Terrible Home Buying Experience

We selected Lennar because it was building homes in the area we wanted to live. No other builders really had inventory in our our price range and timeline. What a mistake! Worst experience I've ever had. They were late completing the home. The mortgage division is incompetent. They cost us thousands of dollars due to their mistakes.

Briana was awful . She was not responsive to emails or phone calls. She didn’t know the answers to mortgage questions and told me inaccurate information. I had to get her boss involved because it was impossible to deal with her. She wanted me to sign documents that were inaccurate. Up to the day of closing, the down closing costs were still unsure. I literally was so stressed out that I ended up in the hospital the following day for tightening of my chest. I’m young, with no issue of the heart. The Dr said it had to be stress related. The local contractors did a good job, however Lennar as a company cuts corners everywhere and use bad products. They short change at the dumbest opportunities, like a thermostat. All around bad, the best part is that the actual local contractors can come after you buy and then make everything right.

Beware of everything they tell you and be careful what you sign. When you ask for repairs to be made you or told that it us not covered or they sent unqualified repair people that have made the problem worse

Very dissatisfied with the home, paid over $600K and having to do a lot of things to get it to the way we want it, cheap cabinets, plain counter tops, all white, no color, no towel racks or medicine cabinets! A shell of a home!! I wish I would have not purchased this tome

Corner cutting thieves

Run far away. Lennar uses subpar materials and even poorer contractors. So many problems with our new house. And when you call they just lie and deflect. Horrible company. Horrible customer service. The worst experience possible. Buy anything else.

The only good experience about this entire process was Jean and Kim. The lender was a terrible experience. The builder started out nice but after the close didn’t really care anymore. Still waiting on promised items. With me buying the flagship house first one on the corner at the entrance of the neighborhood you would think I would be the last client you would want to treat bad. Your reputation is on the line and word of mouth is everything.

Poor supervision of Sub contractor's workmanship. Low quality hardware. Lack of hardware: No towel bars. No backing for towel bars. Buying a home from Lennar is like buying and RV. Once you buy it your salesperson drops you like a bad habit. Arthur our salesperson won't call or email you back and then when asked about he states he tried but I wouldn't return his call. which is a bold face lie. Absolutely horrible experience all the way from the looking at the home to closing. Zero communication within the company, everything is compartmentalized. Straight up will lie to your face. Use FOMO tactics to get anything done. God forbid you call them out on the workmanship and they have to make repairs. Just easier to pay someone else after the process to get your home to where you want to be.

This has been tiresome and disappointing all the way around from beginning to end. The salesperson misled us on when amenities would be completed, the unit wasn't finished even though we traveled a great distance for our closing & to move in, no one ever reached out to say it was delayed. Even after we moved in the work wasn't completed and was shoddy. In just 2 months we've had to constantly get into touch with them for issues (referred to warranty) and schedule workers to come. Awful experience! At final walkthrough the house had terrible detailing and the customer service agent didn’t resolve. It’s one thing before you close and another after closing! Lennar practically abandons you after closing and you have to resolve through warranty, which is an impersonal online unfriendly and confusing process! I will never again buy from Lennar! You shouldn’t either!

Service Dept Bailout

A 1500-unit development with no onsite sales manager. Sales department was not organized on what is going on with the development. Construction personal are drive by superintendents, that let the subcontractors do what they want without supervision or direction. Lennar's in field creed is to pass all mistakes onto the service department. Building wasn't finished during walk through or closing. Hats off to Maria Vasquaz of the service department to finish off the buildings and do it efficiently and make many homeowners happy.

I never received a New Home Orientation. I never received a pre drywall orientation. The property was poorly constructed! Each day I’m discovering new issues and needed repairs in the house. I was so excited about purchasing a brand new home, which turned out to be a huge disappointment!

Builder steal/removed curtains from this model home. Sent refund check very late, with buyers and realtors total five payee name in a check, how can we cash this check? Took Lennar 2 months to correct purchase number in ALTA, two months add correct name to deed.

The entire process was a joke and can be summed up as simply as saying I received better service at McDonald’s. The only reason I purchased this “home” is the promotional interest rate. I would not recommend Lennar to my worst enemy and will NEVER purchase from them again. Nobody at the company cares about anything other than taking all the money from you they can. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I want to say first how nice and responsive Amy and Stephen were that is who we dealt with most. They represent the company well. The problem I had is how much we were lied to. When we first walked in to view the house it was 281k and we were advertised a 4.25% interest rate. In a short 2 months it went up to 306k and 5.65%. We messed up and agreed. We got ripped off. Never again will I recommend to anyone or myself purchase a lennar product. I’m paying more for home owners insurance because I refuse to give Lennar any more of my hard earned money. Random Fees start to show up at closing

Builders are charging a builders fee at closing which was supposed to be included in the original price . That’s another random $3,000 just inserted in there with no mention of it, very fraudulent. Not happy with Lennar at all.

Bad experience cheaply done work. Lots of problems but builder still wanted to close be fore fixing them . Also after removing there cheap carpet there was lots of dirt paint and construction trash under pad was not even clean up . Then all the closet shelves were not attached to studs fell down with my wife’s clothes on them and she got hurt. Also had to fix a wall outlet box when removing found beer cans and soda pop bottles in the wall with liquid in them and ants were already starting to make a home were there was food and sugar . Bad builders stay away!!!
