Too many cooks in the kitchen

All staff from various departments were friendly but there were so many involved that no one seemed to know what the other departments were doing. All staff were responsive wmexcept for one concierge Hanah who often did not respond to requests. I joked with the manager that Lennar should be paying me a salary as I had to do so much work in coordinating staff between departments. It wasn’t at all seamless or efficient

I purchased a home Lennar. They did not pressure wash my driveway. They didn’t clean my yard after I purchased it. I had to ask them twice. The “free grass” I got is actually making me pay extra to get treated and my landscaper just told me I need to get all new grass. The HOA is asking me to get my yard treated

My Lennar experience

Sales in my opinion very poor. Was handed a list of homes and a house key and told go check them out and let me know if you want one. Construction purchased a finished inventory home. I walked the home 2weeks prior to my official walk thru and made a list of punch items. I gave this list to sales requesting it to be given to the construction team. The day of the walk thru none of the items had been addressed. Closing had to be moved 3 or 4 times. Had to reschedule movers twice, and they simply just didn't care. I was really hoping for my first home buying experience not to feel like I ...

After many emails from “concierges”, never laying eyes on any that I was passed around to, final walk through was done by Rebecca. She was nice enough but it was obvious she did this day in, day out, so was very pushy about getting done. All issues found were corrected on the spot! This is my first experience with Lennar, but not my first home buying experience. I felt like I was being herded through the process, this lady did not really care if I was happy or not. Through the entire process, first look to deciding to buy, then actually getting it purchased I was given incorrect ...

There was lot of unknowns after and before the Closing Process and there was no follow thru on what was discussed and agreed to during the walkthru and during the Sales Process.

We got a great price we love the location and the neighborhood. However the sales process had plenty of errors. The loan process had a lack of communication. Construction was clearly rushed and builder used the cheapest materials possible.

The builders of our home didn’t really take pride in their work. Door latches do not engage properly, outside siding nails created problems both for cable installation, and with water heater pipes. Lennar is short staffed so getting issues fixed or repaired before closing was problematic

Happy with the affordability, we love our new home. As a homebuyer the process was good, we were able to complete all of our tasks with guidance from the Lennar team. We did have to advocate for our home in regard to "quick workmanship" and materials being overlooked. Construction materials were left in the plumbing, water heating, and cooling nozles were painted over, the floors have lifted/chipped pieces, with smudged with adhesive from installation, plumbing, and cabinet materials were missing, and the exterior of the house has built-up mortar on the concrete, and much of the caulking and ...

During the process of purchasing my first home, it all started off really well. Once it started getting closer to the final close out date, I began having issues with the construction team. The first instance that occurred was me finding a crack pipe in the guest bathroom. Then there was a lot of rescheduling due to them leaving the house dirty and muddy. They also snapped my AT&T Fiber Cable when they were laying dirt for sod and failed to take accountability for it. So many instances that piled up on one another, but at least the finance team made up for the inconvenience of the ...

Most of the staff with Lennar is great, however communication skills on the other hand, not so good. I understand things happen, but the lack of communication was absurd. Our home was never cleaned before moving in either. Moving into a dirty home, with an infant, trying to unpack was chaotic. The builder did send the cleaners over about a week later, however when they cleaned they left tiny pieces of metal (from their scrubbers) all over my floor. Blue tape was still left in some places as well. All in all my family and I were just expecting a different outcome. The staff was friendly and ...

Lennar could become that next level company if they were "proactive" in their communication. It always seems like internal communication is poor at best so many more steps are needed to get something done than needed! Overall, Lennar builds a pretty good home but they get defensive when something needs to be corrected. It all comes down to being open and transparent, communication!!

My home was delivered to me 5/almost 6 months late based on the initial expected completion date. Original completion date was mid May and the home actually was completed at the end of October. This has caused several issues for myself, I had to bring in my own cleaning services because paint marks were left on the floors and cabinets throughout the house. When completion dates would get changed no one would notify me and when I would ask why it is getting delayed, I wouldn't get answers for days at a time.

