The preaproval was amazingly fast. It made me feel confident that when the time would come to finalize, it would be equally fast. It was not. I couldn't believe the amount of hoops I had to jump though to get this home. I wish I had been warned to spray pesticides to kill off all the bugs that made my home theirs throughout the build process. We had to forego the radiant barrier with no replacement option. Pulte homes was supposed to be energy efficient and now summers will feel a bit more uncomfortable. The tile job quality of the 9k shower isn't up to par. It's uneven. The recessed ...

Site manager didn’t provide any photos of the house during the build process. Was “extra” helpful when we signed for the house because of a survey. Gave him a bad survey, so he quit taking our calls, emails, and text messages. If it wasn’t for the site manager, I would rate Pulte much, much higher!

Disappointing Experience

We chose Pulte Homes based on my personal experience working in the homebuilding industry and their reputation in the market. We were extremely disappointed by numerous issues throughout the construction process and in the end result. We have been in the home for 2 plus months and still have warranty work taking place. This is our 4th new build in Phoenix, and by far the worst experience. Manu of our new neighbors feel the same way, sadly I would not recommend.

It has been less than three months since house closing. As I recently moved in, I am still unfamiliar with many aspects of the house. Ad for Pulte shows a person in business casual clothing taking time to sit & talk/work through the process of how things in the house work & some type of information on where things are. Sakes pitch & empty promises. Building manager even told us that he holds the paperwork "hostage" until we agree that the house is fine to get people to sign. I couldn't believe he said it out loud. I have an issue with your responsiveness to issues. We have put multiple requests online to have someone come look at our garage door opener and not heard back. Nobody has called or returned emails. It’s poor form on your end and really is frustrating on a brand new home that we can’t even get a hold of someone.

Workmanship is not up to par with cost of house

A 2mil house should not have as many issues when going through the walk through. Everything from the walls, inside and outside of the house, requiring patch work, poor installation of cabinets, spotty paint job, dirty walls and carpets, etc.

Worst home buying experience. The quality of workmanship was terrible. When issues were brought to their attention, they tried to fix them, but ultimately it just made them worse. They only care about building the home quickly and don’t really care about the finishes and it looking nice. Once we closed, dealing with service requests is a joke too. Everyone seems to just pass the buck and are really not interested in helping the home buyer. Very disappointed and frustrated buyers.

Do not think that they care about you, because they don’t. From the beginning rude salesmen, craftsmen ship is shoddy. The only person that did a good job was a guy name Wes and his Boss. Buying a Pulte home wasn’t fun, and I already have my home up for sale.

Too many delays. Bad trades and poor workmanship. Too unresponsive and slow in getting issues fixed after move in that should have been taken care of BEFORE move in.

First of all, my experience with Hector, the construction manager was GREAT! He exemplifies the outstanding customer service and responsiveness of a true professional. My experience went downhill from there. There were (and still are) a dozen items on the punch list that have not been addressed by the customer service team. In all honesty, the home feels that every corner that could be cut was butchered. We have so many issues with the home (doors, carpet, cabinets, paint, bathroom insert, tile, flooring, grout etc etc. Its been a nightmare to say the least...will not do again.

I Was not living in AZ at the time. I did all my selections via internet. I was told there would be weekly updates but received no information for months. There was constantly a change in contact people. The people I started with were not the people I ended with. Overall the home is nice, but there is some messy workmanship and communicationneeds to improve.

Buying process was rushed and prevented time to research to avoid surprises, such as the terraced streets with open view fence in the back so that people can see into your yard. We found out you cannot plant anything to effectively block the neighbors from seeing in and that was not disclosed either. Exterior choice is very limited and too many houses look the same. Everything went well until after closing. The issues that remain are partly back ordered but not all. Pulte has been like pushing a rope to get the remaining punch list warranty items completed. We are almost 4 months after closing.

I would recommend other buyers to refuse to close until all significant items of the home are completed. We paid $1,350 extra for "Insulation at interior wall adjacent to Owner's Suite...". 7 feet of that adjacent wall (about half) was not insulated. Pulte's representatives say "since it is not an exterior wall or involve plumbing they refuse to insulate it.".

There was work finished after closing and the house was left in a mess. Paint spilled on the floor in pantry was the biggest issue. Then I went to cook and my stove shuts the breaker off every time I preheat it. (It also happens if I plug my toaster oven into that side of the kitchen so it’s not the stove. The electrician finally came after a month of complaints and missing the first appointment. He insists it was the stove and told me to call whirlpool (who told me they’d call back, which hasn’t happened yet). And the electrician replaced the breaker just in case.
