Not the best experience with Lennar, or Lee our rep

  • Casey J.

  • McKinney, TX

The start of our home buying process began smoothly, with a virtual tour and quickly finding a floor plan that was available and fit our timeline. Everything after that went downhill. We had some trouble communicating the specifics of our loan information with our MLO, primarily the fact we wanted the house in both our names, and some other key details around the cash to close which were not addressed until the last week before the holidays. Our sales rep, Lee, was hard to get a response out of for a while until our closing. We closed the day that the snow storm hit McKinney and no one ...

The sales person was not helpful at all, most of the time she doesn't answer back or for the few times she did she was giving wrong information, my new neighbor had the same issue as well. Otherwise some of the floors in the house are not well leveled and also I fund some studs and trush buried under the sod and makes me question the quality of work and not trust your company. One good thing, the QA person who was in the final walk-through inspection was knowledgeable and had a good attitude.

Buying a home is one of the largest purchase an average person makes in their lives. Unfortunatley for me, my experience with the sales agent I was assigned was not positive. I found the sales agent misleading at times, very pushy. Home buyers concierge's primary job is to communicate, update the customer, which she hardly did. had a hard time getting a response from her. Mortgage department cant give you a final number until the day of closing which I found surprising. Workmanship and quality is supbar. I already have cracks on the trim and corner of the wall. I picked a date suggested ...

I was looking to purchase a home early this year. I went to another Lennar community where an agent named Blanca helped me. After deciding that community was not a fit for me, I decided to look at other properties. After letting her know my budget and also timeframe, she kept pushing for an earlier date, to which I didn’t feel comfortable. I decided she was not a fit, because I wanted someone who understood my timeframe and knew I wasn’t interested in spending thousands of dollars more since I was still leasing an apartment. After finding Falcon, I went for a house there. The process was ...

We had high hopes for building with Lennar but they failed in many areas. Communication was extremely lacking, workmanship was subpar, and the Title company was less than professional. I had previously heard differently from others, but based upon my experience, I cannot imagine referring friends to Lennar.

After purchasing a home, it has ALWAYS been courteous of the sales/realtor to leave a gift basket especially since we are moving from out of state. We didn’t even receive a folder of suggested services. Our pipe burst within the first week we moved in and flooded the laundry and bedroom to where the carpet had to be replaced. That got fixed with 3 weeks of being inconvenienced. The sewer manhole is bubbling with sewage to the point where huge trucks are emptying it on a daily basis. We are inconvenienced AGAIN. There is a LACK of Professionalism and Communication. I ...

So there’s a reason all the inspectors have a running joke about Lennar homes- because the blue tape walkthroughs are a joke. An entire cabinet in my kitchen is currently cracked completely in half. They installed it that way! The paint on my walls chips off if a fly lands on it. The workers are loud, messy, and lazy. There’s no standards on who they will hire as long as they do it fast, Lennar doesn’t care. My lawn is full of sunflowers from workers spitting seeds everywhere and construction trash is constantly in my yard. The “landscaping” is awful- the 3 bushes they planted are completely ...

My experience was less than average. The process is complex with limited support from the staff. It is all about closing the deal vs. customer service. I was not impressed by what I got and this was my first experience with Lennar. I will likely be NOT inclined to do business with them in the future.

Constant Lies and Poor Work

Buying this house was a huge pain. The builder routinely tried to lie to me about things and used dirty tricks to try and rush me through the process. I had to fight very hard with them to resolve problems that should have 100% been their responsibility. I am still struggling with the builder to get them to repair things that they screwed up. Aside from them rushing me through getting my new home inspection, they also moved up my closing date by a month without proper notice. I was originally going to close on 03/28 (which was signed the first week of February) per the contract but had ...

Going through the loan application process was horrible. Very unfriendly to people without a realtor. Rude and not helpful or responsive to questions. Given no information on this community on how to handle utilities, HOA etc. Person doing the house walkthrough gave misinformation multiple times on how to do things. I was told by two different people that they get me a list of paint used on home, nothing. Overall it was not a good experience.

The underwriting process was a complete mess. My close date had to be moved because of this. The underwriter and processor were so difficult to work with, I got approved a day before closing. The processor would not answer calls or emails and would keep requesting for the same document even though it had been uploaded multiple times. She would not call to clarify or nothing. After our 3rd party inspection the construction super assured us all of the items would be addressed by closing inspection. Half were not. It took weeks for him to address the deficiencies after closing. I had to contact him multiple times to have the repairs addressed. One item is a tilted roof vent. The construction inspector contacted the roofing company and they said, "It is good enough." I expected Lennar to hold their contractors responsible for quality workmanship and fight for the home buyer. They did not. Very poor craftsmanship.A few things already broke and we've only been in a little over a month. They stated that certain repairs had been done when they didn't. Poor materials used. Very poor roof craftsmanship. At closing they only gave us an envelope with a few papers instead of a full packet with copies of everything. 2 months in and we still don't know how to pay our HOA. No one ever informed us. Their new home orientation process is horrible. They don't do blue tape, instead they have to take pictures of everything which takes forever. Overall just not a pleasant experience.

The home was dirty when I moved in. It took me forever to unpack because I had to clean before I started unpacking and clean as I went along. The baseboards were filthy. The paint job was really sloppy. I’m still cleaning up paint spills and splatters off the vinyl plank flooring. Also having to touch up paint on the walls and baseboards. Communication skills were poor not only with customers, but amongst yourselves.