There are two out maybe six people I dealt with that knew what was going on. The title people were awful to deal with. The house is great, but can tell it is a track home with the cheaper materials used. A lot of stuff was scratched, broke, not finished when e arrived. Sloppy

My initial experience was positive. Over time I began to see many issues, there was a lack of communication between Lennar personnel and the home finance company, as well as a lack of communication between lennar employees which caused unnecessary headaches. When we finally did get into the home, the final cleaning hadn't been done, the paint job was amateur: overspray over the side of the house and external paint over sprayed into the home as well. After the sod was put in, the yard was very uneven, there were several voids where no sod was put in and I'm still trying to patch my lawn up, ...

My wife and I were looking for a quick move in the North East area and found an inventory home that met mostly all of our needs. In general, we are pleased with the home - there are a few areas of the home that look like they were an after thought in terms of quality of workmanship. The previous home we owned was a Ryland, and we never had issues with workmanship/cosmetic fixes. We've only been in our new home a few months and they are plenty workmanship issues that we are not happy with. For the price we paid, there shouldn't be as many small issues as we have been finding (sloppy Job with ...

Nice people, poor contractors

The team for Lennar are awesome, but the quality, design, and contractors used are lacking. Contractors are sloppy and leaves trash throughout site and neighborhood, design was not up to my expectations, plenty of room but lacked drawers in bathroom and linen closet.
Lennar responded:

You definitely get what you pay for. After having several professionals come out to look at certain things, I get the same outcome. Lennar uses the cheapest materials and will do whatever to save money on their end. A bit disappointed after only living here for less than three months. There’s paint on the floors throughout the house and even on the carpet in the bedrooms. The glue that was used for the flooring is smeared throughout the hallways and it looks terrible. Still trying to find something to remove that without ruining the floors. I have found a couple of blue tape spots that were ...

Not sure if I’ll buy another Lennar home

I wasn’t told that only primer was painted on the walls therefore I would need to paint the whole inside of the house. The house didn’t come with towel racks in the bathroom. The house floors were not clean. I had questions during closing but couldn’t ask any because they made me do my closing online and by law the lady couldn’t answer any questions. They put a mandatory tree in the backyard which only goes out 10ft. If this tree grows big the roots are going to mess up the foundation. Also, the grass they put down was already dead leaving several people with brown grass.

Don’t finish lawn…?

I’d paid 240,000 dollars for a home id expect a lawn to be finished. But no, Lennar only does half the lawn. It’s a bit ridiculous to be honest. On top of that the grass installed was installed dead. Nicks, dents and holes throughout the house.(partially on me though for not hiring my own inspector) Electrical issues from the jump. If you go with Lennar make sure your around for the whole project or just avoid it. The HOA is nice. The locations nice. Lennar…Ehh.

At the start of my homebuying experience, I worked with sales rep Angel, who was terrific. He was very knowledgeable, and if he did not know the answer, he got me the answer. Angel showed me houses in four different cities around San Antonio. He never made me feel like a hassle and made it a point to help me when coming into town, as he knew I was purchasing out-of-state. When I decided to move forward with a house in Bulverde, I was told there were no sales incentives on the house because it was not included in the year-end sales event as it would not be closing by the end of the year. I ...

Loan officer Miranda was amazing. Was told corrections were being made at final walkthrough that weren’t when we moved in. Took 2 days to get access to a home we owned without explanation. After move in warranty response is unreliable including having contractor show up at 5 pm after being home all day to say he can’t do the work. No follow up after. Loan officers are super helpful and answer all emails and questions. The home is good value for price, but some parts of the process are highly lacking in customer service.

Great Builders and Sales Representatives, But Disappointing Experience with the Loan Officer
- Leiloni J.

Karina, my sales representative, did an excellent job showing me homes that matched my preferences. Brandon, one of the builders, provided a thorough explanation of everything I’d need to properly care for my home. During my home orientation, Daniel, another builder, addressed issues promptly and did a fantastic job resolving them. Unfortunately, my experience with Michael, the loan officer, was disappointing. He was dishonest during the process, and when I requested to speak with a supervisor about the matter after I verified his credentials, I saw he redirected me to one of his ...
