Shotty workmenship

The quality of the work is subpar at best. Things not attached in the kitchen cabinet under the sink. I had water come in the window during a storm due to chunks of mortar in the bottom track keeping the window from closing properly and the damage is still not repaired. They painted semi gloss over Matt paint or vise versa. Nails not hammered all the way in on siding, one sticking out all the way not holding the siding at all. The weather stripping on the back door was all messed up. The back door wouldn’t shut properly. A hole behind the master bath toilet and some kind of blue strapping ...

We still have an ongoing issue with plumbing and they are not addressing the issue, they are slow to fix issues and don’t do a quality job when fixing things. Would not recommend. I can’t wait to move already.

A Stressful and Unorganized Home-Buying Experience

  • Marti M.

  • San Antonio, TX

My experience with Lennar was disappointing. Throughout the home-buying process, I often found myself speaking with multiple people and was left confused about timelines, important dates, and next steps. Communication felt fragmented, and I did not feel adequately guided through what should have been an exciting milestone. I found the home on my own and initiated the inquiry myself, yet I never had the opportunity to walk the home with my sales representative. I also had concerns about unfinished work on the home and was hoping for more proactive communication and solutions. Instead, I felt ...

My Experience with Lennar

I had a good experience when it came to getting my home. I did have a few times that all was quiet and I was confused where the process was at. At the end my loan officers Jennifer and Susan gave me a sense of ease. They gave me feedback on a regular basis. Overall, I will have to say Lennar has a great fast process to purchase a home. I honest love my new home.

Failure to Address Issues Raised

Do not buy from Lennar. If there is an issue with your home that is covered by the warranty, or they said would be fixed before closing, they do not do the repair. They are shady and unscrupulous. Dig into Lennar before buying.

Lennar responded:
Thank you Pamela, for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. If you would like to share more details, please email CorporateCustomerCare@Lennar.com.

Lennar Sales Reps and Construction managers lie

I would not trust anything they say. They promise things in a home and then when it is built those promises were “oopsies” or “I stuck my foot in my mouth”. If you purchase a Lennar home I highly recommend getting a third party inspection. There are gas leaks in a lot of homes in the neighborhood and Lennar refuses to take accountability. My oven still wreaks of gas after a while of being here and having multiple people come and “fix” the problem. Customer service is non existent. Area managers and sales will refuse to speak with you once you bring up an issue. My mistake was signing for ...

The process of buying our home was relativity quick and easy. The house is overall a good price, but definitely some things that were cheaply done/ built. As well as things that we asked to fix during our final walk through were not fixed fully. You can just tell it was done quickly, but that’s kind of what you expect in a new build. Overall, a positive experience.

Decent Price but Updates Needed

There is a lack of communication between the numerous different people you have to deal with when buying a home. They all have different assignments but it’s like they don’t communicate between each other. Some do but some don’t. You have to abide by there schedule and process when purchasing but then repairs and cleaning weren’t done by the time we closed. Some cleaning still never got done so we had to do that ourselves. The paint they use is so cheap that when you bump into a wall with a cardboard box it chips or scuffs and the whole interior of the house is covered in this paint. It’s ...

Good Purchase Experience, But Unresolved Warranty Issues

  • Jorge Americo L.
  • Verified HomeBuyer
  • April 30, 2026
  • Elmendorf, TX

Overall, the homebuying process went smoothly, and I appreciate the professionalism of the sales team. However, my experience with post-sale warranty support has been disappointing. A construction-related issue was identified at the rear door, where an improperly installed threshold is allowing water and dirt to enter the home. The property has not yet been occupied, and the condition of the flooring is entirely due to this defect. At this time, the main issue—the door itself—has not been repaired, and no work has been completed. The cleaning concern is secondary, as it cannot be ...

My experience with Lennar wasn’t the best. The buying process was very stressful and underwriting was the worst. I have bought other homes from builders in the past and the process was smooth. But Lennar was ridiculous requesting the same documents over and over again. To me it was lazy on their part. Then we move into our new home you would think that they would have cleaned it for the new home owner. Absolutely not paint drops on the floor, sticky substance on floors that you have to get down and scrub by hand. Very frustrating you buy a new home and you walk into a home that is dirty

Buyer Beware! Serious Quality Failures, Data Privacy Concerns, and Poor Workmanship

Major concern during closing: * We were sent documents containing another buyer’s personal information multiple times * Almost every email we sent to the team went unanswered * We only received a response after threatening to report it, which we ultimately did Communication failures and disorganization: * The assigned concierge repeatedly said she was the “go-to” contact, but was unresponsive for weeks at a time and rarely replied to emails * We had to track down answers ourselves by contacting multiple people * Key personnel changed during and after the process, which created ...

Strong Sales Experience, But Serious Concerns With Oversight and Warranty

  • Katherine D.

We recently moved into our new home in Waterwheel–Coastline/Hilltop in San Antonio. The sales and closing process was generally organized, and communication during that phase was clear and supportive. However, there were serious issues that should not be overlooked. While we were still under contract, there was an attempt to release or offer the property to another buyer. This is not a minor misstep—it reflects a significant breakdown in internal coordination and created unnecessary stress during an already critical process. Post-closing, my experience with the warranty team has ...
