I recently purchased a quick-close home with Pulte. I can’t comment on the design process. The sales team was very responsive and helpful before and after the process. They allowed me access to the home to get windows measured for blinds prior to close. The construction manager walked me through the home and explained the ins and outs very well. When I moved in the shower leaked, the dishwasher leaked and the AC didn’t turn on. The warranty team was extremely responsive. The AC was fixed in a matter of hours and the leaks were fixed quickly as well. Overall, I worry about the resale value of the home because it appears to be priced quite high compared to other new construction in the area but I appreciate the warranty. ... More

We’ve had a great deal of experience purchasing new builds and think that Pulte exceeds in many ways. Their level of customer service gave us a lot of confidence in them. Every person we dealt with, from sales to field manager, was responsive and knowledgeable. All calls were returned promptly and all questions answered. We felt part of the construction process and were kept well informed at each stage. If we had any issues or concerns, they were addressed quickly. Of all the homes we have built, all were built by tract or semi-custom companies. Pulte is far and away the best.

I do not appreciate nor cordon the way Pulte handled our final inspection. In attendance were my wife and me, the supervisor (worthless. No longer works for Pulte), the salesperson and the warranty lady. We were intimidated and overwhelmed. No questions we had were answered. Pulte needs to re-think this approach.

Our experience with purchasing a new home from Pulte at La Cuentesta was flawless, Our sales agent Patty made everything very easy by explaining the homes and was outstanding is assisting us through the paperwork. The homes are of high quality, and have excellent floor plans. Also any minor discrepancies we found after we moved in were quickly and efficiently resolved. I would recommend a Pulte home to anyone.

From beginning to end we were confident our home was going to be efficient, of high quality, and beautiful. Everyone we encountered from day one was kind professional and skilled! We could not be happier! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

If there was ever an issue they were on top of it and got it resolved for me

We upgraded to lvp flooring throughout the house, approximately $30k. When the final trim person painted, not taping or using edger, they got paint all around the flooring/trim, it is also in the wood grain of the lvp flooring. First they had lady cleaning with paint scrapper/rag, then tried cleaning with water, paint everywhere and it does not match the flooring we purchased. They also finally tried coretec recommendations, did not work. Then they had restoration company try to correct, still has not fixed the flooring to our satisfaction. For first walk through was totally appalled, worse condition of the many new homes I have bought, delayed close by a month bu5 flooring is still big issue. Would be happy to share pictures of the process all along, pictures of first/videos of first walk through and the final. What is disappointing is we kept hearing file warranty claim, it will never be perfect and to sell this as new flooring is terrible. You can see in area# where floor was scratched, attempted to fix using polyurethane, the floor is awful. Other things could be discussed but we will jus do as we heard and file claim which is very bad business after a person moves in. I believe Pulte should have just replaced it during the month delay versus how it looks now. Would be more than happy to discuss ... More

We are very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and response to after sales issues. We are not so pleased with the communication received during the build. We lived out of state during the construction so we relied on the sales consultant and construction manager for timely and accurate updates on progress and delays. The updates were few and far between. We only received then after much prodding and several on-site visits from us.

Pulte Homes are quality builders.

For the most part we are happy with our Pulte Home buying experience. The house is very quite and seems well built and the people on the home buying team were courteous and responsive. However, the upgrades are far too expensive ( especially the flooring) and they don't paint the garage interior which to me, is just downright cheap for the price we paid and the landscape plants and trees are not the best. Still a pretty good experience but could have been better.

Our home buying experience with Pulte was great. My family and I are happy with our new home. We are proud of our new home. The Pulte warranty has also been extremely convenient. Everyone has been kind and very helpful.

It was a long stressful process if was not for our salesperson we would have went with another builder.

The experience started out slow and stayed that way and continually progressed into problems making us realize that the slowness was due to incompetence on many levels.

Generally speaking the house appears built to industry standards. Have not seen any of the City's building inspection reports so cannot say with any great certainty. However, preventing us from fully moving in, is inadequate final cleaning of the floors and damage cupboards that have not been rectified to date. Both, Pulte knew of after the first walk through. The tile surface is marred by an adhesive and the shelving in the cupboards were damaged during shipping and were still installed. There is also a window in bedroom two that does not close and allows wind blown sand into the house. There are a number of smaller problems that all add up to a big headache. ... More

Overall experience was decent. Some of the procedures needed for the mortgage were cumbersome but that's probably the case everywhere. There were a couple communication breakdowns that had legitimate consequences but they did what they could to make things right.

We wouldnt recd Pulte as a builder. Numerous things had to be redone before move in due to shoddy workmanship first time or two. Wrong replacement door sent 2x. Still waiting on replacement. Pulte-provided refrig missing shelf we've ssked for 5x. Poor floor plan wastes a lot of space ( have the architects ever lived in a house?). Very short time alotted to make decisions with little recourse to modify unless Pulte needed to change. MAJOR months long hoopla to get ADA shower grab bars approved (even though we were paying). Millions of Americans from disabled vets to folks with knee and hip injuries need grab bars. Get into the 20th century Pulte (yes 20th C). Floors very dirty for "move in ready" and construction mgr could hardly compel cleaners to return. Sales office response was to one-up us on how filty their own Pulte home was for move in. Why would sales person brag about Pulte inability to turn over clean home at closing? We're the 3rd home we know that had to have garage door repaied within week of move in. Yes, they did respind quickly. Overall would not recd Pulte as builder. We will say eventually our construction mgr worked hard to get things right for us once he knew we would not stop advocating for ourselves. And wait until the rains, alot of the subdivision is not properly graded for runoff. Does Pulte know about civil engineers who specialize in drainage? We only bought here in Broadmoor Heights to be close to several family members already here. Perhaps we've been ruined by working with and buying from better builders over our 45 years of home ownership. ... More

Overall a good experience, long wait, sales personnel friendly but not always helpful. The morgage group friendly and helpful but not competitive. The construction manager James was great. He made every effort to meet our needs and always responded quickly and politely.

