Absolutely horrible buying experience

Pulte Homes, Pulte Mortgage and the builders are one and the same. No matter how much they deny it. You’d expect the experience to be a streamlined and smooth sailing. It was anything but that. We had 3 project managers during 6 months of build. Pulte mortgage- stay away. No matter what the incentives they offer. Shop around. Some lenders do match what pulte. Pulte mortgage almost broke us down to an extent that my wife and I had to seek therapy. James M, Kathy K- stay away from these two. One was perpetually absent throughout the process. The other one kept changing the terms.

Bad customer service after closing

It’s hard to get a hold of the customer service team after the closing. The quality of workmanship could be better especially painting and staining of stairs.

Overall the home buying process was pretty smooth. The home itself is where the issue is. This is fine if you’re buying your first house..but if you’re trying to buy a QUALITY home, look elsewhere. The paint for the walls is so cheap, you could bump into and it leaves a mark. There is no storage for anything. There is no storage for anything upstairs besides an attic. There is no where to put towels, wash clothes or etc. There is a storage closet right by the garage but there are no racks. The pantry in the kitchen is so small..Very disappointing. The house just is not functional. There ...

Prior to purchasing a new home in Oakwood, my Husband and I owned 4 previous homes ( a combination of new construction and resales built by various national builders). Unfortunately, the home we purchased from Pulte was horribly built and now is posing significant safety concerns. Please reconsider building with Pulte Homes.

Most of it went well, apart from some closing details that I won't disclose here and have been discussed with Pulte's team during closing. Still learning the details of the house and getting minor details adjusted. So far, the experience with the building/aftersales support team has been pretty good.

Bad quality labor and low commitment on fixing issues

We purchased a quick move-in home that required many small repairs, particularly regarding the quality of the finishing work. Several final touches were poorly done, especially the paintwork, and almost all doors were damaged at the bottom, likely due to improper handling when they were removed for painting. During our walkthrough with the builder, we pointed out all the issues we noticed. However, we were told that since the house had already been approved by the county, these corrections were not mandatory, although they would try their best to address them. We closed on our home on Dec 19 2025 and had a great experience with Juan our construction manager. He walked us through the process every step of the way and made sure we understood everything. All the minor issues before closing were resolved promptly and he communicated with us on every single issue. He really was outstanding and deserves a nice raise! We're very happy with the house and would recommend friends and family to buy with Pulte.

Builders are great , Pulte mortgage was terrible and almost made us lose our new home, had switch lenders and they were able to close us in one week, while Pulte mortgage had us in underwriting for over a month with no updates .

I purchased this house because when I came to see the model home, it was elegantly on display without a single defect, so I expected the final home that they will sell me would also be without defects. But the home I walked into has cabinets that are chipped, kitchen island that is not aligned with the center of the kitchen, and molding in the kitchen that is not even painted. The window frames in the kitchen are dented and uneven.
