Good house if you can wait

The house was supposed to be ready in September or early October but wasn’t finished until late December. The home is well made but the granite had a huge stain/black mark and we needed to get it replaced on our own, they said it was natural, even tho everyone that saw it said it was ugly.Also, I was told they would “make it happen” to get us a refrigerator and when it came time the agent said no. The disorganized nature of your closing process and miscommunication was unparalleled. Never had a more frustrating experience in my life. Unresponsive. Rude. Disorganized. Lack of knowledge etc. I could not get keys but finally a woman who was a manager took time 7am on a Sunday morning to let me in. She was really helpful, annd fantastic , and an exception the the rule.

Communication is terrible! Condo was not completed on time. Multiple issues. Still waiting on kitchen cabinet hardware almost 2 months after close. Shower door is not what was shown to us in the model. It was installed one month after closing and it was a a cheap replacement. That issue is still on going. We were told we would receive a $2600 rebate for these issues and it still is not resolved i.e. check issued.

The overall experience is not what I expected. There were and still are many issues with our home. We closed 11/30 and still have not fully moved in due to outstanding issues such as air conditioner not running properly. Windows have issues and can’t close and can’t lock some of them. Lots of small issues that have been taken care of but just the overall time and effort it took to get the problems fixed was exhausting. Sprinklers have a leak which is causing us to use over 2000 gallons of water a day which is going to give us an extremely expensive water bill. Construction manager has done ...

This is my third Lennar home and by far the worst experience I have had purchasing a new home. I closed six weeks ago and there are a few items that aren't even complete yet, and many repairs that need to be made, I flew into town for my walk through, and noone showed up until I flagged down one of the sales guys. Very disappointed.

My loan processor Robin was trash. She asked for documents repeatedly after I would submit them to her and to the portal every 2 weeks. Don't believe anything the sales guy says especially when I comes to warranty, tiles popping up are not part of the warranty even though he said Lennar wants the homeowner to wait one year to see the issue once it settles. Home warranty is one year. Warranty reps are tough guys.....through text messages. Will never buy or recommend Lennar.

Bad experience with stuart and the Ivan (Customer rep). This is regarding the dent on the refrigerator. David inspected (Sep 20th) the house before we moved in. And found there is a big dent to the refrigerator and he contacted the respective team to replace it with a new one. Seems they agreed for a replacement (I don't know who he contacted). Till now no one contacted me for a replacement. It's been months and no one contacted me on this. I was not expecting this kind of service from Lennar. I've talked with my new neighbors and we all agree that Lennar has the best home designs. Lennar floorplans and communities work really well for modern family life. They are in great locations with clever designs, efficient use of space, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, that's the only positive part of the experience. The sales and post sales experience is terrible suffering from a complete lack of communication, constant errors (or lies?), and a lack of follow through. A lot of the information on the website has a legal disclaimer because in the end, it turns out to be inaccurate. ...

My experience with Lennar. Is very poor and disappointing. First I talk to the builder Lance about my sod water unit and I also talked to the Plummer that installed it before the plumbing went up. And told them I had a soft water unit they said it was going to be ok. And it was addressed and I had the system removed from my old home and brought down to the new house and they couldn’t install it because they never installed a bypass because the house has fire sprinkler, the workmen shop is very poor they have to keep coming out to repair issues, they installed carbon monoxide sensor. Workmanship is terrible. The grass in the garden is pretty much dead at this point. No toilet paper holders, shower rails, soap dishes, broken roof tiles, damaged windows screens, lamp on the front lawn doesn’t work, cracked/missing tiles in the driveway, unwired faceplates throughout the home, paint dripping over light switches/tiles, holes behind all light switches, loose fixtures in the all bathrooms, all windows blinds hung the wrong way, gaps in doors throughout the home, missing stucco all over the outside of the home, grass wasn’t placed Properly resulting in tripping hazards ...

I would highly recommend you get a plan, with dates on paper from Lennar. The weekly status updates were in the form of a phone call and if it wasn't for my notes from those, there would be zero accountability. We faced numerous delays which is to be expected with a new build but hit a series of catastrophic issues as we got closer to the close date. If Lennar would just be honest and pro-actively communicate the schedule and any change of schedule, it would help alleviate a lot of the frustration allowing home buyers to better plan for their move. Horrible experience with a few employees that did their job well. Initial walk through of the home showed build quality and finishing touches were mediocre with cracked shower fiberglass to deep scratched windows to paint drops on the kitchen floor to drawers scratched. Kristine took care of it professionally and quickly. We have lived in our house for a month and have multiple large cracks in our sheet rock where the ceiling meets the wall. The home is beautiful but the whole experience of buying was horrible

I went into the first time homebuilding experience with an open mind and trust that what I was told I was getting in my new home was true. Turns out that some pretty important things that I expected to have in my home were taken away without Lennar telling me. They took both bath tubs out of my house and was told that it is a 55+ community and elderly people don’t want bath tubs…well I’m 60 I’m not elderly and elderly people have grandchildren and dogs to bathe then I come to find out that the models with three bathrooms have at least 1 tub in their house! The whole Lennar home buying experience was horrible. I would not recommend Lennar to any of my friends. If I wouldn't have lost so much money, I would have backed out of buying the home. From the start I was lied to about things and promise things that never happened. There are so many issues I came across from purchase agreement to roof leaking after moving in. My overall experience with the company was beyond subpar. Once I signed the contract documents the entire process went downhill. From having several delays relating to everything from permits, building materials, inspections, etc… to the lack of transparency while providing updates. I always had to escalate the situation to find out simple answers. Once I switched lenders the mediocre service I did receive stopped also. I am still trying to have paint issues address that were denoted prior to closing. This was 19+ months of my life I could have done without.

Absurd I've worked with various Construction Managers prior to closing only to be given lip service. Rushed to close and issues never addressed. Now post closing 2 months later still attempting to get items resolved. Truly bad experience all around.

The Worst Home Buying Experience

Other home buyers should be welcomed by a properly trained manager able to assess and answer the multiple issues that normally arises in the process of buying a new property. This manager should shield the buyer from everyone of the Lennar employees that have little to no training on how to deal with Customers. I suggest to start training Mr Jaime from the Closing Coordination.

We paid through the roof with a almost 6% interest rate for screens that are too small, glue on floors, carpet padding missing in some spots, toilet shoots out water when we flush, not all window sills were painted. They used cheap chalk paint to paint. Honestly this house is not worth what we paid. Not to mention I can’t do anything or it will void my warranty so when I call the builders they are never available. Second Lennar home and Incredibly disappointed. I will never have a build with them again.

Unfortunately, I do not have a good review regarding the home construction, which is full of problems and defects-- and the list is long. Some workers simply should not construct anyone's home. Customer service and warranty as well as sales is responsive and professional, so hopefully the defects and problems in construction will be taken care of afterwards. However, a new homeowner should not have to plead and stress about the multitude of problems in the new build in a new community.
