Multiple delays with construction, appliances and closing. No communication with home buyer. Sales, construction, loan officers & closing don't communicate with each other. Don't respond to phone calls, texts or emails.

Terrible and embarrassing

Outside of the project manager who took over at the very end of our build, the building experience was terrible and Lennar as a whole excused away poor quality and lack of communication as just "part of building a new home".

Lennar responded:

Love the house, hate the follow-through on punch-list items

We closed on our house in September. We were told the day before that major issues still remained (appliances not delivered, etc.). We've been struggling with Lennar for months now (mid-November) to handle paint, drywall, flooring, cracked tubs, etc. They say they will fix things, and eventually they have been getting to issues one by one, but it takes forever. Everyone in the neighborhood has this same experience. Lennar does not have enough focus on the last 2% of fit and finish, and does not have enough resources focused on keeping commitments to new owners.

Disappointed by the purchase process

  • Daniel L.

Our purchase was marred by the end of the process. The walk through (via video) was impossible because so many things had not been completed (carpet not installed, appliances not in place, cabinet hardware not installed, no shower enclosure, heating and air not operational and so on). How does the builder expect a customer to close under those conditions? They should not. The closing was driven by the builder's fiscal quarter end and not the satisfactory completion of the unit. Something is wrong when they're still painting the interior even after closing. To satisfy shareholders in the ...

There were a lot of things on our warranty list that had to be completed and has not been completed yet. Some of the outside stucco work looks shabby. The yards are not designed to be wheelchair accessible. Wood chips right next to driveway is messy and you can't get get out your car without stepping on them and spreading them on the driveway. It is not a good front yard design. My husband just recently found out he may have to use a wheelchair we can't get his wheelchair out or walker on a smooth surface when he first get out the car. The driveway is so small that his wheelchair or walker ...

Not the best support from beginning to end from LENNER.

We all know how crazy the market is right now, but our experience wasn’t great from the sales room, to Lenner mortgage, all the way to closing. No support after closing either.. We love our home, the location is perfect and pricing was decent (taking into consideration what the world is going through). Definitely feels like a “Too big of a company” where they no longer focus on service standards.

very disappointed at the quality of work that was done with the house. The first week we moved in the AC wasn't working properly. then a week later went completely out and we needed to get a brand new AC unit. a lot of cracks on walls and floor boards. There's an issue with the design outside that it still not been fixed. The dishwasher seems like it was not installed properly because it takes couple of attempts to actually close the door. The Warranty team are helping when they can but for a house that's 589k brand new, I shouldn't have to all these things that my family and I are going ...

Overall. 3/5. House quality seems like they just wanted to push these houses out. Freezer has been inoperable since day 1. Havnt been able to et fixed or replaced. Followed all recommended steps from Lennar team to get fixed. Point blaming between builder and appliance company. Master closet shelving collapsed on itself first week of puttting clothes on it. Carpet nails sticking up at edges of liners. “Was told to step over nails” I’m like “I have kids” I can’t even get them stop running around the house let alone try and tell them to never step over nails sticking out of the ...

To start I sat down and filled out the paperwork to start the process of getting my house built in October of 2021. I was in the process of selling my house so I was only able to put down a portion of the deposit required. After I sold my house in November I was able to pay the rest. From there things went south. I was originally told that we would be in the house in April/May of 2022. I found out that the plat took a month to record and then the permits were not applied for until January of 2022 with a start date in February. This pushed our closing back to July of 2022. Once the building ...

Home buying and issues resolve

Home buying experience is below average compared to other builders. Issue resolving is worst possible. I have 2 lennar homes (one in Florida, and one in Jurupa Valley CA). Florida house is 2 year old and California house is 2 month old. Whenever I create a issue, computer system picks up my Florida home address and case automatically closes as it is out of warranty. Computer is not picking up new California address for issues, even if I enter it manually. So far I have very tough time in getting issues resolved and I do not know what to do. Hope someone picks up this issue and resolves it.

Truth be told I went with Lennar because of all of the in-home design options they offered. After touring the staged homes, it took 3 attempts at getting a home because Lennar's internet sales team and new home sales team were not in sync on new customer appointments, therefore they were selling homes to people who did not have an appointment, even though I scheduled an appointment twice with them . Fast forward, on my third attempt I finally was able to pick my lot, but after doing so they told me the particular home build wasn't available on most of there lots, and the one that was ...

Once the contract to purchase was signed it was all downhill from there. My contact onsite never kept the commitments he made to reach out. He and the loan rep at Lennar Mortgage didn't communicate with each other. The loan rep never reached out unless I pestered him. The time and location for the doc signing was arbitrarily set and had to be rearranged at the last minute. After move it there has been many issues - range has gas smell, grading of the landscape causing ponding, doorbell doesn't work, the sprinklers are not set up correctly, and more - none of which has been addressed. The post ...

This is poorly built home. There are multiple issues. The builder has been responsive, most of the time but not all the time. I have been given excuses as to why the air conditioner upstairs is fine, even though the 2ns story is 5-6 degrees warmer in summer than the first floor. End result is that the builder has said "tough luck and under the RWC the A/C works fine. The plumber voided the warranty on the first floor tub due to improper installation. Builder refuses to rip out the tub and re-install properly. I was given a band aid solution of inserting foam. The manufacturer said they ...

I have worked with and for builders over the last 20 years and have purchased new homes in the past. This has been a disappointing experience. This is our second Lennar build. Our new house was build in a more expensive neighborhood. The quality of materials and workmanship do now show that we are in a nicer neighborhood. There were clearly so many cut corners that were not cut in our first house. The overall experience was much worse compared to our first build. We still have issues that have not been handled and we have lived in our new home for 2 months now. We do understand that our house was build in the middle of a pandemic, but for what we are spending, more care should be spent to make sure the customer is getting a quality ...

We had a mostly good experience with Lennar. The flooring that our agent told us we were getting ended up being totally different then what was installed. When we called out the difference Lennar only offered us the option to back out of our contract instead of fixing the problem or offering any sort of credit for the mess up. We were really disappointed with how the issue was handled. We made our decision to buy the house based off what was told to us about the finishings that were going in.

When we were first shown our Lennar home, we were very eager and excited about the home and the neighborhood. We signed our contract in October and we’re told our closing date would be December. I understand that there are supply chain issues and other things out of Lennar’s hands that caused a delay in building, but we did not close on our house until the end of April.
