Visit the home site on a regular bases, the builder will try to get away with the craftsmanship. At the end the cosmetics will hide major problems. Point out every single issue as you see it and take pictures. And don't sign for the house unless you are completely satisfied with everything you chose to be installed.

So much rework needs to be done the house feel like a rebuild or flip rather than new.

Quadruple check your brick when it gets delivered, colors do not match studio. Double check all electrical. We had a plug that wasn’t even wired. Double check with your local paint store for the paint first. Our whole house is painted with paint they do not produce anymore. Therefore to fix a scratch. I have to paint the whole wall. Color can be matched. But paints are vastly different. Takes longer than they say it’ll take. Just add a few months. If they say June. Expect august/September. We were pushed back 3 months from our original date.

After the purchase of my home was completed, the issues that were remaining to be resolved have still not been resolved fully and it’s been 3 1/2 months. I can’t get anybody to respond to my messages even though they told me they will stay connected with me for six months and that they won’t forget me just because the purchase is completed. I have learned that that is not true

KB has really nice designs and locations to pick ,however lack of workmanship and people with good customer service skills are needed to be improved by KB home

Our first home-buying experience was ok in the end, but not this 2nd time. We had a flooring issue the first time that was resolved before we closed. Through that experience we feel that the rating system is off in our opinion. We gave a 9/10 due to the problems with the floor, but had the construction manager at our door pleading it be changed to a 10. We thought 9/10 was pretty darn good considering the flooring headache. Otherwise, that first experience was ok. Now we move on to this next experience. It has become a nightmare. The home is way way way more expensive than our first KB home, but the quality of workmanship is worse(the materials seem ok though). The workers seem to not be skilled in their respective roles (painter, carpet installer, etc. All except the worker that installed our backsplash, who gets an A+!). The construction manager is a nice fella & seems to try hard, but has way too much to do and continues to make promise after promise. The home closed with several problems being promised to be resolved later. We either get put off and put off, or the fixes are horribly done or cause worse problems. Most of our neighbors have experienced similar experiences, and some are waiting even after nearly a year. We are all disappointed and worn out. But, given the rating system issue, we are not really allowed to rate anything less than a 10 for fear folks may lose their jobs. The pressure to rate a 10 is through the roof! Though the build manager promises to fix things, many fixes are worse than the original problem. We are exhausted and worn from cleaning paint off floors, trying to schedule repair folks to come fix problems several times over, managing the manager, etc. etc. etc. I knew it was KB when I began, but was hoping it would at least be as good of an experience as our first KB home despite the problems then. It is way way worse in this community. Sales guy is AWESOME, but the rest of our experience has been beyond exhausting. Beware this Community...the neighbors are nice, but the build process and horrible workmanship and need to have things fixed over & over & over is a nightmare. :( Overall, KB seems just as fine as other builders in it's price-range/caliber. But this community...ay caramba. And with the rating pressure for a 10/10, what recourse do we have? Their painters all need to go. None of them apparently will use painter's tape, and no straight lines are painted. Horrible paint job that we have to settle for. We have lived in the house close to 2 months. Now they say there needs to be an appraisal where they come in a take pictures of the inside of my home. I am completely uncomfortable with this.

I asked multitude of times throught the building process for a few key items to be fixed and promissed repeatedly that things would eventually be taken care of. NOTHING was corrected even after close.

House is nice and construction seems good in general, but 1 month after I purchased it, the Zillow estimate for my home dropped over 10% !!! The estimate first agreed with the purchase price and the appraisal also agreed. How could it devalue 10% in 1 month unless it wasn't worth the purchase price to start with. Buyers Beware of the valuation at the start or you will feel scammed too, like I do. KB Homes installs vents for circulation from each bedroom to a adjacent common area in the house. These vents in each of 3 bedrooms are directly opposite each other, creating an open window effect. I inquired with the construction supervisor and informed him that I did not want a window that you could look through (and even see my bed in the master bedroom from the living room!!!) He had the audacity to argue that "that's how KB does it in all their homes now for ventilation." We went back and forth with the argument as I explained that you can hear through the vent and SEE DIRECTLY THRU IT. I finally asked him if he would find that acceptable in His Home? He said he didn't like it either, but that's the way they do it, I then proceeded to request that these vents be relocated to more sensible locations to remove the "windows" and restore privacy to the bedrooms. Lo and behold he sent a sub-contractor over to relocate the master bedroom/living room vents to the ceiling and patched up 5 of of the vents. When the apparently NEW worker for the AC company came to do the job, unsupervised in any way, as usual by KB people, he went up in the attic and cut a hole in the ceiling from above (NO TARP OR ANYTHING ELSE) and dropped a lot of debris right onto the brand new flooring in the foyer, and nowhere near the master bedroom. I hollered from below and asked him if he needed a drop cloth or something, and I suggested he use my tarp. Not sure why I even attempted to help him at this point, but he said yes, I grabbed a tarp and asked where he wanted it. He said to put in the Master BR, and I did so. Then he proceeded to cut a hole in the front room (not the master) and drop a lot of debris into the room below and all over the carpet! When I asked why he just did that, he yelled , " I told you to put the tarp in the master BR!" I yelled back , the tarp IS IN THE MASTER BEDROOM!" He then argued, still yelling at me from the attic that he DID just cut a hole in the master BR! Since he did not even know where the master bedroom was, I told him just STOP working immediately and allow me to call the building supervisor. The supervisor called the AC guy's boss and he eventually came over to finish the vents 2 hours later, and explained it was a new worker, etc. This was only 1 problem I had and continue to have with the follow up. I look forward to adding more details to this review when given another opportunity. KB has wasted so much of my time already, I really just need a break. They set 4 hour windows for us to wait for these repairs, and often miss the time and call to extend the wait. The truly act as though we have all the time in the world to waste and repeat this with each sub-contractor that they send over, most every one of which has acted unprofessional in one way or another. When I have complained to the building SV, he has repeatedly throw the vendor under the bus, stating that he is "about to fire that vendor anyway". I finally am left with the understanding that KB is working with cheap, and inadequately skilled laborers. KB presented themselves as a full-service company but simply pass the buck and blame their vendors for everything that is going wrong. There are a lot of companies currently building in this area... The sales office was great, the design studio was great, the construction manager was great at first but then. I don't even want to get into how terrible my process was and the lack of attention to detail and lack respect as a customer paying nearly 300K for a house and someone blowing off my concerns and acting so nonchalant about things towards the end. If it wasn't for all I put into the house I would have walked away form it all! 3 days after I closed the construction workers ran over my lawn and it took more than a week for me to hear back from the construction manager when I reached out to him about it. Issues still pending that were identified on the final walk. Contractors care very little for the material that is new, they drag cabinets, scratch countertops, force dry wall when curries not fit installed crack bath tub, chalking bad work, home dirty, no pressure wash of garage and sidewalk and driveway. My opinion house over priced for the workmanship. No pride in the work they do. Just waiting to see who calls to text and make right. Good Luck right?

