Lennar - We love the design of our house.

We love the design of our house. We have been in our house for several month and have noticed a lot of things that were not up to a great standard.

The quality of workmanship exhibited by the "trades" who worked on our home was NOT of a level I expected from a company like Lennar. There did not appear to be adequate/consistent on site supervision/control by the subcontractors utilized in the construction process. While there was a Lennar representative tasked with overseeing the various phases of construction; it appears he had little or no authority to enforce the correction of any discrepancies identified during his site inspections. Our closing was delayed by over a week due to the lack of attention on the part of a sub to a MAJOR ...

Poor quality of materials and workmanship

Quality of materials and workmanship is subpar. There seems little quality control at all stages of the building process. The subcontractors did a poor job and no one called them on it or made them fix it before closing. The closing punch list disappeared after closing day. For example…..Driveway (cement) is two toned because they cracked it and just patched it. Our walkway (cement) is all spotted because they poured it in heavy rain. Now Lennar says it’s not under warranty immediately after closing. We ran two months behind schedule. That is consistent throughout our neighborhood. Other ...

If you want a quick build with tons of issues and half butt work? Go with Lennar! Fit and finish is embarrassingly bad. Having Lennar fix the grout in the master because the workers stained it with moody shoes. At first they weren’t going to fix but thank God for the amazing people in warrenty. That’s about all that’s good with Lennar is their warranty department. Guess they needed a good one with all the issues they have. Walls aren’t straight, base boards are wavy and/or chipped with paint just put over top, paint everywhere on everything. Looks like a Jackson Pollock painting until I had ...

I have been lied to by almost everyone associated with Lennar. Starting with Lennar Mortgage to the new construction manager at the 3 final house walkthroughs. Promises made promises broken. Even the warranty process where cases are closed when parts on order take longer than Lennar likes. And another created when work scheduled and closed again when work not completed. Only to be resubmitted again and again. Who are you fooling? Not me. Lennar get your act together.

Buying a Home SHOULD be a Happy Experience

The overall quality of the workmanship and warranty repairs are a joke. Dealing with the constant repairs and all too familiar "no call no shows" are a full time job. I've lost count of the number of repair tickets I submitted and I've burned through all of my vacation time rescheduling appointments because it is almost guaranteed that there's going to be a no show. I regret this purchase and I will never purchase another Lennar.

Let’s start off with the good. Jennifer in the sales team, was great to work with. Everything else has not been a good experience. The craftsmanship of the house is not of the quality you would expect from Lennar or any home builder. There are so many issues with the home. Once we submit a ticket the team try and take the easy way out of fixing the problem and then it looks worse than it did originally. The team have to fix it numerous times and it fix is not of the quality you would want for a brand new home. Another issue is the lack of responsiveness to getting open tickets done. We have ...

All-in all i think I got good value.. the quality seems decent for the price though its only been a few months I have had no issues. The only upsetting part of the transaction was that it was made clear my closing date was set in stone and could not be changed (i asked to move it up even 3 days and was ignored). On the day of closing it seemed nobody knew i was closing. I reached out to my realtor a few days prior as i'd heard nothing and she didnt respond. The builders were great, the mortgage people were great but the initial sales rep, Andy, was a pain to work with making the overall experience terrible. I had to run down answers to my questions on the status of my house/lot several times and when questioning what the hold up was I was only ever told no updates. For a first time home buying experience it was pretty terrible.

When Lennar contractor pour the foundation for our house they didn’t level the foundation foundation therefore when the flooring was put in there were low and high spots throughout the house. Even though they removed the flooring and removed Natalie’s it again but they could not get it right. Our furniture throughout the house are not level. The light switches in the bathrooms were installed behind the door when you walk in the dark you have to open the door all the way and look for the wall switch.

Overall, construction choices feel slapped together with no fore-thought on the completed project. Lower quality trim shows areas that should have been sanded smooth prior to painting. Have had an issue in my yard since day one, and have been tossed between HOA and Lennar for resolution. I had high hopes for this next chapter in my life.

Signed on the dotted line, lined up our own mortgage lender and attorney...poof...there went the customer service for Lennar's Sales Team member, Lori. No longer answered emails, didn't tell us how to get vital information regarding our home (mailbox keys, HOA info/login, etc). As soon as you use anyone but their title, mortgage or lawyers, you're dead to them & good luck. Make sure you do an independent inspection of your home prior to move in. Lennar will tell you they have an "independent" inspection but don't believe them. We found 3 code violations and multiple issues with our house, ...

My loan officer was great, he was their every step of the way. After the sale John reached out and checked on me. Jessy was good during the walk thru but became unresponsive after the sale was final. I did not like the fact that the house I had a contract on was still been used for site tours. No walkway in the front of the house, you must walk in the grass rain or shine to get to your front door No gutters on the house bummer. Do not use Lennar mortgage. Maybe it was just my loan officer but phone calls weren’t returned. Emails not answered and I was told I was getting money back at closing. Then I wasn’t. Then I was. I was told to put 10% down but it turned out it should only have been 5%. Then I was told PMI had to have insurance on it in order to get it cancelled if I paid it off early. Then I was charged $7000 for it. Go to any other lender. Not lennar lending.

  • Michael S.

The Good: Lennar is a quick builder. The Bad: The home quality is not the best. There are some things done great, like the master bath and the gourmet kitchen. However a gourmet kitchen consist of a gas range top and a stainless exhaust hold. And the gas top was left unmounted and slid around the first time we cooked on it. Had to have that fixed properly. Understand these are spec homes with a 40 day start to finish turnaround. As you can imagine, this is a quantity over quality home build. Make sure you order your own home inspection prior to your first walkthrough ...

Seems like sales was not interested in our needs; just getting homes off the books. If we were told that they were having a sales event in July, we would have waited. We wanted the Waverly & got the largest home we could afford, the Osprey. We didn't know some of the larger homes may have a bonus room upstairs; didn't know that the there were more homes available other than the models. Would have liked to have brought our pool table, but sold because no room in Osprey.
