We bought our first home in SC with DH Horton and thought they needed to improve their craftsmanship, but Lennar has them beat two fold!! It was a negative experience commencing with the home orientations == closing had to be pushed back because of the inadequacy in the non-completion and sloppiness in construction, overlooking details we asked to be fixed and just plain ignoring before closing! The quality or lack of quality by the "so called cleaning crew" to make the house be cleaned correctly; paint stains all over the floors! One of the positive attributes of DH Horton is that they give the new homeowners a 10 month walk through were they fixed any cracks, nail studs that occur with the house settling. Lennar just cleans their hands and says "it's your problem now"!!! Although it may be stipulated in the "warranty", this should not be an issue to have this be part of what should be covered in your 1 year warranty. When you walk into the model, it gives you the illusion that Lennar is paying close attention to the craftsmanship and details, but that is all it is -- an illusion! We've had the same conversation with some of the other new owners, and it's always the same speech given by your salesforce "you have to remember these are not custom built homes -- therefore, you can't expect everything to be perfect!" Well, when you're paying in the $300's for a new home, we should have certain expectations as a finished product! PS: I rated a two star for "value for price paid" because after we bought our house, we find out there were 8 houses for sale for $40-$50,000 less -- how is that interpreted as getting a good value for your money! ... Over all my experience has been good. I want to say how good the customer service has been GREAT. Every time I have had an issue the response has been right on. I understand that everything takes time to complete. I am wondering when the fence will be finished so I am able to fence the rest of my yard. My neighbors all have dogs so I am in need of a fence. Maintained a great working relationship with builder rep and customer care rep after the sale. Very pleased with the concern by both individuals for attention to detail and response to customer concerns.

We moved into our house and several things still needed fixing! From painting, fixing a door that wouldn’t close to cabinets that have major cracks in them, under bathroom cabinets that have not been sealed or painted, caulking around one of the toilets to the master shower drain being plugged with debris and wouldn’t drain at all. That took 3 times coming 1 to see what was wrong, the other two times to “snake the drain” before it finally worked. In a nutshell it looked they they just threw it together at the end! We’ve contacted the contractor and site manager numerous times. Some things have been resolved but the cabinets won’t be replaced until March! This is so unacceptable! ... More

Where I can start? Beginning the mortgage process was a nightmare, they always give me a different number than the first time, at the end we agreed in the condition but was not that I expected. Then, the house build, they make me close my house end of November, the house was finish end of December, that’s crazy. The neighborhood is great and the house is beautiful, however the process was a nightmare and they could be better with us.

My loan processor Robin was trash. She asked for documents repeatedly after I would submit them to her and to the portal every 2 weeks. Don't believe anything the sales guy says especially when I comes to warranty, tiles popping up are not part of the warranty even though he said Lennar wants the homeowner to wait one year to see the issue once it settles. Home warranty is one year. Warranty reps are tough guys.....through text messages. Will never buy or recommend Lennar.

I recommend that the buyer actually visit the model they are considering. We didn't and were a little surprised about the size of the storage.

Post closing attendance has been poor. Problems has not been fixed after two month from closing. Special electrical problems and finishing problems. My experience has been that there is not a person from LENNAR that follows the solution to the problems. The responsibilities are avoided by appointing some other departments and the end nobody follows up.

Superintendent, Sales, and Financing folks were all very helpful and on top of it. Responded quickly to any questions asked.

its a great home

The title company was not great. No communication at all and subsequent communication after closing was non existent. important in time sensitive docs were sent to the original address. Wish we knew development has not been registered with Usps. There’s no communication of that either. So disappointing the tail end of the process and would rather go to a third-party title company.

You do get a lot with the new home. Fence, grass, bark, trees and shrubs. Good luck with getting timely responses and fixes to warranty issues. They could greatly improve in this area.

My home buyers experience was above my expectations. This was my 3rd time purchasing a home and it went very smoothly. My loan officer and my loan processor was exceptional. The only process that could have went better was my orientation and walk through. I felt like it was rushed because I had my closing on the same day, but all in all it the whole process was great! I have to especially thank my loan processor, she needs a promotion.

My experience was less than satisfying. At least I made it through the absolute train wreck from start to my 5 hour cluster of a closing experience and thought I could live happily in my home. But, NO!! Lennar didn't schedule a final inspection for the loan and out of the blue nearly 2 months after I close I find out they are threatening legal against me for them not scheduling an inspection??? This is beyond ridiculous!!

My experience has not been the best from the beginning. The telephone tree kind of communication with the site manager and sales person in not getting the message right. I can go into details about how hard it was to talk to Chandra. Then the mortgage officer rarely listen to us and the constant missed opportunities of communicating on what was needed and not needed. The back and forward was confusing. Then I lost my VA opportunity in buying this home. That was just the beginning part of my his. Please call to find out more

Workmanship in every aspect poor quality. Poor response to the issues of the house before closing and after. Damage appliances were place in the house which Lennar has not taken care of. Exterior damage to appliances Frigidaire will not cover under the warranty

Overall it was a great Experience!! There was little issues when we 1st moved in, but that’s the nice part of having a new place with warranty, then buying as is. Lennar came out and fixed the issue and with any other issues, they are still coming out to check and fix issues . With that a HUGE shout out to Rudy! And another reason for the 5 star on trustworthy! When they say they’re gonna come out to help or fix …. You can trust him!!! A true professional!! For the price, it was good but of course, everyone would say would be nice if it was cheaper lol. Do not close on your home until everything on your punch list is completed. Hire a home inspector. We have had roof leaks, electrical issues with entire rooms, cabinets not completed (we are looking at months before this is done). We have entire doors that needed rehung, tile needed to be replaced and properly installed. We've had one of our bathrooms plumbing completely installed incorrectly. (COLD was HOT and HOT was COLD). When friends and family ask me about Lennar homes, I stir them away. I've bought several homes and never had these many issues with a new home. I bought a 20-year-old home that did not have issues like this. Do not let them tell you when they are selling you the home that it's just like the model. Ours is missing light fixtures, and the lanai was not screened in just to name a few. When I asked our sales representative, they stated they never told us that it was going to be just like the model, and they work for Lennar and not us. I've talked to a few other neighbors with same issues. I've read many other reviews and now know I'm not the only one having issues like this. It's disgusting behavior. ... More

I could not have asked for a more incredible experience for my first time buying a home. Everyone I worked with at Lennar - Laila, Jamie, Sean, Wayne, Vince, and Mallory have been amazing. Super responsive, accommodating, and all around just great people to get to interact with. I am so grateful!

Communication through the building process could have been better

Wish there were more upgrade options, such as Ethernet wiring to all rooms.

The Lennar crew was responsive to all of my questions on various issues. I continually had access to them.

The home buying experience was really great.
