Don’t believe the hype!!!

Where as we love our new home layout, we are very disappointed with the process and quality of materials. The standard finishes are embarrassingly cheap. When you walk through the models you are tempted to mimic what you see but doing so will cost you many 10’s of thousands more. The sales and construction crew made many promises they were not able to deliver and left a terrible taste in my mouth.

Overall not a great experience

Love my home and thankful to have it but the experience with pulte has been poor. The house took way longer to build than initially expected and communication on realistic timelines were poor. Now that we are moved in, I can not get anyone from pulte to get back to me on work orders. I moved into my house on November 7th and 2 months later I have a window that still needs to be replaced, a cabinet shelf that is still missing and nobody seems to know when it will arrive, and a cabinet door that needs replaced - once again no idea when it will arrive. There's nails all over my roof and every ...

Decided to re-locate my family and build a new house which should have been nothing but exciting but wow was I wrong. Sales was perfect, good communications etc. Closing communication was horrible! Caused delays and extra unnecessary flights only to cause more delays and frustration. Workmanship: sloppy, holes in the wall were not patched, overspray on windows, paint splatters on the brand new floors, lines of paint crooked, floor boards uneven and appear dirty due to the way they were installed, cracked grout, etc. (we moved in over 2 months ago and nothing has been done) Appliances: ...

I would recommend having a home inspector accompany buyers on the pre closing and closing walk throughs. This would hopefully catch many of the incomplete items. I think the builder rushed the process in order to close on the last day of the month.

Had much difficulty getting any response from people. The workmanship was sub par, and from the mouth of the construction supervisor "Pulte will only do a much as the minimum required". I was not impressed.

Pulte Homes - Follow up on issues not addressed at time of closing has been

Follow up on issues not addressed at time of closing has been very poor. Responsiveness by phone and email has likewise been poor. HVAC was not connected when we closed and neither was the kitchen sink, dishwasher or disposal. Cabinets were misaligned at time of closing and still have not been corrected. What started as an outstanding process has finished very poorly. At this point, I could not recommend Pulte as a builder.

Don’t sign closing documents until all repairs have been completed!! We completed our walk trough one week prior to close, pointed out the work needed and we’re promised most of it was going to be done by closing. That was not the case, they completed a few cosmetic touches inside the house but nothing everything. The manager did not complete the walk trough with us until two weeks after we had close and he took a list again of the issues needed to be corrected. Up to this date, two months after the walk trough, they have only completed two issues and only because they were affecting the HOA. ...

It started with my Pulte realtor. No help, no updates, nothing as we lived out of state. At that point I should have known how this was going to go. We closed all cash even before our house was even inspected properly. We had no kitchen faucet, no mirrors in our bathrooms, our shower had no glass and worst of all the insulation wasn’t even done in our attic spaces. All this was done after we started moving in. We have now been in our house for almost 60 days and the list of things we found during our walk through are still not even close to being done. I have been told numerous times by ...

If you like communication, you won’t get it. Sub contractors take no pride their work. If it’s good enough that’s all that matters. Paid a lot of money to have the house interior painted. It’s the worst paint I’ve ever seen. I can never get a response to issues from anyone about issues that need handled for warranty or repairs…starting to get angry at this point.

Quality of work is okay, not great. Sloppy, no pride in workmanship. 50/50 on materials. Many were very cheap for the price we paid. Quality Control was basically none. Terrible. Responsiveness to issues, basically we got "ghosted". At 2 months from move-in, still many issues were not addressed. Word of trust to take care of things, doesn't exist. The only positive portion of this experience was the Loan Processing. Basically smooth, though communication was lacking, it was better than the rest of the process. At this point, we would not purchase another Pulte Home or recommend ...

Every time we visited the job site it was filthy. No one watched the contractors that were "working" at our home. Beer bottles on site, bathroom plumbing not complete in one of the bathrooms, heater not set up. Even at our walk through the house was not clean and it doesn't seem to bother our "Construction Supervisor". We are sorry we didn't buy from a different builder.

The home looks beautiful but feel like it was rushed. I have plenty of issues that still aren’t fixed my shower is leaking out water and paint needs to be fixed inside and out. My ceiling in my garage needs to be fixed as well. I feel like my house was rushed and now I have all these problems. And the communication throughout my building process with my site manager was pretty much non-existent. Here’s our story of what we are still dealing with. Anyhow, 3 days before our final Walk through I decided to come by the house to do a walk through by myself. The night before we have some rain, but I was still very surprised when I walked in to see water leaking from my downstairs bathroom into the front door foyer. Obviously I called my super and he got on it right away. We were told the cleaning and remediation process would take about 9 days. I had a horrible experience with both Victoria in the sales office as well as Monica at Pulte mortgage. Victoria was rude and unhelpful and frequently used terms like “breach of contract” as a bully tactic. Monica at Pulte mortgage was often confused and had conflicting information, often calling me when she was trying to call another customer. Even at closing, she incorrectly told me my closing was on hold even though it had been given the clear to close because she had the wrong information. My salesman Josh and construction manager were very helpful. My loan rep Justice was a poor communicator and hard to contact. After closing on property my warranty person Brock Has been slow or unable to resolve issues. Luckily I took pictures of defects the day I received my keys. The attention to detail and workmanship left a lot to be desired for the price. I also have to constantly hound our field manager to get things fixed. And almost 2 months later I still have items from the pre-closing walkthrough that weren’t completed. They flooded the house while testing the water a few days before closing. If I could do it over again I probably wouldn’t buy with Pulte.

Our construction manager Mike wasn’t very communicative throughout the process on giving us updates to the build. We drove by the lot daily to check up on progress ourselves. Many items on our final walk through were left unfinished, there’s a stain on the new carpet in one of the bedrooms that has been there since before closing. Our windows don’t latch properly and I still have not heard back from Mike when the tradesmen is scheduled to come by. This is a safety issue, overall not very satisfied with the customer service. The quality of our new home is sub-par. After moving in we noticed that 2 walls in the middle of our home aren't even close to straight. They're slated to be repaired but being that were occupying the home now it will be a big inconvenience. Our A/C unit wasn't wired correctly and shorted out leaving us without air while 100+ outside and by the time it was repaired it was almost 90 in our home. Considering we just lost our home in a fire the potential to have another fire was concerning. Our experience with this builder was deeply disappointing and far from what you’d expect when investing over $1 million in a new home. From construction quality to customer service and even the finance department, the process was riddled with issues and unmet expectations.
