I paid cash for my home. I let myself be rushed instead of making sure the issues with my home were taken care prior to closing. I have paint splatters on the lvp flooring; on the concrete outside my home; paint on the carpeting; hot water heater didn’t work, and though I let the super know it took a bit for it to be repaired by the plumbing company; the cabinet in the master bathroom was not repaired; the cabinet molding was not replaced; all the bathtubs are scratched; the cultured marble in the secondary bathroom is chipped; the kitchen sink is scratched like it was used by the builder and someone tried to clean but used an abrasive which scratched the stainless steel. So yes, I’m not a happy customer. Oh, and the Sheetrock in the garage has screw holes all over. Probably a screw up from another house. The list goes on… ... More

At first things were good until our lot was sold from up under us twice. No notification or idea it had happened until when it was time to get a date for the studio. Then once that was sorted, studio selections were double selected by a neighboring house which caused some reselections without compensation. Once that was figured out, when it came time to close on the house multiple credit checks within a month mixed up identity from loan officer and closing agent and once we got to the final hour KB denied me a loan. It was all too peculiar, like KB didn't want to sell the house to us. But I found a lender outside of KB who was willing to loan us the money and we closed within 2.5 weeks. Something KB couldn't not get done. Now that I'm in the house a few things need to be corrected it's taking time but things are coming together. Very tumultuous and frustrating dealing with KB staff. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! If you’re looking to get a KB home make sure to come in with your own financing company. The finance department is horrible aside from Lionel in finance who heard our cries and disappointment through the process. Building too soooo king it was months where houses that weren’t sold before ours had already been worked on. We are two months in and still need repairs fixed. If you can elsewhere do so it’s not worth it

The salesman Rey S. made promises that he could not keep. He was at the Title company the day of closing he saw us and never spoke to us. Shows he really cared about us. $$$$$ (NOT)construction date was pushed back Repeatedly( six months)closing was a nightmare (it took 7 hours). I have been in my home 78 days and still have not got a thank you card or anything from sale’s or Kb thanking us for purchasing a home. There are to many people involved in the transactions. If I had not put time, money and effort into this house, I would have walked away. Advice to consumers, do your homework. As all home builders and sales people they are out for the money, they will say what you want to hear to close the deal. ... More

To many issues w house that you wouldn’t think you’d have. After all it is a new home. Paint job is terrible! We got an “upgraded door,” all they did was pain it black!!!

I’m dissatisfied with the quality of cheap materials that KB Homes put into the building of the homes. Although they build the homes in great locations. Still the quality needs better performance, design and selection.

Many things did not go as planned with building our home. When a change needed to happen or something was prolonged it took for me the buyer to ask questions and find answer and no one ever knew what was what.

Worst experience buying this home from the beginning and still till this day many problems with the home. Per some of the contractors it was said that the Project manager had said to (f) that house. I regret buying this home. I live behind a busy road and I could hear every car passing by all the way to my bedroom and can hear everything outside. I feel like I’m at outhouse bathroom with vent making noise like dripping water and could hear everyone talking outside. Very uncomfortable and poor value of the walls. This has caused stress and sleepless nights.

The buying experience has been terrible. The loan office staff was fantastic. However, I would not consider anything else good. The workmanship was terrible and the materials are beyond cheap. Repairs take forever to get done, if they get done at all, and are often done incorrectly again. Responses from the pm were slow or didn’t occur unless we called people higher up or from other departments. They literally stuffed paper towels into the crevices between the mortar and siding and then put the sealant over it in hopes we wouldn’t notice, which we have pictures of. That is a huge fire hazard and most definitely not up to code. There were multiple other issues and we will absolutely never buy from them again or recommend them to anyone else. ... More

I would never recommend KB to anyone not after the experience I’ve had if things would be done right the first time by KB home builders you wouldn’t have these issues you’re lying to your clients you’re lying to your buyers. You’re doing things that are not correct you’re cutting corners just to save money in the long run. It’s gonna end up costing you more. You are unfair and unethical. Shame on you.

