Customer Reviews

Very surreal experience

The overall experience was on par with most mid-range builders. The one strange item and I wasn't told about this until we were getting ready to move in. Was that the window screens were not included. For an entire house of half screens is less than $300. It's very strange for a home that's almost $300,000 to not include the screens.

Honestly it was one of the most horrible experiences ever done. The buying process was very unprofessional since they keep on changing the closing day and while me and my family already left the place we used to live at. I’m a disabled Veteran so I thought I will be a little easier for me to move into my new house but this was just a nightmare. The house was not even clean, some things were damaged and the response from the inspector is just not working for me so I ended up doing the cleaning and fixing with my wife for over two weeks. I wouldn’t recommend Lennar to any of my fellow Veterans ...

Dealing with loan officer and title were such a pain. Poor performance, wanted evidence for everything just in case it won’t qualify and at the end it was all unnecessary paperwork. My home was finished and still needed to get clear. On this crazy sellers market. Cheap materials, poor quality of craftsmanship. Better off to go with a better builder. Lesson learned.

Lennar - Make sure you ask what color your house is going to be.

Make sure you ask what color your house is going to be. Didn't know I needed to ask what the color of my house was going to be painted, my bad for assuming they painted houses in neutral colors, which are more versatile. I wasn't shown what the color scheme was going to be so you don't really have any options to choose, it seemed it was either you buy it or someone else will. The construction manager is very responsive and hardworking, kudos to him

Workmanship of the home could have been much better not so impress on how it was put together. Found to many defects backyard could have been leveled much better etc. Eagle Mortage office set me up for failure, informing and was written on my contract that HOA was paid monthly then I get a bill from spectrum stating I had a balance and a late payment fee added to my bill of $40. Spectrum has informed me HOA is paid annually. This could have been avoided if I was given proper instructions. Eaglemortage should be liable for the late fee, since I was not at fault. Would not purchase from Lennar again

I would avoid Lennar knowing what I know now about the company and quality of their homes. They have admitted to utilizing a fast pace low quality model that I feel lends itself to poor craftsmanship, unaccountability, and a propensity to only be concerned with the bottom line. Simply put, they just don't make quality houses like they use to. When issues came up, I was given the cold shoulder for weeks and told that the warranty doesn't cover the issue that I was concerned about. It did not seem like they were going to provide an amicable solution until I started CCing people on emails ...

I’ve been watching the market for years. My family left me with pets, so I couldn’t choose an apartment. I had to move in the next two months. I looked at preowned homes, but didn’t find anything that didn’t need a tremendous amount of fixing. So buying a new house seemed like a great idea. The rep at the Neighborhood was great. He listened to what I liked and he knew the products very well. He was patient and even allowed me to visit a second time. he chose the right house for me. Going through the loan process was a mess. I was told only to speak to two people. End up getting contacted by ...

The home itself, as of today, is a solid house. Do the cabinet doors sit at slightly different heights? Yes. Are some of the angles a little off? Sure. But totally within the price expectations. However, the communication and process was terrible. Delays, failure to communicate said delays until 3 days before closing, no one seems to have answers and half the people I talked to took a while to get back to me, if at all. Glib company line apologies didn't do much to improve it. Worth it? Because i'm here already, absolutely. Would I do this again? No thanks.

Overall Disappointed — A Frustrating Finish to an Exciting Start

The beginning of my homebuying experience was exciting and smooth — choosing the house and putting the money down was easy. However, once it came time to close, things took a frustrating turn. Communication from the closing department became nearly nonexistent, making what should have been a celebratory time stressful and uncertain. After receiving my keys, I was told the home had gone through its "final clean," but unfortunately, it had not. I was never informed that the grass would only be laid out 15 feet from the house, and no explanation or heads-up was given. Even more frustrating, ...

The entire experience was unpleasant. We have also had several big water leak problems. The warranty may cover the problems but does not cover lost wages or other expenses due to the issues. Highly recommend better quality control. They build them so fast that they miss a lot of things.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Mitchell, We’re truly sorry to hear that your overall experience has been an unpleasant one. That’s far from the standard we aim to uphold, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations. Lennar collects a vast volume of totally confidential information, much more than is necessary for me to be proven as a responsible buyer and payer. I do not believe this information is stored in a suitably secure manner. I worry about my identity being stolen by others or shared with others I do not want it shared with by Lennar. We sign waaaaay too many documents giving Lennar the right to own our lives. I do not trust Lennar!!!!!! Most of the staff we dealt with are great.

I was verbally promised backyard grass and 3 trees upon moving in to my new Lennar build (as incentive). It’s been 4 weeks since move in and I have 2 trees and no grass in the backyard. The home buying experience was not pleasant. Our salesman was good, but when we had to deal with construction, things took a turn for the worse. This isn’t our first home, so we knew the process. When we pointed out flaws or issues, we were told, “this isn’t a custom home.” I wasn’t asking for one, but I was asking for quality work to be done. It doesn’t need to be a custom home for the workmanship to be up to par. The first woman that was assigned to us for quality control check was extremely unprofessional. Firstly I'd like to say that the attention to problems is not addressed . I was told that an issue was resolved but in fact it was not. Still working through it. Day after close found the furnace did not work. Had to submit a warranty claim on day 1. Sod issue. Took more than a month after close to get it placed. Then found that is was all dead and brown. Having to follow up with that now. Found after closing that the stove top burner plates are gone. Have to work that issue. Why? Not a happy camper with the builder at this point!!!

We purchased our home for $152,000, and while we were excited about the process, the lending experience was a nightmare. Despite being extremely responsive, providing all requested paperwork within 30 minutes, we were repeatedly asked for the same documents over and over. They even required us to write unnecessary explanations for paperwork they already had, making the process frustrating and redundant. As for the home itself, the quality is hit or miss.
