VERY HAPPY WITH OUR NEW HOME

Home buying process was a breeze for us. Very happy with the house and location. We were looking to downsize but this is such a spacious home. Doesn't feel like a downsize at all. My kitchen has an awesome huge island with plenty of cabinets. Space is definitely not a factor here. Love the way the fence surround the whole house ensuring privacy.

LIED ABOUT THE FLOORING

There's a lot of little issues with the house, mostly cosmetic. The dishwasher door doesn't close it's scraping the top of the counter. There's a lot of shotty work. The door frames are about an inch from the floor so they just filled it in with caulk. The grout is like sand and it just dusts away when you clean, it it just comes out from in between the tiles.. several broke in half quarter round pieces that they just fixed it with caulk, one door frame is even made with two separate pieces of wood that they just poorly patched but my biggest problem is the fact that this house has laminate ...

Quality of workmanship is Lacking

We were told we had to close, did not have Certificate of Occupancy. At final walk through only 80% of the work was completed. 3 months later we are still waiting on ‘blue tape’ items to be finished.

The construction / sales dept has NO follow up

Buying a home from Lennar is like buying and RV. Once you buy it your salesperson drops you like a bad habit. Arthur our salesperson won't call or email you back and then when asked about he states he tried but I wouldn't return his call. which is a bold face lie. Chris the construction person was supposed to get back with me in a couple of day about an issue. It has been over two weeks. So in conclusion , If Lennar folks can't honor their word what good are they? I mean after all how much effort does it take to respond to a buyers Issue? It speaks to the culture at Lennar where ...

Absolutely horrible experience all the way from the looking at the home to closing. Zero communication within the company, everything is compartmentalized. Straight up will lie to your face. Use FOMO tactics to get anything done. God forbid you call them out on the workmanship and they have to make repairs. Just easier to pay someone else after the process to get your home to where you want to be.

Lennar responded:
Hi Harrison, we thank you for your feedback and review. We want to apologize for the sub par communication and we will be informing our division leaders about this to help improve. -Lennar Customer Care

Quality control is lacking

Our purchase experience with Nate was very good. He was very attentive, personable and responsive. The lack of choice in materials selection was an issue. We found multiple metals used for fixtures rather than just one, i.e. mixture of brushed nickel and chrome versus just one. Examples of poor workmanship are everywhere. They used caulk to keep pavers in place on front stoop versus using cement. Painters are sloppy. Light fixtures weren’t reinstalled after painting. Numerous holes exist in installed sod lawn. Our punch list of items requiring attention exceeds 20 so far and we’ve ...

Tedious and disappointing

This has been tiresome and disappointing all the way around from beginning to end. The salesperson misled us on when amenities would be completed, the unit wasn't finished even though we traveled a great distance for our closing & to move in, no one ever reached out to say it was delayed. Even after we moved in the work wasn't completed and was shoddy. In just 2 months we've had to constantly get into touch with them for issues (referred to warranty) and schedule workers to come. Yesterday 2 guys came to fix one thing and we discovered after they left they made a gash in the Sheetrock in the ...

Awful buying process and experience

  • Lilibeth R.

Awful experience! At final walkthrough the house had terrible detailing and the customer service agent didn’t resolve. It’s one thing before you close and another after closing! Lennar practically abandons you after closing and you have to resolve through warranty, which is an impersonal online unfriendly and confusing process! I will never again buy from Lennar! You shouldn’t either!

Lennar responded:
Hi Lilibeth, we are deeply saddened that you have found your purchase with us to be an awful experience. We can assure you that we have not abandoned you and we care about your satisfaction even after closing. Our team will be made aware of this issue so we can address. -Lennar Customer Care

Service Dept Bailout

A 1500-unit development with no onsite sales manager. Sales department was not organized on what is going on with the development. Construction personal are drive by superintendents, that let the subcontractors do what they want without supervision or direction. Lennar's in field creed is to pass all mistakes onto the service department. Building wasn't finished during walk through or closing. Hats off to Maria Vasquaz of the service department to finish off the buildings and do it efficiently and make many homeowners happy.

Lennar responded:
Hi Jeffrey. We are sorry to hear that you experienced a negative situation with or construction team and we are going to be informing our team about this so we can help drive improvement. -Lennar Customer Care

Beautiful homes and locations

My experience with purchasing a home from Lennar was mixed, marked by both disappointment and satisfaction across two attempts. Initially, our enthusiasm was dampened when, due to an oversight in lot size calculations, we learned that our chosen design could not be constructed on our selected lot. Despite this setback, we decided to give Lennar another chance, drawn by their desirable locations. The second attempt was notably smoother, with the construction process concluding on schedule. However, the closing process was cumbersome, requiring constant vigilance on my part to ensure ...

Avoid using Lennar's lender!

We got sucked into using Lennar's lender for money towards closing. If the housing market wasn't so tight right now we would have backed out after dealing with the lender Jennifer. She was unresponsive, unprofessional & lacked knowledge required to do her job. It was a terrible first time homebuying experience. If you can avoid this, go with Lennar, if not stay clear.

The process went fairly well until closing. Gutters were suppose to be included as an option and we emphatically told the sales person doing the final contract we wanted them. We had even had a specific discussion about that when we were first looking at Lennar homes. We were assured by the sales person we could get them as an option on homes in Brunswick Plantation. He accidentally forgot to mark them off on the final options list. We were buying out of state so could not come down to see it until closing. No gutters and because it wasn't on the final option list (not our fault because the ...

The most important thing I would suggest to perspective buyers is to be at the home site weekly, address the concerns as you seem them and make sure you do not close on your home until all punch items are resolved. Also make sure you get your own home inspector.
