The Lennar Experience

The Lennar experience can be broken into a couple categories: buying and construction. The buying experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Our home delivery was delayed by 6 months, and the permit process was out of Lennar’s control, but the communication breakdown was unprofessional. We changed our point of contact four times, and were left in the dark unless we reached out for updates. We could anticipate that the home-building process may get pushed to the right, but the lack of communication was downright awful. The lack of communication and misguidings by Lennar was ...

Lack of quality in workmanship (paint, alignment, quality finishes, etc)

It doesn't appear that the construction team did a quality check/inspection on all the sub-contractor work. Since we moved in this past January, we have had several visits from contractors to repair/finish work that should've been completed before closing. Cracks in windows, unfinished paint jobs, drywall issues. It is very noticeable to see the poor workmanship and lack of quality in how the work was supervised. We were not expecting to have all these issues within the first three months of living in a brand new home.

Lennar responded:
Hi Alan, thank you for sharing this review. We apologize for the frustrations you have expressed regarding the quality of workmanship in your home. Additionally, we are sorry to hear about the time it has taken to get work completed. How condescending and demeaning the loan process was. How I thought I would be getting certain things in my home and didn’t. The poor craftsmanship and cheap materials from which the homes are built. The lack of security on the construction site during construction and after.

I the space and the layout of the house. I hate the quality of the workmanship, from the paint work to the interior door (all of them rattle), and the loose downspouts that drive me crazy at night time, the creaking floor and falling recess lights those are few examples of the list of disappointment. We did have a good experience with our sells person.

Sub-par engineering, construction supervision and quality of workmanship. Lack of diligent workmanship is a reflection of the builder's rush to complete home construction without paying attention to detail and pride in work quality. Customer service is wanting and repeated subcontractor visits are required to rectify mistakes/blunders.

It is annoying that the board between the bedroom and the bathrooms has a high metal piece as the divider and allows for people to stub their toes and even though the inspector stated that needed to be fixed the builder brushed it off and stated thats how lennar has us do it. Even though the title should be even with that piece. Also the doors are all to low to the ground so you can't even have rugs in your bathrooms. The paint that is used seems cheap and you can see every fingerprint on the walls. Closing was the worst experience and such a hassle. Closing was too far away and not ...

In the 5 short months that I have lived in my home I have had to have several contractors back out to fix things that I feel you should not have to fix in less than 5 months. My hardwood floors have a gab that can easily be seen and collects crumbs and other debris that im told is an acceptable gab but looks horrible. And now I have a second location just not as bad as the first. I have an doorway that meets with the ceramic tile that hurts your feet if you step on it that does not get a transition plate due to the house not being DESIGNED with one. Getting the contractors back out to fix ...

1. Seller did not allow me to buy a home without signing Solar roof agreement. I was left with only two options, buy or sign for 20/20 plan. 20/20 plan is a hoax. ”First 20” indicates that it is a 20 year agreement. “Second 20” indicates 20% reduction in price per unit solar energy consumed from roof. In fact, instead of getting benefit, I am paying ~30% more per unit as compared to local grid. Furthermore, Solar billing is weird. They do not provide details of solar energy consumed but they charge for consumption. In other words, I am paying twice on solar energy I consumed (to local grid ...

Disappointing build quality

I’ve been terribly disappointed in the build quality of this house overall. The whole house feels rushed. The garage was left in terrible shape. The drywall tape isn’t fully secured to the wall. They used mud to cover big gaps around light fixtures, windows, and calk around door panels. The furnace was labeled incorrectly in the fuse panel, which was discovered because it kept blowing the fuse. When the electrician came to fix it he looked at the furnace and found it was wired incorrectly. Wires weren’t tightened down causing the power to arc, and trip the fuse. There is a full size wood nail ...

There us no consistency within the Lennar teams which takes away from the process. The follow-up is poor, the workmanship is sloppy and everyone blames the last person when there are mistakes. During the walkthrough, I pointed out areas of concern that were not addressed when I moved in. The house was spot cleaned, ie. Dirty windows, paint on the floors and windows, paint on the railings and carpet, debris from the sanding left along the trim of the walls, and on the flooring. While the carp we ts were vacuumed and the house smelled fresh, it was not cleaned properly. Lennar has great potential however unfortunately my experience has been subpar and least satisfactory. The workmanship is not great and customer service needs a ton of work. As a millennial I can appreciate Lennar moving towards a “one stop shop” approach, as that did make things simpler in the home buying process. However, there a still lot of areas that need work for a streamlined process to succeed and Lennar does not have that. For that reason I have not and will not recommend them as a builder. I would not trust them with another new build in the future.

I was so excited about purchasing a home with Lennar but unfortunately my excitement was short lived once I signed my settlement and received the keys to my new townhouse. Immediately I noticed the poor craftsmanship of my new build it was like the builder rushed putting the house together. There were noticeable errors and issues throughout my home that I’m still working with customer care to fix (which is a nightmare within itself). I reached out to the builder to address the issues and we scheduled a time to do a walk through inspection of my home and he never showed up for the appointment ...

I had an amazing experience with the salesperson and the Mortgage company when buying my home but the quality and craftsmanship of the home is very poor. I have had nothing but issues since the purchase of the home. the major issues I have is water getting into my homes from the roof and window. this has been an ongoing issue that I thought was fix but as of today with the rain, I found out its not. I am totally frustrated and can't seem to get in contact with anyone high up in the company. I would not recommend the purchase of a lennar home.
