Disappointing Homebuying Experience – I Would Not Purchase Again

  • April O.

My experience purchasing a Lennar home was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. Buying a new construction home should be an exciting experience, but unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. At closing, my home was dirty and had not been properly cleaned or prepared for move-in. There were also several items missing or incomplete that should have been addressed before I ever received the keys. Instead of being able to enjoy my new home, I found myself repeatedly reaching out to the builder to get things completed that should have been taken care of prior to ...

Not customer focused. Craftsmanship of the home does not meet Lennar standards I'm accustomed to (cheap appliances , no door bell, bathroom basics, cheap paint) any desired upgrades void warranty unless Lennar contractors are utilized. Distasteful.

The realty team was abysmal, the builder representative was cavalier and uncaring, the master builder was good, the only realtor worth anything was my outside agent and *****. Absolutely godawful experience all the way down to the mobile notary liaison. She was late to one meeting by an hour and a half and the other she was too early to my work. Lennar completely ruined our first homebuying experience.

Bad Lennar experience

Once I paid my earnest money communication was almost none. No one bothered to check how the home was moving along in the construction. My inspector went three times to make sure the items in my home that needed to be fixed had been fixed, all the times my inspector went nothing was done, even after giving the sales agent and construction manager ame time to fix the issues. The first time the inspector went to the home none of the appliances were in the home.

Lennar responded:
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Moving forward, we hope to provide a more positive homeowner experience. Sincerely, Lennar Corporate Customer Care

Buying my home was such an amazing experience, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. From the very beginning, I felt supported and cared for every step of the way. What could have been a stressful process was made so much easier.

Every question I had was answered quickly, and I always felt like my best interests came first. I never felt rushed or pressured, and it was clear that everyone genuinely wanted to help me find the right home. Their professionalism, honesty, and kindness gave me confidence throughout the entire process.

The walkthrough. I had to do it three times with the tape. And then no one showed up to actually follow up on the many items that still had orange tape on it when we moved in. Sean continuously said he was coming. Then, he said he would just do it himself. And to date, it's still not taking care of. Almost all of the doorknobs are coming off. The man in the office.I don't know what his name is.He's completely rude and just not helpful.Whatsoever EVERY time I come into the office

Lack of good communication. Not completed things from 1st walkthrough. Twisted my ankle from holes in the yard. Too many gaps between grass squares. Loan officer didn't return calls or answer questions. Lagoon is advertised like it's for residents only

Loan officer didn't return calls from Lennar mortgage. Most of my questions were never answered. When closed I wasn't given correct information about utilities. Not given information to get passes for the lagoon. Closing date was changed several times but we were never told it was not a set date. We weren't give. The information on paint color in my home. We spent hours at closing. We left around 10pm. If you set appointments, keep them. Don't over schedule. Also, we were being asked for more documentation while we were waiting at Lennar Title. Information about the total understanding of how the warranties work, what to do in case of an emergency, and identifying issues that can arise within the first 30 days should have been made known. My HVAC (thermostat for the AC isn't working, and when I reach out to the emergency service listed, they haven't called me back. It's been 3 days without AC).