Would never buy from KB again. Poor quality and workmanship. Their subs drink on the job. They cant seem to get it right the first, second, or third time. Service after wards has not been any better. Had an oven door damaged at installation. It’s been 3-4 months and it’s still damaged. Floor already started buckling. They started the repair and have not come to finish.

Worst experience, would never buy again from here. Stay away if you can.

It has been a horrible experience to enter the house of your dreams and that it has too many inconveniences and that when trying to fix one thing they break down another, we are still waiting for repairs in our house and it's sad that they don't want to help us

From the start to the end was awful. I regret signing off at the walk through as I was promised areas of the home would be corrected and still have not 2 months later. I have called and text several people with no response.

This as been a terrible purchase. My son use to work for KB home and tons of things are happen that he said are not the same when he was there and he is the reason I purchased this house. The Finance company tried to rip me off with the rate, construction was unresponsive and didn't get work done in time for closing. As a matter of fact there is still work outstanding and my son had to coordinate most of things himself because he was tried of waiting on construction. No one at KB Home order the Certificate of Occupancy, so my son ordered it himself from the city of Cibolo. No one from KB communicates and apologizes for closing a week late and work unfinished. ... With this being our 2nd purchase with KB and communicating the concerns and issues we encountered with our first purchase, we assumed this experience would be different. First, we had issues with the lot on which we put our good-faith deposit. We were told the lot reserved for us could not have the plan we selected built on it due to city regulations. We were then given the option to have a different corner lot, and the build would be faster (February) because the city permits were already complete. This meant we had to accept options we did not want but agreed to because a faster build date is what we needed. Foundation was poured without our knowledge, and regarding the weekly touch bases with our project manager, that never happened. We had to reach out to get updates on the build's status. We had an independent inspector check the house as it was being built to ensure it was done to standard (several items were noted on the report(s) and went not being addressed/fixed). Fast forward, we were set to close and confirmed the appointment the day before. We show up and were told we have not signed off on the "completed home" and that the home closing would not happen. We sat there for over an hour, waiting for someone to tell us what was happening and what would happen. We have been in our home for a little over a month and are still waiting for repairs/corrections to be completed. The lack of communication is still an issue. I did not have a great experience with KB. I had several problems that barely got resolved. The positive I got a nice house.

This had to be one of the most stressful purchase and move we had ever experienced. I’ll start at the beginning with the loan officer, our loan officer matt gave us some expectation he was not able to keep. He was very unreliable, he would say I’ll call you and he would never do. During the whole process we were left in the dark, he was more worried about his personal business he had on the side than his actual job. We had no idea where our loan was in the process and on top of that we stressed to him the importance of setting our closing date because we were moving from Delaware to Texas and we had to move our closing date two times because he dropped the ball on turning in our documentation into the processing department even though we kept calling him to see if our paperwork had already been sent to the processing department to get our loan in the process. We were told that to compensate for the loan officers negligence we would be getting a garage door opener and that has yet to be installed in our home. The fun does not end here, my family and I get to Texas and not only was our house not ready the quality of craftsmanship has left me dumbfounded. There are so many discrepancies in the home and even though I have reached out to the project manager at least once a week I feel like we are left on the back burner since already moved in, not to mention we have been living here for over a month and have yet to be able to set up trash service or water under my name because the certificate of occupancy has not been released. This experience has really taken me by surprise because my wife and I had a purchased KB home in the past and the quality of craftsmanship was high and the experience was smooth but now it feels like a lot of corners were cut. ... If you use your own lender, and not KB's preferred lender, they will not negotiate price of the house nor will they pay any closing costs on behalf of the buyer. We're an active duty military family and it didn't matter because we wouldn't use their lender. Take note that this is how they treat military. So once we told KB Home we would not be using their preferred lender everything went downhill. We weren't treated like serious buyers even though our lender was waiting on KB to provide information to be able to give us the clear to close only one week after going into contract. Our lender had a hard time getting that information. It took them weeks of multiple emails and phone calls to finally get the requested information. And we were told as much that we were treated that way because we used our own lender. Again, buyers take note. Further, the communication between the sales rep, construction manager, and sales office is horrible at best. The project manager didn't even know we were in contract for the house until the week before closing. We were stonewalled at getting our inspector in on time for our projected close date at which KB told us if we waived the inspection they could close on our requested date. Shady but we insisted on our inspection and closing was delayed. Fortunately, we have an amazing lender that was able to extend our locked rate without us having to pay to extend. After closing, things got even worse and it has been a headache working with the construction crew to get blue tape items fixed. We're six weeks into our home and still have blue tape items not addressed along with the other items that the construction crew was supposed to fix but ended up making them worse. And I haven't even touched on the quality and craftsmanship of the house itself. There's so much more that I could write a dissertation on all of the issues, why we wouldn't buy another KB home, and would never recommend them to anyone. ... More

