I purchased my new home from KB homes. I was in a tight spot and needed a home rather quickly. This one was available so I bought it. The craftsmanship and materials used were not worth the price paid for the home. Honestly, I would never buy or recommend a KB built home again. Corners were cut, the quality of work was sacrificed, and the materials used were prioritized in order to maximize profits. I understand this and can’t blame them. No one forced me to buy this home. This isn’t a forever home. I needed a home and this was available. I only plan to stay here for 3 years while I save to ...

The main reasons for the scores mentioned above was due to the quality of the work that went into building the house.

Less than Stellar with KB Homes

You will have to watch everything the construction crews does on the house - be an active home buyer and hold all the parties accountable. Do not sign the ready to close document until all is fixed they way you like it. If you actively involved all the little or big things can get fixed along the way. Don't let the construction crew bully you. It was less than stellar for my family and quite stressful.

We signed our contract in January and we closed on our house November 5th. Communication was a nightmare! I had to reach out to them to ask what the status was each week. Unfortunately, we were lied to about a lot of things including the corporate office/permit department dropping the ball on ordering our permit. Thankful for Russell, who got involved with us and helped smooth the process but I can’t say the same for the so strict job person Trevor who was responsible for communicating with us from the meadows. He had absolutely zero customer service skills. The biggest disappointment was the ...

KB Home - Sales was rude, unresponsive and apathetic.

Sales was rude, unresponsive and apathetic. The construction crew was not much better. There were several items that were not broken or not properly installed that they tried to hide as if I would not notice. The only positive was the finance team.

We’ve already had several work teams come out within just a month of closing and still need so much more. Plus when they did come out, they used the wrong color grout. Have had a replacement window for over a month and no one to replace it and our attic door doesn’t even shut. Would not buy from KB again.

KB Home - There were all sorts of mistakes throughout the construction

  • Christopher W.

There were all sorts of mistakes throughout the construction process, a few of which were major. It was difficult to get many of these addressed at all, let alone in a timely fashion. By the time we finally closed (after the closing date had been moved back many times), most of the problems had been addressed in a fairly satisfactory manner, but some problems remain today, since we were just not able to wait any longer before closing, and fixing some of these issues would require major demolition and reconstruction (e.g. entryway walls and corners being very far out of square). Overall, we ...

KB Home - I understand our initial consultation guy got laid off, so none

I understand our initial consultation guy got laid off, so none of our initial issues are fixed. We are now in warranty and have had a major plumbing leak that we've already cut thru walls and have fans in our house for a week, not happy. I still have paint touch ups (inside&outside) nails sticking out, repaint in certain areas, recaulking around windows (sloppy job). Everyone at KB is nice, but getting no immediate help on getting my house 100% after sale.

From sales to design studio, construction everything is not up to the mark for the money which you are paying. Think twice before going with KB, be careful at every step with sales & construction people.

From the sticker in our attic window, our warped stairs, cracked cabinets and leaking backdoor. We feel overwhelmed with the large and small issues. I'm disappointed with the quality in the carpet and bath/shower combo. Our grass in the back yard is muddy an uneven. The quality of our home did not meet the value of what I paid for the home. Carpet with no padding is coming up on the stairs, our cabinets still have a spit, what we were showed in demo to our $3000+ tub shower combo was extremely misrepresented. The communication between our builder to us and the rest of Kb was terrible. Deb ...

Overall buying a KB Home house has been good, selecting the plot and model was easy. Then came the selections at the home studio, it was ok, there were some selections that they offered and some they did not offer but then when the building process began those items that were offered were taken away with the explanation of "Oh we don't offer that at that location/anymore ect." The items that the home studio said were not available I have seen on several of the other homes, it seems like no one know what was supposed to be offered. Then there were changes made some were beneficial others ...

Where to start... contractor team doesn’t listen to concerns, cheap material used, landscaping is terrible. Started out great then the lack of communication got worse rushed everything after my concerns started to show. Have a ton of items still to get fixed under warranty.

This is our 2nd KB Home - there are pros and cons to everything Pros - more square footage for the price and great location - no doubt about it However more cons than pros.... Cons - Craftsmanship is not great quality as it used to be - rushed, quick builds are more about QUANTITY AND NOT QUALITY Customer service is not that great - needs much improvement Hire cheap labor workers - get what you pay for, sad but true. We hesitated to give any reviews and give them a chance to help fix and make things right but when you keep getting these requests to submit surveys, on the daily and ...

We still have so much work left to do, we have a whole framing work in the front, a shower door that still needs to be replaced, cabinet replacement, floorboard work upstairs, floor work downstairs, and plugs not working in multiple places. These are big projects to fix after we moved in, especially since they were supposed to get fixed before when we had an inspection done. I first praised George for helping to give us a garage for the opener and helping with the move-in date. But I can't overlook to constant issues and I have been disappointed. I have always heard things about KB Home or ...
