Overall experience wasn’t great

Sales agent is awesome, loan officer might be the most unprofessional person I have ever done business with, service request was okay but rigid on time availability and not considering the customer, customer service agents are great but can do a little with empathy, some finishing could have been better and materials installed a little better. Overall, not enough positive to refer someone or even think about future business with the company.

Lennar responded:

Lennar sales team is very aggressive and compels to sign the purchase agreement within a day. Once an agreement is signed, Sales team do not have complete information of the home features and takes long time to respond to subsequent queries. Asking if there is an EV outlet provision in garage took almost 10 days.I have to remind 5 times over email to request change in purchase solar agreement. Lennar mandates to buy solar battery which do not make it customer obsessed. I have to put 30k cash just for solar. Besides solar installers takes 1plus months to activate solar system. Despite promises and numerous requests, only a few photos were taken during construction. The final inspection was a disaster. The sales person was not present at the final inspection, nor was the construction supervisor (we were informed he had several inspections that were scheduled for the same date/time). Lennar is driven solely by the schedule to close to satisfy upper management directives....work is done with the approach of "it's good enough, let's move on to the next unit". The warranty department is presented with a list of items to correct....items that should not have passed ...

The final walk through was chaotic as the superintendent rushed through many issues. We didn’t have ample time to inspect the major issues and only in out when moving it. But once the problems submitted they were handled in a timely manor.

Started out great. Our application and special requirements all sent in to underwriters for review. About two weeks from our closing date, the woman in. Sales contacts us to let us know that they decided to relist our house at a lower price!!!! What the "f"? We were so close to the end of our underwriting, there was no reason to expect we would not close. We worked hard the entire process and did close on the home,on time. We moved in just before Thanksgiving and have had two floods (one due to damaged underground drain and one due to builder installed washer). The warranty process has been slow and tedious. Additionally, I feel like the pre closing inspection process was designed to overlook items. All "cosmetic" matters (paint issues, touch ups, cracks, etc) walk through person says "I have this", then we move in and there are paint issues everywhere, cracks everywhere (eg crown molding, cabinet molding with 1/4" + gaps in several spots). The response I got before closing was "initial walkthrough was the ...

Lennar mortgage officer Tom was quite difficult to work with, After establishing this was my first property and needed various issues explained, at times the answers were borderline rude, left me feeling like an idiot for asking a question he was inferring I should know the answer. Was nice in general conversation but didn't feel the need to explain. I found issues with his work, initially I wanted 20% down. Later to find out that the numbers in his system were showing 18% down and added insurance. He didn't see the need to make corrections and re send the correct figures. I was away ...

It seems that they were trying to get the work done to sell the house. The workman ship was very poor. We had to walk this home 3 time and items were not addressed as of our purchase date. My first home was a significant milestone, but my experience with Lennar Homes fell short of expectations. While I am thrilled to have a home of my own, the process felt disjointed, transactional, often frustrating with numerous communication issues and unresolved challenges. Communication during the home-buying process was inconsistent and heavily one-sided. While Lennar’s representatives did communicate when they needed something from me, they rarely responded to my questions or requests. Customer service is not good. The master bedroom shower is useless with no tap at the bottom and sliding glass door is hard to clean. The master bedroom wic is literally in the corner you have to walk through the bathroom to get there and there is no power outlet in it. The start of the process was great, the sales team and mortgage group did an outstanding job (great communication, attentive to questions and concerns and just a pleasure to deal with). We bought our first starter home from Lennar some years ago and had a positive experience about it, so we thought “why not” when we received a call from the new home consultant about the availability of a lakefront property at Northlake, a community four miles from the Sacramento Metro airport.
