We have experienced examples of poor workmanship in the construction of our new Pulte home at Lake Forest. Although Pulte is willing to provide subsequent repairs after failures are discovered, they show little interest in preventing errors in the first place since there is an obvious lack of quality control which allows substandard work to be provided to customers. Also, Pulte shows no interest in responding to significant inconveniences occurring during the repair process. This approach seems to be more focused on making the initial sale and employing subcontractors than on providing a positive experience for customers. Within TWO weeks of closing on our home, we experienced two examples of poor workmanship. First, we discovered a poorly installed electrical outlet (the one servicing the range) which had to be reinstalled. Luckily no damage resulted from this error, though we were unable to use the range for two weeks until the problem was discovered and repaired. We now worry about what we don't know about potential damage (fires??) caused by other poorly installed outlets. Second, we experienced a major failure of a fixture on the water main which resulted in a geyser spraying water into our brand new home for over an hour while we were out. We've since learned that two other homes in our neighborhood experienced similar plumbing failures. Of course, our home was still under warrantee so Pulte was obliged to repair the substantial damage throughout. With the obvious lack of quality control with Pulte construction, we find it impossible to trust the plumbing work throughout the home and continue to worry about what else may occur. In addition, Pulte has not shown an interest in alleviating the significant inconvenience we suffered (lack of sleep while dehumidifying equipment ran 24hrs/day and the electrical cost of running it, extra cost of wasted water, diminished home value, vacation days spent hosting contractors, etc.) while reconstruction and repairs took place, demonstrating little interest in providing a positive experience for the customer. Very disappointed in the workmanship of our home.

Pulte are using sub-skilled, illegal laborers that are supervised (infrequently). This lead to multiple issues during the house building stage. I was at the site daily addressing issues. I don’t have any equal sized window frames and this was apparent whilst measuring for window treatments. There have been multiple issues since move-in (the majority of which have been addressed under warranty) but the vast majority of issues are due to poor workmanship which begs the question as to what you are actually paying for?!? These are visible surface issues and I cringe at what is possibly at fault structurally or behind the walls with the same shoddy workmanship. I would have to say the professionalism from the sales team ,to project management, to mortgage team have been the best I have ever worked with, and now you can include the warranty dept. which have been top notch also. Have not had any issues to date all has been a pleasure.

I will say that the project managers Norman and John return our call promptly and do everything they can to resolve and problems as soon as possible.

Good homes . Very professional staff. We moved in last year in November and our experience has been great so far.

Check all work for quality and workmanship. Slow response in getting any issues fixed.

Quality work is absent

Like many other large companies Pulte sells stability and process driven builds. Our experience however was not the best after the sales processes. 1) We had 3 field manager changes and we did not get acclimated to the process until about 5 steps in. 2) While the field manager did his best to rectify issues, the workmanship of the house was still just a little off (examples below) a) our cabinet drawers are still very stiff and do not slide back and forth well with daily use. Of course during our walkthrough they made sure the drawers slid as well as they could. But as soon as we put 3 pots in they all started acting up. The cabinets themselves also have large gaps between the frame and the doors themselves but they fit into the "pulte" standard. b) Our hotwater heater stopped working correctly 5 days in and we needed to get someone out to fix it c) The door to our garage broke one month in.. and we have had to exit the house and go around to the garage to leave the house everyday. d) Every single window and sliding door is super hard to close. I have to slam or maneuver many of them just to get them to fit and lock. It is not all bad though as their customer service team is very quick to try and resolve issues but sometimes due to the quality of vendors you get what you get. The appliances provided are also fairly nice as I am enjoying using my chef's range and dual oven/microwave. ... More

Happy with entire experience. On site manager was great and very responsive to any concerns.

I’m disappointed. The workmanship is below average. In my opinion they rushed to build my home so they can get it off inventory before the year ended. I have issues with the lawn, bugs and pest as well. They planted dead grass and trees and now the landscaper said there is a fungus in the grass. They should just replace it rather than telling me they fertilized it and just wait.
