i will never buy the home from lennar again

Before we moved in it was very attentive to my needs, which should have been done before I had to pick them out. Not little scratches on walls but Sprinkler lines broke and spraying water in the air, doors jammed shut and was hard to open. Air handler doors off... No lights in a closet. As of 2 months later still nothing is fixed. I had to have a sprinkler guy come stop the water being wasted running down the street. Im pretty sure I will not be buying another Lennar home .

This is my retirement home and I was willing to pay extra for some up grades but was told that I couldn't go off the blueprints . When a client is paying cash for the home , which I did , they should be given that option . Overall it is a very well built house !

While the people that work at Lennar have been nice and ok to work with, the quality of the home simply is not there -- especially for the price. This is hands down the lowest quality home we have ever lived in despite it being the most expensive we have ever purchased. If there was a cheaper material to be purchased or a corner that could be cut, Lennar took it. Sadly we are not happy in our brand new home and do not recommend purchasing from Lennar.

I had previously bought a new build with Lennar back in 2018 and I loved my home. When I needed to relocate I bought from a different builder and was not impressed. This time for my forever build I knew Lennar was my builder and I once again have loved my home and the stress free process of the purchase.

Disappointed in the attention to detail. Glue on back patio not cleaned. Nail pops on back of house. Weeds in yard front and back a foot tall Lawn 6” high with crab grass. Flooding against house. All pointed out at final walk. None addressed

Mtg experience was the worst! No customer service and unethical in information. Repairs that were recorded and noted during final walk have not been completed and has been a hassle to get completed.

There are multiple hollow tiles in our home that move, that caused the ground to break, when we called out to get it fixed, they fixed the grout but not didn’t fill in mortar. Our stove/ microwave combo wasn’t installed correctly, it slammed down and broke the whole cabinetry. We were told it’s not safe to use anymore and now we are waiting for somebody to come out. It’s been two weeks now. Our Irrigation system has not worked ever and we’re being told that it’s not even covered by the warranty. No one seems to care that they sold us a faulty irrigation system. Not to mention all the other little things that could’ve been avoided if the house was built with attention to detail. ... More

Great customer service, from the beginning to the end, easy selection and options of for plans to choose, the best sales representative on the market, the best financial team can you possibly can get with them, easy transaction from the beginning to the end, super happy, you can’t go wrong choose LENNAR, great quality products, great craftsmanship on the house.

Overall experience is great. Happy!

Great experience along the way with Lennar,my only complaint is now that I am living there the HOA isn’t responding to any of my requests to finish out the house and put up and fence

Right from her visit to Lennar office in December 23 to signing the documents in April24 the journey has been very efficient and satisfactory. Laura kept us updated reg the progress of the construction. Walk through was detailed with Sharmin. The only thing I was underwhelmed by is my closing day. Firstly there is nothing like celebration. I did not have to go back and forth to the office to close and get the keys. Everything could have been done at the home after the final walk through with Matt who was very nice. I could have received all the contact numbers for utilities right on my kitchen island. I had to ask the gentleman covering for Laura in The office for them and then he started to message me with those numbers. There should have been a welcoming folder with all the important phone numbers like utilities, watering days, landscaping, pest control, lanai, pool etc. Laura was busy that day. It would have been nice to have Laura there for us but I understand she was assigned elsewhere. But I love my home. Got what I paid for and am happy ... More

Overall happy with our home but disappointed for the quality of work. Our short period here we have had roof shingles off, water damage from the second floor bathroom, and several other items we have found.

The homebuying was very smooth with Lenner

Grass takes a long time to get installed. Mud runs down the street and pools up in front of my home, so road repair is needed to make the water run off. AC needed tuned and was fixed quickly! Common areas need maintenance in a big way, please address.

