The lack of support from Pulte

I was given a very low grade refrigerator just so they could close and get their money. The frig door doesn’t stay closed, it’s very small, and doesn’t have an ice maker. We live in Florida and have to buy ice every two days. Ive talked to Pulte and their sales manager who doesn’t even call back or follow up. He’s been a total disappointment along with Whirlpool who blames Pulte then Pulte blames Whirlpool. The sad part is I can go out and buy the refrigerator I ordered and paid for but no one will step up and give me a refund to do that!! All I get is excuses and no solutions!!

Pulte has some good home designs, but in the end, they fall short because they hire the cheapest labor possible using the cheapest materials possible. Fit and finish is terrible, and there doesn't seem to be any inspection of the work performed. For example, many of the doors inside the house don't close. EVERY window has crooked or wavy framing and drywall work. The floor tiles throughout the house are uneven so furniture wobbles. Any purchased upgrades use the least expensive materials possible. The homes would be much better quality if someone actually followed up on the work ...

We thought we were going to have a beautiful home built for us. We walked through the model and fell in love. Unfortunately, we ended up receiving a completely different product than what we were anticipating. We feel very mislead. We have many issues with our house. We are hoping everything can be fixed, but I'm not feeling too optimistic. I believe for the amount of money spent on this house, the craftsmanship and attention to detail should be close to perfect. I am not at all pleased with the quality or lack there of of this house.

Watch your house being built as much as you can. Sub contractors are not the best tradesmen. Many issues during the build and more with the finished product.

Sloppy construction everywhere: crooked walls, doors that don’t close, bad trim, messy painting, and caulking that looks like a joke. Add dead sod, flooding, broken sprinklers, and a warranty team that disappears — and that’s life in a Pulte home. Buyer beware.

If you are looking to be fully informed throughout your home buying experience then think twice about Pulte. We were told we could not speak to the construction manager throughout the home build. We were told everything had to go through the sales agent. This was a nightmare. We had asked for sample tiles in the beginning and never received them until a few weeks from closing. The sales agent was pushy when it came down to the down payment and even forced us to wait three days to sign our contract because they had hit their sales number for the month. Let’s see, where to begin…. First of all, it took 1 year and 2 months to build our new home. 2nd: they promised an incentive bonus to consider using Pulte Mortgage. Then, the initial interest rate offer was 7.75%. We went with another lender for 5.25%. Then, the wood for our home sat in the rain for months and then got mold. Then, we dealt with a leaking roof for a month. Then, a leaking wall while the drywall went in. They had to repaint our walls and baseboards twice. We were delayed by 3 months for closing. Home has way too many problems, poor workmanship, it was incomplete when delivered to me they have a long list to fix and complete. I will update with how well they do delivering me the home I was promised and if it is corrected, as I am still hoping for integrity and that this is an isolated situation and not their new normal.

We were lied to and mislead by the sales manager.

Pulte sales manager promised me that we can buy the house as an investment regardless of knowing my mother is an employee in a different location which had nothing to do with the experience. She assured that it wouldn’t be an issue since day one. Now I can’t my own house and I was forced to sign a document saying. I can’t rent my own house. How embarrassing for a builder to force something upon their buyers, specially when the sale was initiated on different terms. The frustrations began day 1 with a sales team that didn’t respond or follow up to our conversations and inquiries. Many items changed, including appliances, changed after we had signed. The process took double the amount of time we were told it would take, while homes on our street that were sold months after, caught and passed our process. Mistake after mistake, no accountability, and no communication from our sales team. They’re not really a sales team, more of an order taker team that loses touch after you sign.

We were rushed through the initial contract experience resulting in a very large construction mistake which was never addressed by them. Nor would they even discuss with us. "You signed all the papers" was what the sales rep said. You look at a small computer screen and make choices. Big mistake! Don't let them rush you. The local process with Pulte (sales rep and building manager) was amazing. The Pulte Mortgage side in Colorado was terrible. They will make promises then stop communicating with you when you need them the most.

Had to point out many defects which were overlooked probably due to the lack of properly trained workers. Walls, countertops, cabinets, window frames, doors, etc. were installed improperly and needed to be repaired or replaced after my own inspection. This shows that there was a lack of quality control during the build. Since closing on the property , I am still finding defects in the build.

My experience has not been pleasant at all due to faulty plumbing in the wall of my master bathroom which created mold growth after leaking for an estimated 30 days before noticing. Avoid Pulte at all costs

Starting with Mark our sales agent he misrepresented many issues. Especially the closing. We were force to live in Airbnb for 3 months at 3x price of our mortgage. The quality of the build is a disaster, our windows are so misaligned we could not put in blinded. Doors are different heights, garage doors were broken and 6weeks later not fixed. The grass was dead on arrival. Tommy, our finally construction manager did everything humanly possible to help but there were to many problems. I warn anyone not to buy from Pulte. Oh, the dog park in Verdana Village is so small no one uses it.

Very disappointed with the quality of workmanship! Damaged floor tiles, kitchen cabinets and countertop, appliances did not work, fridge needs to be replaced. Paint is on the floor, carpet and windows .Several windows need to be replaced.

Absolutely the worst home buying experience i have ever been a part of. Was mislead throughout the entire process. It was like a bait and switch scheme throughout the process. Was lead to believe my home would have items like keyless locks, garage floor epoxy, pendent lighting to name a few. When I got to the house after closing none of that was present. Pulte is clearly a quantity, not quality type company. Our home in Wild Blue was a JOKE. Justin forced us to close without mirrors or glass in the bathrooms. The entire house is full of nicks in the walls, unfinished trim work, paint on everything (not just the walls). It is the epitome of sloppy. Getting someone to care once you’ve closed - nearly impossible, unless you make your way up the chain to superiors.