Please don't get fooled by any of these people that work for KB Homes on promises that they don't deliver. Don't sign anything until you make sure it's done because these people only want what is coming to them and that is a bonus check on a great review that we give to them. These people put up a front of being good to you when in reality they are horrible very sad that KB Homes hires unprofessional staff to do such a sloppy job. Everything is an excuse to what they and their contractors do wrong so they don't take responsibility. Lose siding, damage cabinet doors, water coming in from rear door, flood damage from lose pipe, paint smudges everywhere, filthy house interior and exterior, sloppy tile work on flooring patch up on vinyl flooring horrible, terrible patch up and touch up on walls, back porch in terrible condition and the nasty paint job. Overall the one star rating should be ZERO that's how horrible the home and the KB home staff. ... More

The quality of workmanship is horrible on these new homes. So many issues with the house. So very disappointed on the buy.

Since the very beginning at every stage of the process, I’ve communicated any errors or complaints immediately. After any complaints and talking to different associates in different departments, there was always a sense that things would be addressed, however that was never the case. Either things get passed down to different departments or people in charge, but things were never done. The overall construction of the home was very sloppy, tons of mistakes in just about every step. Lots of very obvious mistakes that were just looked past. When finalizing the home purchase, many things were still pending and we had many complaints from the construction of the home itself, delays and even the whole loan process with KB. I spoke with the customer director Don and we advised of all the issues within the home and with the customer experience. We left with a positive hopeful conversation that things would be corrected and rectified, because he was very understanding that our complaints were validated. However, at this point it has been about 5 months since then and only one of the smaller issues has been addressed. Nothing has been rectified. At this point I am very disappointed and would think that a company such as KB would do so much more for their customers and would not want to leave this type of experience for their customers. It seems as though there is no responsibility within the company to make sure things are being done. Someone needs to hold each department accountable to make sure things that are promised to be done actually get done and the customer is not left hanging for over a year. The sales man was horrible, the title company and closing was horrible. The window washers came and told me they didn't finish and said they'd be back, they haven't come back. I've requested about 3 times now when they're coming back, still not back. After 3 week review I was told the painters would be back, they're still not back also.

It has been more than two months since closing, and instead of doing the things we would like to in and on our home, we spend our weekends taking care of workmanship issues. In the last two weekends, we removed and repaired drawer glides in the last cabinet installed in our master bath, and yesterday fought off an ant invasion because there are gaps 1" wide between the siding and the foundation. There's no telling what we're going to find next, so we have set our expectations to zero. We're also redoubling our efforts to find what workmanship issues remain, but it will probably take an entire year to find them all. We have collected a lot of notes, e-mails, and photos, and once we do find all we can in this first year, we intend to write a report we to send to every name we can find at KB Homes about our own unique home-buying experience. ...
