Lennar - I wish the sales associate would have spent more time going over

I wish the sales associate would have spent more time going over all options. There are things that looking back I would have done a few more options. Also the quality of workmanship on the house is subpar at best. I worked in the construction field for close to 20 years and would never have left a finished project look the way it did. You may want to take a look at the subcontractors you use and their quality control. If I could redo this whole buying process I probably wouldn't have used Lennar. The only good thing I have experienced is helpfulness of your customer care representative for ...

The quality of materials is compromised. Water heater consumes more energy. Electrician said to me, he wonders why they used this water heater.

Builder charge you more than others for the same kind of house in the neighborhood. Amenities like gym, swimming pool etc are missing. You have to tak permission even to plant trees/flowers. Water sprinkler missing. Blinds missing. Kitchen drawer bar missing. Patio mosquito net missing. Washer and dryer missing.

Lennar not very responsive to issues post purchase

We had 2 major issues, water heater not working with outside temperature about 60 degrees, AC not working with outside temperature 95 degrees. We had to take cold showers for 4 days. We had to live in 90+ temperatures without AC. We had to escalate to get anything done. Both of the above are emergencies but not for Lennar

They make it seem like it will be awesome and “everything is included” but as soon as you sign the contract they become less and less responsive. We’ve had numerous issues that need to be addressed. Have 3 open service requests right now. Upon closer review after move-in we’ve noticed some corners have been cut and cheaper materials used. No closing/welcome home gifts like we’ve gotten from previous realtors. Lennar mortgage sold our loan right away but all the paperwork wasn’t turned into the new mortgage company in time so we still don’t have an account number to pay our first mortgage ...

Construction mgr Dave

Up to moving in was fine! I’m really not impressed with the construction manager Dave. He arrogant and condescending. When I did my pre move in I came with my kids because they were excited. He looked disappointed and told them to go upstairs while we did it without asking me. That was very rude. I called him because my water dispenser in my fridge is spraying everywhere and I said I’m not sure I can fix it, he stated if I can’t you can’t. That was strike 2. Then he parked in the middle of the road in front of my driveway of the home I just purchased to talk to a worker knowing I was waiting ...

Hire an independent inspector prior to closing to avoid the long delays on items discovered after closing. Note that you sign away some warranty coverage required by state to you disadvantage and to Lennar's advantage.

I thought it was the right think to do to move into a new Lennar home. I bought a model that had been finished. I do appreciate the finishes in this price range and the layout and design. I had the home inspected. They resolved a couple items found on inspection including an outlet that should have been GCFI, but was not. However, since taking ownership, I have been finding defects in the home. Fiber Internet built into the home that didn't work. Crusty carpet where something had been spilled and a dent in the bathroom vinyl planking I discovered before moving in. A bathroom sink ...

Very unpleased with how things turned out for what we paid. After close it became evident the craftsmanship in the molding in the “Designer Plus” package, the drywall work, and painting was not what I expected for the price we paid for the home. It’s evident Lennar is focused on turning and closing homes quickly and letting many of the details go by the wayside. If I could do it over again- I would pay more money for a smaller builder who cares about more than a buck.

I went through a realtor which was a BIG mistake. Because of doing this I did not get to pick any countertops ,fixtures and flooring. I also did not find out anything about the neighborhood like are there going to be ant parks for children, dogs and for everyone to sit in and meet other people in the neighborhood. Also I would have found out that gutters are not put on in the back of your townhome and neither is a patio and to put one in can be quite an issue with the association here.

Seller doesn’t care about you the second paperwork is signed. Lender is not very clear about the closing process. Triple and quadruple check the loan paperwork because there potentially are many mistakes in it that you will make decisions based upon then they change it and blame you for not noticing. They love to mention the purchase agreement you signed so make sure that is perfect before you sign. Over priced for the quality of the craftsmanship. Sod is put in haphazardly with many gaps. House was not very clean when turned over to me. Warranty is nice but it’s a negotiation when you make a ...

Though the overall buying experience was ok, there are poor quality workmanship including a big chip of wood lost in the main door near the lock. Shocked how a big builder like Lennar could miss such basic quality checks.

Here are the list of issues we noticed within a month. 1. Sump pump outlet is not clued and after first rain, water leaked in basement. 2. Patio door and net are not installed properly. Even after fixing it, it is not smooth to open and close. 3. There is no power outlet is island. 4. 4 door having opening and closing issues. It is hard and giving sound when opening and closing. I expected the overall buying process to be easier when using all Lennar companies (builder, lender, insurer, etc), but that was not the case. Home build quality is good but not great - needed tradesmen out to the house twice to correct issues within the first month.

Water leak ruined our kitchen day 2

Our buying experience was pretty good. Timelines were met and the team kept us informed. We did not get to customize anything outside of their choices which was frustrating. Once we got into the house we had a water leak which flooded the kitchen the first time we used the dishwasher. We noticed several other issues which makes us seriously question the quality control. Instead of staining the wood trim ends we’ve found black sharpie markers covering a missed end. I can’t even fix it now! Electrical problems have also popped up and our breakers continue to pop when we just use a vacuum. ...

Miller Brothers and BNR both do half-crocked work. Miller Brothers break fiber optic cables and home owners are left to get the problem fixed. . They don’t care what they break and Lennar doesn’t help with getting the cable repaired. BNR puts sprinkler heads in our yard that belong to our neighbors and also puts the heads right on the property line. Told the construction manager we were putting up a fence on the property line so they knew not to put the sprinkler heads on the property line, but did it anyway. Construction managers are unresponsive to community members complaints. ...
