that before move in. One problem is they never pressed the yard. They said it rained too much and they couldn’t do it. The backyard is very lumpy. They came back after we moved in and rolled it but it was too late no changes were made. Edgar has been helping us coordinate these efforts but we’ve lived here 6 weeks now and it’s still lumpy and probably not getting better. Every time I speak with Edgar he makes sure to remind me to give him a five star rating, but I don’t think this was five star service. Not bad for a budget mindset.

Sales was the only this we are satisfied because of Adrian . We closed some of the work which was pending promised to be taken care of later like landscaping it’s has negative slopes which happened while installing sprinkler system

It’s not bad not good

If you go with KB home, be really careful with your studio selections. Purchase as much of that as you can outside of the studio. And check on your home weekly as it’s being built.

We had an outstanding experience with all KB staff, however the quality of craftsmanship and care of construction was very poor in our first home build experience. We had trash left in our walls and behind HVAC units, carpet laid over debris, flooring laid incorrectly, missing electrical components, missing plumbing components, and more which has led to an unpleasant month of constant repairs and fixes after moving in. The KB team has been scrambling to make sure everything is fixed to our satisfaction but please make sure you are keeping an eye out on details that construction crews (a lot inexperienced) are doing incorrectly....also don’t rely on the “inspections” made by the construction manager... we have had a lot of issues that should have been taken care of during points of inspection and weren’t. As the saying goes, you get what you paid for. There are a lot of issues with the home and their employees seem to be let go pretty often. This has been frustrating as I was promised something only to find out someone was let go and I have to start the process all over again. Their worksmanship is horrible.

I will commend KB Home for the speed at which the home was built. Sales person was very helpful and reachable. Few things to note. Insulation is very thin and the studio didn’t let us know how the insulation will be. I can literally whisper between walls. A lot of things in the house are upgrades and don’t come as standard. You have to spend a lot of money to build the house to your taste. It’s advisable to get an extra layer of carpet as you will feel the nails when climbing the stairs. In all, it’s a decent home.

Happy to be in my first home. Overall very happy with my purchasing and design studio experience, but definitely see many issues with the workmanship of the home—painting, tile work, etc. very sloppily thrown together. Sales and design team are great!

Design center experience was very good, but the building process was the opposite. We had 4 different project managers due to them moving to different communities, and at one time our house didn't have anyone work on it for 6 weeks. At a few different times, the PM actually lied to us (which was confirmed). It's been 5 weeks since we closed, and there are a ton of punch list/warranty items that are now being worked on, but it's progress. The house is becoming what we hoped for, but getting here was tough.

Poor workmanship (paints, door and door locks)

The quality of the finishings in the house is quite poor! The interior walls are of very poor quality, and the backsplash finishes are of very low quality!

They may have to make sure before picking upgrades to home. Most upgrades can be done after purchase instead of from builder.

Kb home no respond for repairing warranty I have kitchen tile issue and walls pints no response about that

Too many issues that still need to be fixed after receiving home

Workmanship is not good at all. There are many poor quality works that we have found at many places of the home. Even when we asked them to be fixed the persons who came to fix did the same kind of poor quality repairs making no difference. At the time of closing we noted some issues that needed to be addressed. But due to closing timeline, we were told to go ahead get them fixed by warranty. There are two bigger items that are not addressed till date, that we definitely want them to be addressed. Chipped portion of counter top in kitchen that was just glued in, Drive way replacement as it has cracks. In fact prior this year, I dropped from other home in East village - Classic collection for the drive way crack issue and they said they will not fix it. But after we dropped from that home, we saw the driveway was getting replaced. If we were told that will be fixed we would have very weel bought that home instead earlier this year. But now the same drive way crack happened here. Earlier when we signed the offer, there was no crack. But towards the closing it started showing and before closing we said this is not something that we are comfortable with. But we were told it is very minor and due to lack of time for closing date, it is better to close first and get them addressed by warranty later. Now we see that it evolved bigger and warranty team is saying it is in tolerable limits for them. But that is not aceptable answer for us as we had dropped from earlier hiome also for the same reason. ... More

We have experienced more issues in this brand-new home than we did with our previous builder, Meritage. This speaks to a potential lapse in quality control and attention to detail during the construction process, which is concerning when investing in a new property. On a more positive note, we do appreciate the layout and design of our KB home. It's clear that thought went into creating a functional and appealing living space, and this aspect of the home has been a redeeming factor in an otherwise lackluster experience. In conclusion, our experience with KB Homes has been characterized by a lack of transparency, disappointing craftsmanship, and ongoing issues. While the layout and design of our home are pleasing, these positives are overshadowed by the negatives we have encountered throughout our journey with KB Homes. I've had a great experience with the salesperson - Joel and the loan originator - Michelle. They were easy to talk to and work with. However, I only got to know the construction superintendent a couple of days before my closing while I should have been in contact with him throughout the building process. After closing, I came to my house and noticed numerous issues such as dirty windows and bath tabs, and paint on the floor. I reported that but no one cared. My windows and bathtubs are still not clean. There was mold in my kitchen, I reported that but it's been a month and a half since they removed my cabinets, and haven't installed them back yet saying that we are waiting for the cabinets to arrive. ... This was a struggle from beginning to the end! Terrible workmanship and finishing on the home. The caulking and paint job was so horrible, I’m having to call warranty office every week. I’ve already found a water leak in my kitchen within a month of moving in. My walls were cracking even before I moved in. The warranty rep for this communique has been great in responding to issues and making sure it is resolved as soon as possible but if I knew what I know now, I never would have purchased a home with KB. The construction team don’t care and they will lie their way through any questions. They are careless, and won’t own up or fix construction mistakes when you point it out. Never again! I like my new house, but I cannot deny that it has a lot of paint and finish details, it has a problem in the bathroom plumbing which flows into the garage, they broke the wall and left it that way and they still haven't repaired it, I don't I can't and I don't have time to be calling and writing to the repair technician, the yard is old and damaged and still hasn't settled, compared to other new houses that have not yet been delivered, they glued the bathroom floor cover badly and it's peeling off , I need pest control, and many details that I still have no answer
