I am very unhappy with my buying experience with Lennar. The mortgage team had trouble compiling documents, requested the same documents multiple times, had to close twice as they provided incorrect forms, etc.

Lennar delayed the closing date due to shortage of materials,, however when we asked for an extension because of uncontrolled delay by the mortgage lender, Lennar sent me cancellation notice twice. They tried feverishly to take my home from me.

Lennar charged me an excessive daily fee for delayed closing beyond my control. The sales rep was callous and insensitive,. She tried very hard to take my home from me in order for Lennar a multi billion dollar company to benefit from the drastic increase in housing prices in the 8 months since I signed the contract which was before building began. I felt terrorized and victimized.. It was very traumatic

My experience was ok. My home is wonderful. Even though it was delayed by water issues. My biggest complaint about my home buying experience is my lawn is horrible. The lawn was put in with no water and now it’s dead. By the time I’m finished getting it right I will have spent a ton of money for something that should have been done correctly to start by Lennar. An absolute travesty.
Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Michael,
We are sorry to hear that your experience with the grass in your new home has not been up to your expectations. Moving forward, if you have any questions or warrantable issues, please submit a warranty request online through your Lennar Account. Home is nice but my experience was a mess

The overall buying process was truly terrible. The sales representative didn’t seem confident in our ability to get approved. We spoke with 2 different loan officers who provided us with different information. When we ran into miscommunication issues about our initial approval, our sales representative was ready to cancel our contact as if she didn’t want to deal with us. We had to escalate our issues to management for issues with sales team and loan team. We were asked to provide additional funds for closing which was told hours before. If we didn’t really want this home, we probably ...
Lennar responded:
Hi Brianna, first, we are glad that you found the inspection and construction team to be helpful and attentive. Second, we apologize for the rest of the experience feeling like it was a mess and the lack of communication. We are going to let our division leaders be aware of this so we can help drive improvement. -Lennar Customer Care

The overall process wasn't smooth and the negotiation part could have been better. I didn't have a lot of trust in all that process, seemed like something was all the time hidden from me. When moved I noticed a lot of things were done quickly, just to be done. Especially painting and finished. Lots of things left unfinished which aren't covered by warranty. Overall process I think could have been better. For the future reference, try and negociate the more you can, don't rush and if you finance with Lennar and you don't like your mortgage officer, switch to a different one. That will ...

This is a difficult review to write. While I love my home and am happy to finally be in it and somewhat settled, the process and experience getting here was very disappointing. The close date was moved multiple times. Often Lennar would blame outside sources but most times it was due to poor project management. The delays also cost me more money in the interest rate and escrow. Both my realtor and mortgage lender had to make several calls to get answers. Once I was moved in there were some minor things that I wished had been handled better. The first was the lack of cleanliness. The floors ...

I don’t know where to start here. They use the cheapest labor. Cheapest parts. We moved into our home, and our home received 0 internet signal (we pay through our hoa). Cheap siding that had fallen off more than once. Then the people who fix it, leave white caulking on the side of the house and expect you to file claims to get it fixed. Plumbing was backed up with concrete. Rocks. Trash. Screws. Our customer service rep tried saying “well we can’t prove that it was or wasn’t you”. As if my family and o would take off toilets and sinks, to jam a bunch of rocks and concrete into our new home ...

The sales woman Lauren completely lied through her teeth about multiple things. Most of the time I think she just didn’t know the answer but acted like she did. The day after we signed I never heard from her again despite reaching out multiple times. She passed us off to Elle the homebuyer concierge who was useless. She would take days to get back to me if at all and when she did she would not help at all just tie in someone else from Lennar who wouldn’t respond. The construction manager Michael was clearly lazy and not smart or responsive. I asked him to get me simple measurements on ...