Poor superintendent. Lied numerous times about things that would be fixed only to see they never were. I felt like I was being yes’d the whole time so I would stop asking question. Cole is a huge violator of this as well

Make sure the home is 100% complete before you move in because it can take weeks before they address the issues that the house may have. Some of the closets did not have rods to hang our clothes and the first day we moved in the central had a leak and was not cooling the house and etc.

Sales Team is amazing...the Mortgage Team is amazing.

The Tx loan compared to NY was very frustrating and it took over 5 or more months before they denied me a loan and I had to start all over with a different company kept me anxiety extremely high for the whole tome

What an horrible experience for a first time home owner. They were very rude and unprofessional with me just because I got my own lender. The construction superintendent did treat me good and did try making me feel comfortable as much as he can.

I will start with our original sales consultant. She was terrible and promised so many things for veterans. And at the last minute she backed ( M. Maher) out and gave it to another consultant. I was impressed with KB product but not the representation from the get go. KB really needs to get more in tuned with how sales reps are most likely causing potential customers to walk away. The price of home, location, and the overall efficiency and build is what sold us on their product. Our realtor squaredany things away with M Jordan who was professional in his demeanor and made things smooth. I really do hope that KB Home really looks at how a product that is being offered is represented correctly and promised. ... More

Ok experience, would like more help and transparency in the process and what happens after closing.

For two years I worked hard to move out of the apartment I was living in with the intent to purchase a home here in Texas. I was excited and couldn’t wait for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow which was my new home. I had issues with loan officers, I was TOLD the date I was expected to close with no consideration of my time and work schedule, made promises that were not kept and overall disappointment with the whole experience.

My family bought our house sight unseen as we were moving to San Antonio and wanted a house upon arrival. We knew we wanted to go with KB but didn't have time to build custom so had to wait for one to become available. It was a race to lock one down and we finally got one. The location isn't great and the house is actually better than it looked in videos. However, there were a lot of issues found during our inspection we ordered and there were some that they didn't remediate until I sent the inspector back again. Upon arriving to the home, I found more issues with poor attention to detail and damages in the home. I have just moved in so I'm planning to contact them to fix damages. Also during the buying experience I was extremely pressure to close very fast and this was my first time buying a home so it was very unpleasant. All the stress and pressure just for them to push the closing date back a month. Overall I'm happy with the home but I cannot speak on durability as I just moved in. The home buying process was seamless, Jerry and Rueben are awesome. My customer service rep is very responsive in getting things done. Check every little nook and cranny of your home and do site visits if possible. My home was not cleaned before moving in so I had paint speckles all throughout the home, handprints were everywhere in the flooring which took some scrubbing because it didn't come up with just a mop. DO NOT sign off that your home is 100% until everything is to your standard or liking. Depending on where you move the ball may get dropped on somethings. My sprinkler system doesn't cover my entire yard so I have dead patches that we have to hand water. For the most part I have a good Rep that does get things done after move in, so Im ok with my home. ... More

Since the start, purchasing my home from KB, was not a good experience. The day of closing turned out to be a week of closing. Now that I’ve moved into the house, doors were not hung properly, the carpet was not tacked down correctly, it lifts from most of the corners in big sections. The living/ dining rooms tiles were not installed correctly. The tiles were uneven. I’ve been sitting in a construction site for a week and it looks like it’ll be longer. I feel like I’ve made a mistake buying this house. I’m so frustrated.

Unfortunately we have had quite a few issues with our home, leaking master bath, cracked concrete on driveway, paint on door fixtures, plaster on patio and drive way out front. KB has been available and working on all of our items, they immediately got in touch with the plumbers to fix the shower which was appreciated.

The overall experience is something I would never want to experience again. This was supposed to be our dream house but we had to choose different products that were not as nice as what we originally chose. Plus we were lied to about when our house would be complete. We had to live in a two bedroom apartment for a whole year.

Quality is not good, the floor makes noise and vehicle outside makes the building vibrates