Lennar is one of the largest homebuilders. I expected so much more from Lennar and our new home. Lennar tried to use the bully/gorilla approach to get us to sign paperwork (even inaccurate contract paperwork), and use all their services (Lennar Title, Lennar Escrow, Lennar Insurance, Lennar Design Center, Lennar Mortgage, etc.). For example, if you don't use both Lennar Escrow and Title, they jack up the price on Escrow fees to make it financially difficult not to use them. They offer incentives when you buy ($20K toward improvements) but then when you go to the design center to choose flooring, for example, the flooring is so outrageously expensive it consumes all the incentives (flooring thru their Design Center was quoted at $34K for approx 2100 sq ft of luxury vinyl plank. Better quality flooring from a commercial vendor was $15K. So the Lennar game is simple (if we give you $20K in incentives, then you end up paying $15K out of pocket anyway. But, then we would have used up our incentive money and still paid $15K). We went with a commercial flooring company, got significantly better flooring than what Lennar offered, paid $15K, and used the $20K incentive money to pay most of the cost for the solar system that we had to either purchase or lease (we live in CA and new homes must have solar). And speaking of solar, since we must have solar, Lennar does not allow you to choose your solar company. We had to use their contractor (which I believe Lennar is affiliated with or even owns a portion of Sunnova) and we had to pay $28K for a 4KW system. We just installed a very similar system on my daughter's house and we only paid $23K for that system. As a captive audience, I believe Lennar takes advantage of the customer. A specific example of bullying: Lennar could not complete construction and meet the original closing date of March 14, 2024. They pushed that out until April 24, 2024. However, they tried to get us to sign paperwork (and this went on for weeks as I kept pushing back) that stated the Buyer has requested a change in escrow closing date. I told them we did not request a change in escrow closing date, we will not sign. They insisted it wasn't a big deal, just a letter that needed signing. I asked why they were requesting we sign a document we both know is false. And we were repeatedly told not to worry, it was just a simple letter. After weeks of pushing back, we were finally told we didn't have to sign it since we had already moved in and we had paid cash!? If we didn't push back, Lennar would have had us sign a knowingly false document. We don't know why they were so adamant we sign but assume there must be a metric about how many homes close on time and they wanted it to appear they closed on time, but that we requested the delay. So careful with all legal documents and read them all and understand them. Looking at Customer Care and Customer Service, the quality of the homes Lennar builds could be questioned. We understand a home has a lot of materials and parts, and requires a lot of labor; however, that doesn't mean the house should not be in tip top shape when we are to move in. You wouldn't drive a car off a lot if the paint was uneven, the doors didn't close fully and latch, the interior had scratches, and/or if the car was really dirty. Lennar did not do a good job of cleaning our home prior to them "forcing" us to close escrow. Carpeting had stains (grease and what appeared to some blood), cabinets had scuffs, countertops had scuffs, fiberglass tub had nicks and scratches, walls were painted unevenly due to some areas not even having 1 full coat covering texture, shower tile floor had been walked on with dirty boots and grout not protected so it was very dirty, exterior paint was not applied well and in many areas bare wood was still visible, not all cabinetry was squared up and the dishwasher nook was too small for the dishwasher door to open properly, and there are many more issues on our list. Perhaps the worst part about this is now that we are moved in and have no leverage like we did before closing, repairs are hard to get done, we must be home for 4-hour windows of time (that is what Lennar contractors give you), and now in many cases, they come out do work, mess other stuff up, and then must come back. They are not all careful when working in your new home. Hooking up our ice cube maker line (because the installer forget to do that) resulted in the refrigerator having to be pulled out. While pulling out by manhandling, our new cabinets were chipped and the wood cabinet trim was forced out of alignment. When flushed, our toilet water line made a banging noise. To remedy that, an anti-hammer device was installed on the toilet tank line where the line comes out of the wall. Now we have this unsightly device in our bathroom (if the lines in the wall were strapped or secured properly, this would not have been an issue). There are many more issues being worked on. It would be better quality to just do it right the first time (and not cut corners hoping the buyer will not notice, or won't care, or will just get beaten down with all the time wasted waiting around for repair people to show up). Put plastic protection on fiberglass tubs, cover the countertops with rosin paper or plastic, cover floor grout with paper, apply 2 solid coats of paint, don't shove a dishwasher in a cabinet slightly too small to fit the dishwasher, do a thorough house cleaning before closing, and don't make your customers have to pay for an inspector or do their own exhaustive inspection for something that is your responsibility. As a Lennar employee, think about the car analogy and if you would be happy seeing that new car with cosmetic and functional shortcomings? So don't treat us that way. And respect our time as if it were as valuable as yours. By not having the house 100% ready for move in, that forces us as your customers to have to dedicate hours and hours of our time waiting!! ... Once items were not resolved on the punch list we were passed to many different individuals and did not appear it was any one specific individual's job to resolve the house to get us to close. Do not recommend the mortgage team for the same reason. I would not purchase through Lennar again based on this experience.

House is great, service is poor. Lennar doesn't care once they have your money. Follow-up on issues is slow and you are made to feel like your issues are so trivial. A lot of money is spent on a new home, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for even minor things to be right. I shouldnt have to fix things on my own.

The sales person for my home was horrible. Had no clue what she was doing. Numbers were all over the place every single day. The mortgage and title people were nice though. But, no one ever gave me the exact breakdown of how much my payments were. Totally unacceptable. In fact, I am probably going to sell my house.

I didn't find Lennar had any good communication with buyer

My experience with Lennar was outstanding. I would highly recommend Lennar to family or friends that are looking for a quality new construction home. From our first introduction to the new home consultants, the Lennar mortgage agents, to the customer care team, Lennar made our dream of owning a new home become a reality.

I think this builder doesn't pay enough attention to details. I've had far too many issues that indicate to me that the build was a rush job. Issues with the stove, dishwasher, cosmetic oversights, the almost dead sod/grass in my backyard, even down to the amount of studs in the wall that make it difficult to mount a TV in the living room. The design of the home is beautiful but it seems this builder has cut corners to save on costs. And these oversights have caused me to open a lot of service tickets for fixes when if they just took their time and reviewed their work, none of these issues wouldn't have arisen. ... More
