Love the Neighborhood, Disappointed by the Builder

I just closed on my 8th home, and unfortunately, this was the most unprofessional and frustrating experience of them all. While I am thrilled to be in Carnes Crossroads, the process with Lennar was a major letdown. Key Issues: Poor Construction Management: My construction manager was so sloppy that I eventually gave up on a repair request and fixed it myself before closing. Subcontractor Negligence: Contractors left permanent stains on the garage floor, deck, and concrete outdoor areas that cannot be removed. After visiting many homes for sale our last visit was to a Lennar home. The Lennar home had everything that we were searching for in a home. The lending process was a bit stressful but the entire Lennar team were both professional and very nice. Any questions were answered in a timely manner. The home inspection went well and the minor things that were noted were immediately addressed. We have been in our new home for just a few weeks and we just love everything about our home. I have rented 4 homes and purchased 4 homes prior and this is by far my favorite.

I have had a very difficult time me window treatments the windows are all out of square. I had to return $5000. dollars worth of custom cut window treatments to Lowe’s due to the windows being out of square, and yes Lowe’s did do the measurements for the blinds. I am meeting with 2 more blind businesses this week, hopefully they can get the blinds made and installed. The back porch ceiling shakes so badly in the wind it sounds like it going to tear away and the outside vent on the stove hood flaps so loud in the wind. This was our first home in USA and it was a very easy process with Lennar sales team. Very helpful and professional service. Not much happy about the construction team as we had to go back to them several times with issues and took longer to respond.

Issue elevated regarding outside AC unit fully block access to the side of the house and not matching blue prints which shows AC in the back of the house. Issue was not resolved and representatives seem to not care about me being unable to bring lawnmower or similar equipment to maintain the side yard.

When Lennar contractor pour the foundation for our house they didn’t level the foundation foundation therefore when the flooring was put in there were low and high spots throughout the house. Even though they removed the flooring and removed Natalie’s it again but they could not get it right. Our furniture throughout the house are not level. The light switches in the bathrooms were installed behind the door when you walk in the dark you have to open the door all the way and look for the wall switch.

I feel it is too soon to rate the house. There has been a lot of issues with Lennar homes so we will see. I have had 2 issues so far and they did get resolved quickly. I love the area we are in and the house we chose. The approval process was a hassle. But Kimberly B in SC was amazing.

I have been lied to by almost everyone associated with Lennar. Starting with Lennar Mortgage to the new construction manager at the 3 final house walkthroughs. Promises made promises broken. Even the warranty process where cases are closed when parts on order take longer than Lennar likes. And another created when work scheduled and closed again when work not completed. Only to be resubmitted again and again. Who are you fooling? Not me. Lennar get your act together.

Our new home like many has a few things that need attention, it's taken a month to get one repaired, while another one we're probably going to be waiting for 2 weeks for the part and being the holidays, be next month before it's repaired. The overall expectations of the house has been met, there are some areas that would have been better like the laundry room being a foot wider would have made a big difference. Overall, construction choices feel slapped together with no fore-thought on the completed project. Lower quality trim shows areas that should have been sanded smooth prior to painting. Have had an issue in my yard since day one, and have been tossed between HOA and Lennar for resolution. I had high hopes for this next chapter in my life.

The house was not completed on the date it was first offered. Other houses next to us were started after ours and completed before ours while ours stood vacant without any workers for days. The quality of numerous items is subpar. The paint is very low quality and the attention to detail is very low. Not the quality of a professional painter. We moved in only to find the plumbing blocked up by the cleaning crews cloths. Communication process was very poor and inconsistent( another family member bought at same time we did) construction managers were not identified to us until very end and were just in a hurry to get through the process. Yard landscaping was very poor as chunks of rocks and clay were hidden under pine straw. Many plantings were in such poor shape that they died within 30 days of closing.Found broken sprinkler heads and water pressure for system is poor.

Refusal to Fix Obvious Defect

We love our home and community! The problem we have is that there was an extremely obvious defect in the installation of our Dormer windows and we have been battling for 3 days with Lennar to simply fix it. We have submitted the obvious cracked window trims and being told that is normal. We have inspected every other house in our section and NONE of the other houses have the issue. Very frustrating being blatantly lied to in order to just try and get us to accept crappy workmanship.

Holly was amazing and was very responsive and helpful at every question or issue that arised. Carter was helpful with anything we needed. The large issue has been the lawyer and analyst they missed a few things and rushed through the paperwork missing multiple things and causing issues which to this day have still not been figured out. Tom and Diane were all over the place and contradicting themselves and each other through the whole process. Major construction issue brought to us days before settlement was scheduled.They didn’t run electric from the house to the street! AC hadn’t been installed, no one worked on all the unfinished work on the inside for quite some time. All painting and finish work is absolutely awful.
