Disappointed buying experience and service

The sales person was unresponsive after sale was done. Have been unable to resolve issues with home after many no show appointments. There an obvious construction deflect with exterior draining system affecting all homes. This will need to be repaired or will end in class action by residents. fFinally told to make a warranty claim when it was construction manager erroneously cut the seal in the AC. Sloppy paint and improperly installed shower drain which could cut someone’s feet and is a liability to Lennar. Was expecting better quality and service. Cannot recommend Lennar homes.

Most of the poor experience began at the time of the final walk. Nothing on the list had been completed. Numerous drywall issues throughout, bad paint. Entire new build fit and finish left a lot to be desired. When meeting with Lennar Reps, a couple of them stated "I didn't build it". Frustrating to hear when you are speaking to someone wearing a Lennar shirt. Was finally able to get things sorted out but took a visit with Division President to do so.

Lennar responded:

If I had it to do all over again- I would have went with another builder hands down. Customer service is BAD!! I was promised things would get fixed when I closed on my home and still those issues have not been dealt with- so I fixed most of them on my own. Please do your research when purchasing a home from Lennar - make sure you have numbers and people who you can contact to make sure your issues get resolved- it must be bad because all they could blame is someone that left Lennar- well I wonder why? I’m sorry but how is it the home buyers fault you can’t keep quality employees or hold on ...

The person who sold us the home told us many false things to make the sale. There are a lot of things that were changed out during the process to a lower quality. However, our house price did not change. The quality is awful and we have had to spend the first 60 days reaching out to Airtron, GE, Lennar, etc. to get things fixed. Not very enjoyable when you’re trying to move into a house and unpack boxes. The sad thing is we have plenty more, that will be done at the 12 month mark. This is the third house that we have built and has been by far our worst experience.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Julie, thank you for your sincere review. We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced with your home and for any delays in resolving them. I have shared your comments with upper management for further review. Sincerely, Lennar Corporate Customer Care

Lennar has gotten so big they have lost sight of customer service and quality home building. It appears to be more about the sale and getting the houses up as fast as possible no matter what. Quality of the homes is seriously lacking. The interior finish work is extremely sloppy. The materials used are sub-standard. The interior paint job is one thin coat of flat paint. After third-party home inspection multiple areas were not to code and had to be redone. The home buying process is cumbersome and not buyer friendly.

Lennar responded:

Had a bad experience with the sales guy. Felt like a military recruiter - made promises that I would get certain things included in the house and on the papers I had to sign, he purposefully left that out. Told me I had nothing in writing which was very sketchy. Talked to some neighbors and at least 4 others had a similar experience. I really did not want to give him the commission on this sale but I had to get the house. The finance team was also a nightmare. More times than I can count I was asked for docs that were supposedly due the next day and they would be sent to me at midnight (or ...

Not worth the high price tag. Lennar claims to offer quality homes but skimps on materials used in the home. The cheapest grade of apartment paint is used throughout. Poor workmanship skills in the construction teams, scratches on the walls and floors, unfinished corners, peeling paint on doors, missed sealant on exterior walls. Make sure your home is FULLY completed because once you move in they drag their feet on getting your repairs or even things that need to be completed, completed. The communication is extremely poor between their people and from the construction manager to contractors, etc.. been in my home for almost 2 months and still waiting on items to get fixed/completed. They are more concerned with selling more houses so they will try to complete those before really caring to attend to your needs although you have already moved into your home.

We do enjoy our house but the hassle and problems we have had in just the first weeks alone are worrisome. To start from the very beginning we never heard from our mortgage loan officer. We reached out multiple times and never heard anything until the day of our closing. He sent us an email only to say our mortgage lender was changing. We did our blue tape walk through a week before our closing date. They completely disregarded everything that was blue taped. When we went to our new home orientation the day we closed there was still blue tape everywhere. Mud on the carpet, cracked ...

Lennar seriously needs to look at there home buying process from the bottom up. Sales people need to know more about the product their selling, I had an independent inspection done of the newly constructed house many incompleted items, a lot code related. Some where corrected then PM said he would correct remaining issues himself after settlement. Off the record never seen PM since. If this is the way Lennar does business it’s no surprise the sued all the time. There the reason production builders get a bad reputation. Issues began the first day we moved in. Within the month we’ve lived here we have had a major water leak. Slow response times to fix the issue. The items we discussed in the walkthrough were not fixed and our move in day was awful because of it. We are even considering legal action at this point because the leak was brought up in the inspection and lennar breached its contract by lying to us and telling us it was fixed and addressed when it clearly wasn’t. Do not recommend this company to anyone and this seems to be a similar issue with our neighbors. Really disappointed wish we could take it ...

Construction manager's attitude was rude from the beginning stages of construction phase. He never responded properly when we raised any issue with the construction. The sales team person accuses the home buyer as liar if we bring any issues we face with construction team or customer care team to his notice.
