My frustration with the lack of communication and follow-through

During the build process, the field manager did not communicate with me; and when I called or emailed; he didn't promptly get back to me; if at all. Since closing, he hasn't followed up promptly when I reach out. And the list of items that still need to be done/corrected, hasn't been addressed. It is beyond ridiculous

Pulte Homes - Sales was not polite, push for more option purchase very aggressively.

Sales was not polite, push for more option purchase very aggressively. They are obviously short in man power. the field manager was a good man, he tried his best but there is just too much for him to cover. Little issues all around the house, not critical but annoying, especially for house at this time price range. My neighbor had a blocked sump pump the first day he moved in … i am checking mine frequently, my sewer pump beeped crazily one day after the bathroom was used, after a minute it pumped itself then everything went ok, not sure what was going on

Pulte’s poor communication and commitment disappoints us so much. They really need complete responsibilities and accountability to listen carefully and timely communicate. Most importantly they have to take action but not simply disregard or inaction. Very disappointed and unpleasant experience.

The attention to detail or lack there of really was disappointing. Lots of bumps in the road and still finding the little things that were sloppy in the craftsmanship. You can tell that everything was done with speed not care. Don’t even get me started with the sales representative.

We had many issues throughout the build process, most were due to the incompetence of the sales rep. On several occasions we were told we were getting one product by the sales rep only to find out too late in the build process that those items that heavily swayed our decision to purchase, either 1. Weren't available, or 2. Were only available if we chose a different option or 3. We were mislead on what we were getting. I could go on and on but there's not enough space. We never even got a response from supervisors when we had issues that warranted it. Overall there are so many issues, and ...

Closed on home in March. Yard has still not been installed - issue is not due to COVID-19. This is a shame as we would not have poorly rated this experience prior to closing. We have been understanding about a window needing to be replaced and workers not being allowed in homes during the pandemic. However, yards are being installed consistently around the neighborhood as we watch and wait for the past 2 months.

I closed on 2/19/20. To date, the exterior painting (including caulking and ceiling) and landscaping has not been completed. Also, the exterior was littered with construction debris. There are also interior issues that cannot be addressed at this time due to COVID-19 but reflect upon the quality of workmanship. I am currently having shingle blow offs and shingle flapping in several sections of the roof that has not been resolved although reported.

Pulte talks a lot about quality but the contractors they use for fit and finish are terrible. We closed on our house and there are still a lot of issues that Pulte has yet to fix. From missing siding, to poor caulking, uneven drywall, scratched appliances- you name it. I am confident that our framework was done correctly but from a fit and finish standpoint Pulte misses every mark.

Overall nice home but there are issues

The home seems nice on the initial inspection but once a closer look is taken, the craftsmanship is not good for the money that was spent. The attention to detail is lacking and we are continuously finding things that were not done properly. It seems that the attitude of "that's good enough" was taken when finishing the home. While Pulte is trying to address all of our issues, it is taking a long time to get someone in the home to fix things.

Issues with Pulte Home

Pulte does not standby their product. Response time to warranty issues related to heating, plumbing and appliances is slow. You can wait more than a week for an initial service visit and the repairs can take weeks to complete. Pulte does not seem to be concerned with the quality of the components they use to build the houses and they do not take any responsibility for the individual components such as the furnace, appliances, and windows, etc. The homeowner has to resolve any issues with these components directly with the manufacturers.

Pulte Homes responded:

Pros: Good floor plan (Alison), Very Nice and competent building manager ( Ryan) Cons: Inflexible and contract focused interactions with sales. ( If you have to ask for something that is not spelled out in the contract, don’t bother, the answer is NO). Excessive (in my opinion) “Earnest Money”.... more than $50K (10%) in our case. Once you have paid that much, you are locked in and not much room for flexibility/requests after that. Compared to our old Carmel subdivision, no pool, clubhouse. Not a welcoming HOA and community feel... got 2 “courtesy notices” within the first 3 weeks as we were ...

My wife and I had such high hopes when we started the process with Pulte and after closing and moving in we are extremely disappointed in the building team and the service provided. It seemed to be the epitome of bad service and very poor customer service. From the design center to the building team and management. The process throughout was more than frustrating. We didn't get truthful information about the number of basements in the addition from the sales person and that is why I am giving a 1 star review on trustworthiness. I feel like this is basically a good home, but we can't get some of the last detail work completed which is why I am giving a 1 star review on responsiveness. I'm also frustrated because it's early June and one of the few sunny days we've had since we closed in April, but there are no landscapers working in the addition. At this rate it's going to be fall before we get sod and landscape.

We are not happy with the quality of the house built by Pulte. Our previous home was also a Pulte home and was in a great condition after more than 10 years. We are disappointed to see that the quality has gone down with the new house even though it is a more expensive home. There were many errors in the building process that we caught and had to bring to the field manager's attention. There were still many issues that need to be addressed after the closing.

I found a lot of issues after I signed up, I am paying for a new product, and I found out that the backyard door and garage door have a lot of issues, which I requested a replacement, it looks like those construction managers want to save money for their company, also they ignored me many times when I asked for any repair. Felt mislead from the beginning by our sales agent. The overall quality has been disappointing and the finish work is bad. The carpet was installed too early and no care was taken by the project manager to protect all the trades from coming inside and "trashing" our upgraded carpet. Highly frustrating and disappointing! Builders were in a rush to sell the house. There was a broken window which they were aware of however did not fix. In addition contract had a ring door bell included. They refused to push the closing date regardless of these features not being present. It has been 2 months post closing and both things have not been fixed. Great Floor Plan, Lack of Quality Workmanship

Location and floor plan were the draw for our Pulte home purchase. After we put money down on the lot we heard throughout the design process they are a production builder. That is for sure. From limited design selections if you do not want gray to the half bath fan that never shuts off to a light switch placed in the middle of a wall forcing you to stretch to turn on, thoughtful living was not executed. Overall we can walk through our home which is expensive and see details that do not match the price we paid.

Really not happy with the awful conditions of the front and the back yards of my new build house since we closed in March . We still don’t have any sods in front and any seeds in the back, landscaping never got done for 2 months since we closed.