We felt very rushed through the entire experience, Lennar mortgage dropped the ball on numerous occasions and left us wondering if the transaction was going to close. We were rushed through the final walk through process and was forced to accept the home as it was, and were left with numerous issues with damaged appliances, damaged cabinets, incomplete and poor drywall and paint finishes. All of which had to be remedied after closing via a warranty claim. There are still numerous items that have yet to be resolved, almost two months later. The finish work on Lennar homes is sloppy and the materials used are cheap. I have had to replace 4 lights in the 4 weeks I have lived in the brand new home because the lights are of poor quality. The front door is already coming apart and the dishwasher has a work order in to be repaired. The upstairs floors pop when walking across them. The materials used in Lennar homes are inexpensive and will not last the life of the home. I will have to spend my own money to replace all of the recessed lights because they are bad quality. These are things that should not be breaking in a brand new home.

The GC (T) was very responsive in all emails UNTIL we met in person and, in our opinion, saw the buyers were a same sex married couple. From that point on he wouldn’t even talk to my husband and I when we had issues. He would only talk past us to the other Lennar associates. He would not even make eye contact and would walk 10ft ahead of us while TRYING to discuss issues. A total of 3 separate offensive interactions. I voiced my issues to the Lennar staff and my realtor about wanting to be done and pull out. Then magically T was artificially friendly and personable. I’m glad I did a 3rd party ...

From beginning to end our home buying experience with lennar was disappointing. When we bought the property in November we were told an August finish date and everything was delayed till December the following year. During the time from putting our initial deposit and signing the contract to breaking ground there was no form of communication from anyone representing lennar. We disagree with the closing process where only 2 walkthroughs are given before closing. We weren’t able to blue tape the house ourselves and things were missed. As realtors and having brought 10 new clients to the community prior to our own purchase, my wife and I expected to have an advantage going into the new construction process with Lennar. No such luck. Having been assigned the worst construction manager we've met - a 25-year old who was brand new to the community, new to his trade crews and new to us - the experience was more challenging, more confrontational and upsetting than we could have ever imagined. We came to know Parker as Mr. No because his knee jerk reaction to every request for improvement was "no", or "It's not Lennar standard", ...

Highly recommend having a home inspector. After moving in there are little issues left and right that I don't feel like I should be finding in a new build. Sod that is not placed properly, floor buckling, uneven walls, uneven floors etc. After paying 400k + for a house I should not feel like i've been cheated in a way. Not sure if I recommend Lennar.

The house was not even finished when we did our tour before closing. We closed with the promise things would be completed. It took months before everything was completed. The finish work (cabinet marks, molding, doors and painting) are awful!! The paint brusheds were dirty and it left brush marks and dirt on the molding throughout the house. Painters came back several times to try to correct the issues but to no avail. The taping in the garage is terrible.

The construction supervisor was unresponsive to concerns and issues brought to his attention through out the build - issues that should have been fixed before drywall so later entire walls had to be ripped down and re constructed. The issues were allowed to accumulate while the typical response received was “Lennar has a process”. After having the construction supervisor removed from the premises due to his circular communication style and near absolute lack of action to cure issues his supervisor started making changes however this was very late in the schedule. To start I sat down and filled out the paperwork to start the process of getting my house built in October of 2021. I was in the process of selling my house so I was only able to put down a portion of the deposit required. After I sold my house in November I was able to pay the rest. From there things went south. I was originally told that we would be in the house in April/May of 2022. I found out that the plat took a month to record and then the permits were not applied for until January of 2022 with a start date in February. This pushed our closing back to July of 2022. Cutting too many corners, bathroom ceiling downlights that replace a $40 fixture with a $5 fixture but make it virtually impossible for the homeowner to come back and add proper lights. Elimination of any kitchen/breakfast lights and dining room light that are of really poor quality---in a half million dollar plus house. Then there are things like the carpet and padding which is of such poor quality that it has to be replaced in a couple of year, it is the lowest of the low end--wall paint where you can see the brush strokes because the painters watered it down so much to meet their budget ...