From the Pulte sales models...to our salesman...our home buying experience has been great! We love our new home! We did have a few minor items that needed attention--AND? Pulte and their crew were quickly responsive! Our house is very well built and energy efficient! We like the neighborhood and the view of the Sandia Mountains.

a great home for the price

Overall construction is good. Fit and finish is ok, the subs workmanship is mediocre. Sink in guest bath not level, front door threshold not sealing properly. Kitchen cabinets are low quality and constructed poorly. Microwave oven broke twice (poor design), use a different supplier. For $600k I would expect better. Design center was not very useful, poor job of helping you understand the finished product and how it will look.

Great experience from start to finish

I truly had a great time working with Pulte. From the initial walk in conversation with the sales team and with the follow-up conversations I was highly impressed and Pulte defined the term " Excellent ". I would highly recommend Pulte and if I could I would buy another home from Pulte!!!! I truly had a great experience with Pulte and all of their staff members!!!!!

The Estates at La Cuentista come highly recommended! From the super convenient and highly commutable location to the quality of the build and our amazing construction manager, Eric... We cannot say enough great things! As with any new Pulte build, you can customize from the ground up or you can fall upon a great deal with a move in ready spec-home. No matter which way you go, you will be amazed by the thought and workmanship put into the build. All Pulte homes in our community come with an open, spacious floor plan and living area to accommodate any size family as well as a great space for entertaining. Pulte uses quality materials and contractors as high end finishes and offers a superior warranty. I was skeptical about getting warranty work done after our close date but I am amazed with the simplicity and commitment they have in ensuring everything is perfect. Becky is our contact for warranty work and she is extremely prompt to respond to our concerns and always follows up to ensure open items are taken care of. Our kitchen has ample counter and cabinet space and the bathrooms are also nicely appointed with countless finish options. Two of my favorite standard features about are home are the high ceilings (total jaw-dropper) and the Taexx Pest Control lines. If you've never heard of Taexx but hate bugs inside the home, look it up and you will be impressed! And the topper of it all, La Cuentista is a gated community so it's super safe, quiet and impeccably clean! It is also close to a number of top rated public and private schools. Pulte Homes did a phenomenal job with this community! We absolutely love our new home and recommend you check out the models before you make a decision to purchase anywhere else in town! ... More

I had concerns about changes to house design exterior after contract signed that I was not informed of. Also not sure of selection of HOA is a Pulte matter or not, but I have many concerns about the CC&Rs that do not seem flexible and should have been more fully explained at time of disclosure of those documents. As an example; I really liked the landscaping of the Parklane model and wanted that design which apparently is not within design approval set forth in the HOA documents. Perhaps some disclaimers should be disclosed to potential buyers before contract signed. The process was very stressful from having to deal with Pulte Mortgage to the details of construction. I feel exhausted having to explain the stress we went through. It was not a good experience until the last day when we finally closed on the house 11.5 months after going under contract. Just to give you an idea of the chaos we experienced, our house wasn't even cleaned (literally, it's still looked like a construction site with dust everywhere and plastic still on the carpets) and most things that we identified (major things like missing hardware, paint, front door getting stuck, many cabinet issues, exterior issues) were not finished 24 hours before our closing appointment. We showed up for the "celebration" to a fill-in construction manager saying our manager, Patrick, had called in for a "family emergency" and many things had not been done. There was also a crew of like 10 Mexican women that arrived soon after us that started frantically cleaning. I was so upset and deeply disappointed that things went this way until the very end. They didn't know what to do because there was no way these things were getting done before our closing at 8 am the next day. The title company already had our received wire of over $350k. I refused to push it out and they called Chris, the district construction manager to come to the house to see what had transpired. I let him know of our ongoing frustrations and poor communication and follow through by our current construction manager and the frustration of having 4 different construction managers over the build process where communications fell through and important items not getting done right or there being delays. Chris agreed to complete as much as possible that one afternoon and then roll everything else over to warranty to fix. We now have a bunch of trades coming in to fix things that were identified to be fixed on the first walkthrough. In addition, the day we closed, the office didn't have our keys to release and acted confused about us picking up the keys that day. Apparently our construction manager, Patrick, had them and they had to rekey the whole house for us at the last minute after we had already closed. This process was a pile of poor communication the whole way. I never want to go through something like this again. The house is lovely and feels like a quality build. I absolutely love the home and the functionality of the floor plan. I recognize the attention to detail and livability that Pulte keeps in mind when developing these floor plans. I truly feel like I'm in luxury all day. It's an amazing product but the process of going through getting to this point was just way too stressful. ... More
